Messi doesn't suffer from Ronaldo's vanity & anyway he is still a top, top performer. Of course he's lost his speed but his vision,passing,shooting & ice cool temperament in the box means there's plenty left in the wee man yet. Will he still have it in 2 years, who knows but I don't believe Messi would hurt his nations ambition by putting himself before country. Portugal had a good squad at the Euros but the manager let his country down, as did CR7, he was a passenger with his seat belt off - a liability

A bigger prize, the love and admiration and more important than that the embrace of the nation of Argentina as one of them as they have always recognized him as more of a Spaniard than Argentinian
