    I've been getting sicker and sicker. Doctors haven't helped. This would be amazing! I'm blind, and to plant only things i can eat together so i can pull anything off my plants and know it's safe would be amazing. I can't get to the store and having fresh fruits and veggies in the back is a dream.

    You won't have to collect seeds from the chipilin if you want it to stay in roughly the same area because they kinda pop off the pod and fall a short distance. Because of that, you'll have a delicious little patch.

    This content is so inspiring. Now that I know what to grow, what is the most cost effective way to propagate all of these varieties in my backyard? Seeds, cuttings, plants in pots? can I get it all in one place? I'd like to get a jump start on this to supplement food supply for the family and neighbors, but on a budget

    • @bvegannow1936
      @bvegannow1936 Год назад

      U can save and plant seeds from food u already eat and regrow certian vegetable scraps. U can get seeds for small crops. Buying food trees and berry bushes can save you time. Preferably get a variety of self fruitful self pollinating self fertile food trees. Dwarf food trees r available if u want smaller sized food trees.
      automatic watering system/irrigation with moisture or rain sensor(u can make this (maybe from Trash) or buy it). Rain collection.
      U can look up Wild edibles and What natives use to eat and grow and what perennials will produce well with little to no maintenance or watering by u in your area.
      Crops that require no maintenance or watering by u(only relies on rain) is preferred.
      U can start food trees yourself, but it would probably take longer for it to produce fruit than buying an older tree. U could buy trees and start trees.

    The upside of lettuce and kale and mache is they have almost no oxalates, whereas most of the tropical greens are somewhat high in oxalates, so I'd recommend at least taking a break from the tropical greens during the Florida cool season when lettuce/kale/mache grow easily, especially if you don't have Miracle leaf and Chanca Piedra in your garden patch to counter oxalates., although genetics and even a certain gut bacteria some people have are enough to counter them for most people. Green leafy lettuce is still rich in nutrients and super high in Vitamin K, the primary thing you need greens for.

    Very salad centric diet guys got going, i love botany and appreciate the nutritional value of these plants but i rarely eat a salad unless its covered with chicken and some unhealthy dressing so i just mostly avoid salads lol
    My brother is like this he has 100s of different plants that grow edible greens and every time you go over there he makes you " try" atleast 1 leaf of each plant even if you kndly try to avoid it , all sort of taste like leafs to me lol
    Legumes , roots , grains if you want long term survival stuff , greens just aint got the the calories you would starve with a belly full of greens only , but tubers and beans and grains can keep ya going
