- Hobie was a homeless golden retriever roaming the streets of East LA when the Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue found him. Surfer Chris de Aboitiz of SUP Dog Oz took on training Hobie to raise awareness about the potential of rescues, and they entered a major dog surf competition.

Hobie will adjust. As long as he's got a life jacked on and is with the right people he'll be perfetly fine. Dogs are more capable than humans

please don't buy from puppy mills . They're not a commodity !! Please adopt if you can.
Don't tell others what to do. And since you said that, I am going to make sure I buy a purebred from a reputable breeder. Not some scarred for life mutt from a shelter that only ended up there in the first place due to cheap dog owners who refuse to spend any money on their pet.

Why does your dog need a life jacket
He had never seen water prior to the trainers knowledge. It's just a contingency. Besides ocean swimming for dogs is much different from lake pond or pool swimming

@@dogmommy8398 I'm sorry but what???? I'm not sure i understand your contention with the one he has vs a $35 dollar one... The vest that dog is wearing isn't a human one... its specifically made for canines it seems( the cut out for the arms are fore quadraped shoulders). There are a bunch of reasons we could speculate as to why he has an "$80" life vest vs a 35 dollar one... a few could be that:
- it has features that are required by the surf competition he is participating in
-thats all the production team had on hand,
-the production team needed to account for people online back seat owning their dog...
