Great Video. Exactly what i was looking for in a comparison. Have spent an hour looking for something this concise and on point. Gave me what i needed to make a decisions. And I subscribed.

I finally, broke down and had a trigger job done to my P30L V3 and I now love it. The double action is much lighter and the slack has also been taken up in the reset as well. The DA/SA is so improved, my daughters even like it and it’s now my oldest daughters favorite out of my 6 pistols.
I have p30, p30sk, usp45c all in light lem. I’ve never been able to tell much difference. Only dasa hk I have is the usp45t. It’s good to hear your hk45 experiences bc not many own that gun.
The HK45 is a very underrated gun and it's really awesome at what it does. Now that the 13 rounders are being made it should shine a bit more, but it's also possible it's time in the light has passed. Still a very awesome gun though. The SEALS still rock the MK24 too, so it's out there doing work, but not a lot of consumers have them for sure.
Good advice. I’m a DA/SA guy from back in the stone age so I like the V3 P30’s. I have a P30S and P30L. Shoot them both very well, no problem. Working on a USP Tac 9.
The DA/SA just works for me, I can run SAO or Striker guns no problem, but I'm always coming back to DA/SA or LEM. Thanks for watching I appreciate it.
NAVYMAN8903 Hey thank you. Nice to have HK media to spawn some motivation. Btw, Tac 9 didn’t happen, unfortunately. Stocking dealer couldn’t get it. New guns have been slow. However they managed to get an Expert in 9mm. It’s a non JF but I snatched it up anyway. Very next day at another frequent stop I just missed a nice .45 UMP build, Omega lower, w/stock for only $1,200. Missed it by less than hour. Would of been a good candidate to suppress. This HK game is unforgiving! Not many guns > too many buyers.
Hi DD. Just wanted to say that I enjoy your videos. I especially liked your review of the P30LS. Also, because of your review of the HK45, I went and tested it on my 45th bday. (Been thinking about that for a while - shoot a 45 on my 45th.) The gun was incredibly smooth. It was my first time shooting that caliber pistol. There was hardly any kick! It had the V1 trigger (DA/SA).
I get the advantages of precocking the hammer, the LEM system provides a much lighter take up to the "wall" and a light crisp break at atbout 4 lbs. That would be a significant advantage for competition and at the range. But doesn't this just put us back into the only safety measures of a striker firesd weapon, just keep your finger away from the trigger until ready to fire! What seems to be getting lost is the safety advantages of a longer and heavier takeup for the first trigger pull to provide protection against accidental discharge in a defensive carry situation. That protection doesn't appear to be present with the LEM system.
In your experience, how does 4.1 CDA LEM compare against all the other types? Just picked up a P2000 v3 w intention to try LEM trigger. Now overwhelmed by all these variations. If it helps, I like a quick, short, crisp, and pronounced reset.
Greyguns has a short reset trigger part that will work on the P30L with LEM. It will make the P30L trigger as good and probably better than the LEM on your HK45.
What's the Todd Green Special? Just picked up my first HK (P2000) because I've heard so much about the LEM system. But now I'm so lost cause there's so many diff variations

I don't understand the P30 lem complaints. I got 2 P30s with LEM triggers it took a while but I can do a decent job with the LEM. ( I shot a lot of glocks before picking up a p30). Personally I think the P30 is one of the best and underrated 9mm pistols out there
The P30 is all around a great shooting weapon with a track record of reliability. IT's honestly a very underrated gun and if it had a better trigger everyone would own one. I find I like the P30L's the best, but they are all good for what they do. I really do like them overall and they're great carry/duty/home defense guns. They're especially good for the duty/ccw role because they're light, slim, and flat shooting. You can also get really good with them with some dedication and practice.
P2000 LEM > P30 LEM any day… USP LEM is still superior as far as reset. But in all honesty P2KSK V4 with GrayGuns SRK is the pinnacle for a carry gun imo
Dude you rock , I cannot seem to find a P30L in a LEM configuration. I have the P2000 in LEM heavy and think LEM by far is a superior platform. How did you find yours (P30L) LEM ? Do you have any suggestions on where to find one ? Looking for LEM only
Not directly, he and I share a funny bone though. He's much more creative with his dark humor than I am. I do love his channel and recommend anyone into cars checks it out. Great guy, and a great channel.
I have a weak hand and trigger finger due to a spinal cord injury. I have always shot a .357 Colt Python after I caulked the hammer. For self defense and safety it seems like based on what you are saying the P30L would be safer because of the longer trigger reset? Stated other way, after the initial shot it would take more travel of the trigger for the second shot? Any idea how many pounds for the initial trigger pull and then the second pull after reset? Thanks!
I had a USP .45 with an LEM. I couldn't stand it. The takeup was horrific while the reset wasn't all that. I consistently left The HK on the bench and shot My Glock instead. I bought a brand new USP and like it much better.
If you have the P30 V1 LEM check out the Grayguns Short Reset Drop in Trigger kit... It has great reviews and will turn your P30 into an even better gun.
JustMe I just ordered a p30L V1 (Light LEM) for that sane purpose - eventually installing them short reset kit by Gray Guns. I have a p229 Legion with the Gray Guns trigger and it’s shirt reset is amazing. This will be my first HK firearm.
You keep referring to HK45 as the USP version. Isn't the HK45 that you are showing on the video and not the USP version? I'm new to all that and trying to pick on all details before buying.
I’m currently looking to add a P30SK or VP9SK to my collection. Most of my guns are striker fire, except for my HK USP compact and my Sig P229 enhanced elite. Do you recommend I get the LEM trigger or a standard DA/SA trigger and do the Gray guns trigger kit? Or just go with the Vp9sk?
What exactly is it about the P series LEM that you think is less superior to the others? I never have heard anyone say this and I just got the P2000 with the LEM.
I know this is an older video, but I’m looking at a P30L with the LEM trigger. I have heard you can send upgrade your LEM trigger from Lonely Wolf in order to significantly shorten your reset. Have you tried this, and if so, how did it work out for you? Thanks
Have you tried the defensive action upgrade for LEM pistols, 4.1. It’s for the P-series, it’s said to reduce the take up by 5mm, or about 1/3. It’s on HKParts.net right now
I have that on one of mine. It’s better, but not a huge difference. Now if you also install the GrayGuns short reset in addition to the 4.1, THAT is a nice setup.
My first HK was a HK45 V7 several years ago... that thing had the worst trigger pull even after I sent it back for the Light LEM conversion. Couldn't get rid of it fast enough and eventually ended up with a Cimarron Henry 1860. Fast forward to today, and shooting P-series LEM's in heavy and light (P2000SK V2 and own a P30SK V1), I love those particular. So much so I'd love to have a P30L with the Todd Green set-up. Far and away the best trigger for the P30 and I think excellent for duty use. Still like HK45's, just in SA/DA...
The HK45 has the best lem stock, the p30 stock lem is terrible. I did the greyguns upgrade to the p30 so now it's better than the HK45. Problem with the lem trigger is it's just dreaming of being a striker trigger but can never achieve it. If you like hammer triggers, they are wonderful though but it's strictly a range gun for me.

Why is the LEM in the P series different from the LEM in the HK45?
The HK 45 is built off of the USP design with the safety/decocker on the side. The P series started doing the decocker on the back.
The HK45 uses the same trigger as the USP. It's basically a USP with a P30 styled frame.
