I reckon in terms of making friends - I always recommend putting yourself out there by joining a club or talking to people in tutes/ pracs! slowly but surely you'll find people you just CLICK with!! although everyone is busy in their own lives - finding some time to hang out (even just once) with a new friend is always a good start ;) it sounds basic - but I do hear that some first years just find it hard to make some uni friends! so that would be my biggest advice hehe

aw twinning!! i actually love my textbooks to death (you might've noticed last year i often borrowed from the lib!) but my lecturers emphasise that most of the examinable content will be purely from the lecture slides rather than the textbook so I focus more on the lectures :)
