I totally agree with you, however this sort of market is literally jacking up prices on mobile homes that normally would never go for those type of prices....just because its become a "fad" for people to do now. Mobile homes, used, just a few years ago, some would sell for a few thousand dollars ( maybe around $4,000 to $5,000) dollars. Now, they are going for over $20,000 thousands dollars in some cases. Thats my argument, and not knocking what this woman is doing with her own money, because as I said, I agree with you, that its none of my business ( or anyone else's) what she does with her own money.
Tiny houses are getting more expensive every year. Ten years ago houses were around $5,000 and a really expensive one was $30,000. Most of them were 200 to 350 sq ft. Now I'm seeing more tinies around $80,000 to $150,000. They are also bigger 400 to 500 sq ft. They look more like small houses and have more amenities. If you can afford it and like a small but not too cramped space, it's worth it.
The one saving grace about this is that the house can be moved anywhere. Very convenient given she is able to find lots where she needs to and has a job that requires her to do so. But it sucks because it’s still a lot of money and much too small as a living space for growing children. I couldn’t live here with more than one other adult and maybe a cat or tiny dog. I hope she can get situated somewhere she and her gremlins have pet room. I feel like many Americans are just gravitating towards this trend because they don’t believe that regular homes have any value or opportunities for anyone but the extremely wealthy (given even the lamest houses can run up to millions if they’re in the “right neighborhood “)
Wow, so many negative price comments Looks amazing. A trashy home in Boulder is well over a million. Peace of mind she has to not switch schools and be stable. Amazing.
As you mention, one of the advantages of a tiny home is being able to move it to another location. But, I’ve always wondered how many tiny homes ever actually get relocated. I’ve read that mobile homes, despite the name, are rarely moved once purchased and parked. It’s expensive to move these and places that permit tiny homes are limited.
@@Dogsnarktrailers cannot be moved when they are older. Lots of people in trailer parks cry over that unfortunate fact. No solid foundation? No land? Depreciating asset?
I don’t think she’s paying a mortgage, she’s renting the space her home is on. And I don’t think it would cost less than $200k to build a house on land. Unless it’s that cheap in Colorado.
@@chanmarr8118 but maybe she did get a loan. We don't really know. Unless you saw the whole story where she sold a home to build that and used thar money...this person makes a good point.
Not sure where you could get a house for that price. It's definitely on the higher end for a tiny, but it's large and very well equipped. Where I am in Virginia, the average home is close to $700k. I don't have a budget for a tiny this nice, so I'm looking at a renovated RV, but I completely understand the price she paid.
It's great if you can go wherever you want and make a living. Not everyone can do that. You can move and hope to get a job where you want to live. But, more often than not, the lifestyle you live and the work you are good at, isn't available in the place that is cheaper.
You are correct, however there are actually even more considerations. I have MS, one of our children is a high level gymnast, our son wants to be a pilot(in addition to law school), plus we have a swimmer & dancer(a bit more common activities) There aren't many places in the country that can meet all of our needs!! Most rural areas for sure aren't going to do it. Just medical care alone can be difficult to find/coordinate outside of a major city. And that's assuming hubs could find a job in that area. No thanks!!
@@michaelcrowley9008 When in areas like Boulder, where fires demolish many homes, this is mobile. There are increasingly more places to park these and the greater the demand, the more places will open. Its one of an increasing number of micro housing options.
Hi guys, a nice tiny home it appears appears quite spacious for the design, notice the gap between to second loft and the stair, concern for a child climbing the room.
She paid what I paid to buy an old place on 1/3 acre and renovate it. Her monthly payment is more than mine would be (I have none) if I took out an Equity Line of credit (LOC) to do the roof, siding, and have it painted. And my house should last 15 yrs without any other maintenance (I have new plumbing, electrical, a shored up foundation, new HVAC, and a garage. Oh, also 2 more bedrooms and another bath!
There is one in Thornton Colorado that would be just south of Boulder Colorado. Maybe she got it done there. Just Google search builders. They are popular in many states. And even if you can't find one near you, they offer shipping.
Huh?! You don’t even own the land underneath the house, the thing that makes it appreciate throughout the years. Anything with wheels depreciates with time!
No one is looking for a tiny house to gain equity. The purpose is to be able to afford a decent life daily. The space rent is no different then paying a no good HOA fee. Alot of people just don't get it. This is Brilliant
Research home and rental costs in her area, and you'll see that she made a wise investment for herself. Where I am (east coast), homes sell for $700k and up, and rent for a 2BR apartment averages over $2k. She spent $175k, and her ongoing cost is just the lot rent. That may be high compared to some places, but not in her area, or lots of others.
@Whyuwannaknow4 The cost of the home depends on size, material, and features. Lot rent depends on location, size, and amenities. I've seen lots for $300 in the sticks that were just land, no utility connections, septic, or water. This is not that, so the price, in an expensive area, is logically higher.
The head room in your bedrooms is nice, cute...Yes very light and airy.. very nice, like the design don't feel wall closing in on you. Very nice. See the only thing worth the cost you can move it. But so lovely inside.
$175k? How much does a stick-built 2 bedroom home cost to construct? Land not included, but she’s renting land for $725/ month… And this will depreciate. Beautiful, but idk about this one…
The average home price in Boulder, CO is 1 million dollars. 175k by comparison is a steal. To even rent a 2 bedroom in that area will set her back $2000-4,000 per month. She's getting a steal
The lot she keeps her tiny house on is $725. When i was a teen back 20 years ago, my parents paid $250-$300 for the lot to keep our RV on and that was a good deal even back then

I dont understand the rent part. When you pay for something to be built, you own it. That's the whole point; you no longer pay rent or mortgage for that matter. The only thing that should cost is utilities and a lot fee to have a permanent place to park it. In that case 725 seems like alot so it'd be better to invest in a piece of land so in between traveling, they always have a place to take their tiny home that isn't costing them monthly. In anycase this is beautiful. I love watching videos like this.

Thats my argument, and not knocking what this woman is doing with her own money, because as I said, I agree with you, that its none of my business ( or anyone else's) what she does with her own money.
I SWEAR it is MANDATORY for tiny home people to use the phrase "TONS of storage"! 😂
They're trying to convince themselves 😊
Tiny houses are getting more expensive every year. Ten years ago houses were around $5,000 and a really expensive one was $30,000. Most of them were 200 to 350 sq ft. Now I'm seeing more tinies around $80,000 to $150,000. They are also bigger 400 to 500 sq ft. They look more like small houses and have more amenities. If you can afford it and like a small but not too cramped space, it's worth it.
All manner of houses are getting more expensive every year.
@@crucialtaunt5717$175k for 500sqft, may as well get an rv 🤷🏻♀️
Love the design of this tiny home😊
Modern mobile homes are well built and beautiful. You could of bought land and a new mobile home for that price 😮
So you paid as much as a small house would cost to build it, and are still paying a mortgage payment ontop of that? how is this a win again?
I don’t think she’s paying a mortgage, she’s renting the space her home is on. And I don’t think it would cost less than $200k to build a house on land. Unless it’s that cheap in Colorado.
@@chanmarr8118 but maybe she did get a loan. We don't really know. Unless you saw the whole story where she sold a home to build that and used thar money...this person makes a good point.
750 Rent to park it!
Where tf you paying 175 for a house?😂😂😂
Not sure where you could get a house for that price. It's definitely on the higher end for a tiny, but it's large and very well equipped. Where I am in Virginia, the average home is close to $700k. I don't have a budget for a tiny this nice, so I'm looking at a renovated RV, but I completely understand the price she paid.
Beautiful windows on the upper part. Lets in such gorgeous light and illusion of space.
725$ for a lot is absolutely insane it shouldn't even be half that
Most mobile home parks here in California cost at least $750 a month, for a tiny space.
Great design. Only thing Id add is glass panel up to ceiling from storage by bed & a door so you both have audio privacy in your bedrooms.
For 175 I'll buy a nice rural home in rust belt for 80-100k and modernize it with the remainder
The key words were. "Hi, I am outside Boulder Colorado.". I live here, she just skipped out a save. Amazing
Depends on where you want to live and if mobility is important. The average home in my county is $700k.
It's great if you can go wherever you want and make a living. Not everyone can do that. You can move and hope to get a job where you want to live. But, more often than not, the lifestyle you live and the work you are good at, isn't available in the place that is cheaper.
You are correct, however there are actually even more considerations.
I have MS, one of our children is a high level gymnast, our son wants to be a pilot(in addition to law school), plus we have a swimmer & dancer(a bit more common activities)
There aren't many places in the country that can meet all of our needs!!
Affordable ? $725 a month for lot rent is outrageous.
Beautiful tiny house! And God bless you on your journey!
Yep definitely moving to Thailand. $300 for a beach condo with a pool and gym.
She paid $175k to build the home and the rental cost separately is $725.
THIS IS GORGEOUS
The tiny home is so cozy 😊❤.
Sadly, the greedy landowner/landlord will keep raising the space rent until it is very unaffordable.
I am seeing videos now for small manufactured capsule homes that are like 20 grand. Now these tiny homes are getting so expensive!
WHO DID YOU USE TO BUILD THIS FOR YOU? IT’S JUST BEAUTIFUL!! I’M VERY HAPPY FOR YOU!
Why are you screaming?
Her definition of tiny house is larger than mine. How many Cubic feet is that.
Hi guys, a nice tiny home it appears appears quite spacious for the design, notice the gap between to second loft and the stair, concern for a child climbing the room.
How can I make this happen for myself? Tell me more please - this is amazing. Thanks
Well you can start by learning to think for yourself.
Lol😂 people are so rude these days
She paid what I paid to buy an old place on 1/3 acre and renovate it. Her monthly payment is more than mine would be (I have none) if I took out an Equity Line of credit (LOC) to do the roof, siding, and have it painted. And my house should last 15 yrs without any other maintenance (I have new plumbing, electrical, a shored up foundation, new HVAC, and a garage. Oh, also 2 more bedrooms and another bath!
Love that it's so bright and without a feeling of narrowness!
This is the closest design to what I want. Good job.
I Love it, do you sale your footprints of the tiny house?
Wow!! Lot of money but perfectly beautiful!!!
Who's the builder? We're looking for something similar
There is one in Thornton Colorado that would be just south of Boulder Colorado. Maybe she got it done there. Just Google search builders. They are popular in many states. And even if you can't find one near you, they offer shipping.
mitchcraft tiny homes.
Sooo beautiful. I can absolutely do this solo!
This tiny home is gorgeous I love it!
I need a longer video!
Tiny is a simple word till you ask people to show you what they perceive is. That's a beautiful home.
Huh?! You don’t even own the land underneath the house, the thing that makes it appreciate throughout the years. Anything with wheels depreciates with time!
Peeps she financed 175,000 - the down payment. Problem is.... if paid out over 20-30 years. $275k-$400k. And will depreciate dramatically. Screwed.
Or she paid $175k and 750 to lease a spot to drop it. $10k a year. And continues to depreciate....screwed.
No one is looking for a tiny house to gain equity. The purpose is to be able to afford a decent life daily. The space rent is no different then paying a no good HOA fee. Alot of people just don't get it. This is Brilliant
I was like wait what, did i hear that correctly?! 175k just to build it! And then paying rent! Might as well buy a piece of land for that
Absolutely beautiful
This is insane cost and still another almost $700 a month wow it’s wild how people who are honestly rich don’t see how crazy they spend their $.
It's beautiful
Are you crazy? That’s outrageous!
Beautiful home happy for you and your daughter enjoy your journey ♥️
So happy for you and your daughter. This is a beautiful home.🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️😻😻
Love these bedroom designs..and this farmhouse look
All of these tiny homes make me drowsy because they're so cozy. 😴
The head room in your bedrooms is nice, cute...Yes very light and airy.. very nice, like the design don't feel wall closing in on you. Very nice. See the only thing worth the cost you can move it. But so lovely inside.
Wow. ..good styling
Very well done and very impressive design. Thanks for sharing!
Lucky you, its beautiful, I'd live there
Gorgeous!!!!
Almost $200k for a trailer that will depreciate? No land? Ever increasing land rent?
The idea of tiny house was affordable over a hundred grand isn't affordable you got screwed
It is so pretty!😊
$175k? How much does a stick-built 2 bedroom home cost to construct? Land not included, but she’s renting land for $725/ month… And this will depreciate. Beautiful, but idk about this one…
I was thinking the same thing, and $725 isn't cheap
Maybe this is the only ‘luxury’ or close to, she’ll ever be able to afford so she jumped the gun lol. Idk if you thought about that
The average home price in Boulder, CO is 1 million dollars. 175k by comparison is a steal. To even rent a 2 bedroom in that area will set her back $2000-4,000 per month. She's getting a steal
I love your place !
This is nice ❤
Beautiful.
That place is awesome!
Good for you! I can only dream of this! It will happen! Good luck in all you do!
I want to see the tub! Great layout. I'd love to live in something like that. ❤
Gorgeous!!
My only concern. For this is if you are In an area that has tornados like the south is if it is weather protection. Beautiful home 🏡
I love it!
Wow I love this one. It's absolutely Beautiful.
The lot she keeps her tiny house on is $725. When i was a teen back 20 years ago, my parents paid $250-$300 for the lot to keep our RV on and that was a good deal even back then
Nice tiny home, jealous.
It's nice and you did an outstanding job...A well built Single Wide trailer would have been a good choice especially raising kids...At any rate I wish You well on you and your children's life's journey.I must say,You are very talented. You could start/have an extremely positive career in remodeling, construction, designing Home's..Good Luck and GodBless..Can't wait to see what you design next..😃☀🌻🌞🌼😀..
So cute! Who built it?
My parents brought their 3 bed room house (Brand New) in 1965 for less than $20,000. I heard that house in that same area are going for over $300 thousand now and they are like over 50 years old. Hard to believe how the price has gone up so much.
Omg you pay as much as people spend on property tax or fees for a condominium! I had no CLUE colorado was in demand these days lol
great tiny home design!
what are the measurements please?
34 × 10
Oh I love it.❤❤❤❤
I really love a lot of the choices you made because I would always wish to have a really great bathroom as well and a bear claw tub for me and I love the fact you made a big bed as well and then you have the space with the high ceilings is perfect and I like the idea of having actual stairs also I would put a railing though for both of the stairs and I love all the space you have in the kitchen and all the storage you have in the bathroom. Really great job
Bought a $480,000 house in 2016. One down the street this year sold for $680,000. How’s the value of this thing over time? No pain, no gain
Cool nice skylights
You have a beautiful home
