I was conflicted between the Phenom Stealth and the Incog. Awesome review. Exactly what I needed to see and hear. Just ordered Phenom Stealth this morning. Thanks brother!
Hahaha money moves slow sometimes.... i feel it man. Just became aware of this holster, first review I clicked on. Great video, Im gonna give it a try. Thx!
Great review sir. I really enjoy your videos especially the shotgun stance and use videos. I got a Mossberg 500 that I been using as my home deterrent device and your videos have helped and I am thankful for that. What can I say about the Gold and Black. They sent Rudolph Mason to die at the hands of the mighty Purple and Black. LOL just rubbing it in a little. Keep up the great videos sir.
So I'm trying to decide between these still. I've heard mixed reviews on their movement; some people say (like you do here) that the Incog don't shift around, but some say they do. I honestly think they only say they shift because the single clip allows it some wiggle room to move with the person as you go about your day, in flexing, twisting, bedding etc., but it seems like the general consensus is that they stay in position. But I'm a bit wary of the new clip; I kind of like that the old clip is narrower and less conspicuous and that it has that outward angle on it for leverage to put outward tension on the muzzle end and pull in the top. It seems like they replaced that function with the claw, but it doesn't look like the claw would put the same outward tension on the muzzle end. It seems like the claw really just twists the butt inward. I do really like that the phenom has fuzz inside, though. I was considering getting a Phenom plus a Super Mojo and one of the old style clips... Could you tell me if the Super Mojo screw pattern would allow it to be fitted to the Phenom? From what I've seen between your review and others, it seems like that would be a sort of ideal 3rd option (at least maybe just in my imagination and for my purposes). Edit: I guess I'm not going with the Phenom, they don't offer the Phenom for the 43X/TLR-6 combo. Might be a pertinent question for others or for the future, though.
I would have liked to have seen you wear the holster. A lot of 'popular' holsters have cheap, flimsy, plastic clips. The old INCOG holsters were a great example. Is the plastic used for this clip sturdy? Much more important than the muzzle is the guns grip; when it comes to printing. That cut out area exposing the muzzle does very little to nothing to help with concealment. Does the gun flop forward like other appendix holsters that do not use a foam wedge, or similar device? Skinny dudes with flat stomachs might not have this problem; but us bigger guys do; especially when sitting.
Thanks for the great review! I'm always interested in checking out AIWB holsters. The one you're reviewing is very appealing, but, for me, I don't think it would beat my US Grunt Gear Delta holster. The US Grunt Gear holster is much more tapered at the muzzle end and seems to have a more robust claw design. I use it with a Kore Essentials belt with the X7 buckle. Very comfortable for me and conceals very well. I haven't yet found any other combination that is better than this one for me.
I know this old, but I’m thinking of getting this holster. Would the standard moclaw be fine; I hear some people say it’s too short. Wondering if I should get the super moclaw with the different lengths?
I haven't tried the T. Rex Arms Holster yet. Did you watch my review video on the Alien Gear Appendix holster? It's a good holster but it rides a little too high for my comfort though. I still think it's probably the best budget custom holster on the market.
Great video Brother! I want to purchase the stealth through your site, but when I click your store link it takes me to a Tee shirt site. I didn't see an affiliate link either.
It looks like the red lever won’t really catch your belt or would eventually work it’s way under the belt because of how little contact there is. Seems like they should have made it rise up a little higher.
Thank you for the support brother! Here's a link for that belt in OD Green amzn.to/2MX0oP3 If you want it in black, you'll have to go to G-Code's website bit.ly/39HnUt1
Enjoyed your video. Question: I purchased an eclipse about four years ago for my 19 Gen 4 (my go to EDC). As I’m kind of a bigger guy, I was not satisfied with the eclipse because the butt my 19 would print. No matter how I carried, the mojo just did not seem to work as advertised. I tried to get a refund or trade for something else with G-code, but they wouldn’t do it. I was very dissatisfied with their customer service. After watching your video I’m very interested in this new holster. The claw seems to fix the Bad design of the eclipse holster. Did you ever have any issues with the eclipse printing when you carried appendix? I guess I’m also asking how much better you think new holster is as compared to the eclipse and if it’s worth someone who was dissatisfied with G-Code taking another chance on them.
I didn't have too much of a problem with the eclipse printing but the phenom stealth with the moclaw is awesome! It definitely pulls the butt of your gun closer to your body.
It rides just a little bit higher than the Incog but not too bad. I also noticed that the Stealth ride height gives my fingers a better grip purchase as well.
I know that this comment is two years old now, but in comparison, I feel like the new stealth rides quite a bit higher compared to the eclipse. I honestly feel like it prints quite a bit more because of it.
The main thing I don’t like about this holster is the fact that the claw is too short and tends to ride under the belt, completely eliminating the whole idea of it in the first place. And, you can’t remove it
I wish they wouldn’t put G-Code on the clip. I would rather that not catch people’s attention. Is that holster tuckable since I have to keep my shirt tucked in at the office?
I just got the appendix holster from Alien Gear. Not sure what I think yet. This is my first appendix holster. I love the concept and the draw but just doesn't feel as comfortable to move around in. I'm sure it's mostly because I'm not used to it. Have you ever used the appendix holster from T. Rex Arms?
I didn't have a problem with either holster for comfort. For me, they both sit in my sweet spot which is at my 12:30. I really like the Phenom Stealth holster with the Mo'Claw. It's excellent for a tighter fit and lower print visibility. I liked it so much, I got one for my new lightweight EDC "Glock 43x".
Have you tried carrying without wearing a belt? will that mold claw get in the way or impact carrying if im wearing normal pants or shorts without a belt?
I never carry without a belt and yes it will have a very big impact on the holster and how it works. There's no holster on the market that's designed to function properly without a good gun belt.
Unless you don't like foam wedges, The Keeper holster from Keeper's Concealment, comfortably carries and conceals a pistol better than any holster I have tried; and there have been many, including the G-Code Incog Eclipse.
Terrible company. Spent an arm and a leg on that G Code Phenom, got it and hated it. They wouldn't accept returns without a 15% fee and I had to cover shipping. Why did I hate the holster? The felt lining on the inside that was eating my gun alive. Nothing should rub the finish off after a day of use. Sold it on eBay and got my money back. I'll never buy from them again. Should've never left Tulster. They can't be beat.
I have been using the G-code eclipse with the original Mojo for a few years now on my M&P Shield and my Glock 19, and they have served me well. Recently I purchased the Phenom for my 365XL even though I didn’t have the firearm at the time, a few weeks after my holster purchase I finally got 365XL, times are difficult to get any firearm. All I have to say about the Phenom it sucks. I called G-code and I told them what happened and they said I can not return the holster because it’s past the return time and couldn’t get an exchange for the Eclipse either. Now remember I used it once for a few minutes and I hated it. I was really pissed off about this so I probably won’t do any business with them anymore. Oh I forgot to mention they gave me 15% off on the eclipse for the 365XL . Are you kidding me ? Dude I just gave you $99 for a holster I didn’t use and now you want me to buy another $99 holster for the same gun?
I'm sorry for hear that. I know what it's like to get screwed on some gear. My first product review I did on my channel is the Crossbreed AIWB holster. I had worn it for about 2 weeks before I did that video and honestly I wasn't a fan of it any more after that. Of course I couldn't send it back for a refund. EDC gear is always a hit or miss type of thing and it sucks spending a lot of money on it until you find what works best for you. G-Code works best for me and just doesn't for some. I would loved to get back the money I've spent on some of this stuff that I don't use anymore.
@@TacticalPOV no doubt about that getting the money back Once I found G-code that’s all I have been using. I know you got a laugh about this but I ordered the eclipse for my 365 XL
I noticed a slight difference between the Gen4 and Gen5 with a different type of G-Code holster so it's definitely a proper fit issue. Even though they may look and seem the same to the naked eye, they're different for sure.
I know it's tuckable, just like the super tuck deluxe from crossbreed, but I never tuck my firearm. I like to prep my draw, and depending on the type of firearm you have, tucking the weapon can possibly make it difficult to clear your garment out of the way. It also causes your weapon print more. Sorry, I didn't think to mention that at the time when I made the video.
