Born in Hamilton 1953....my Mom are nurse at General Hospital on Barton St..we lived on Gibson St between Barton & Cannon went to ST Ann's Catholic School Sherman & Barton....left Ham 47 yrs ago miss it always my roots
I'll have to watch this a few times, but off hand after one partial viewing what's missing is the fact that among the first things that settlers did was build taverns and form masonic lodges.
I grew up in Hamilton. Wished they had taught the history of the city in school. Why not?. From what I got from the vid it was very interesting. Would have been the jewel of Ontario due to the geographical location. The bay, Dundas marsh ,the escarpement the beachstrip ect.ect. Then the huge steel industry came and developed along with whatever else that was brought along with it. like increased unseen corruption. But what else is new? Still my old hometown. Hi Hamiltonians. / ......MY god cholera!!!
I lived in the battery lodge from 1945 to 1962 , my dad was caretaker of the park from 1935 to 1970.....I did not know of this person speaking at the 13:30
Yep. I remember having to licence my bike when I was a kid in the late 60s so it was definiyely a thing. I think they stopped requiring this shortly after this video was shot. There was some talk around 5 years ago about bringing bike licensing back to help pay for the new bike lanes but that obviously didn't go anywhere
I am American they never taught us Canadian History. This could be the most interesting video I have ever seen. I''ve been to Fort George and Fort Niagara. Canada is lucky they defeated the USA or Obama would your President!

If it's Hamilton in the 1970s it's got to be Tom No-Bull Cherington

The US is just a propaganda machine. You learn more about the world when you take history classes in Canada.
Scratch one, you find the other, and everything remains the same
