    A.) 10 backwards kicks
    B.) Lunge, hold 30 seconds
    + backward lunge
    C.) Laying leg lift as close to your chest as you can, hold for 30 seconds
    D.) Pike stretch or sitting pike stretch, both great for stretching out your hamstrings
    Finally
    E.) Split, hold for 1 minute straight

    Hey! While flexibility is an amazing thing we still need to remind ourselves about mobility. Sometimes they can seem like the same thing but flexibility is how far you can stretch and mobility is how much you can move! If you over stretch then you mobility decreases. Therefore getting normal splits is a perfectly healthy thing but when we get into over splits we start to see a problem. Over stretching can actually cause a problem within your joints in the tendons. See when you normally stretch you are stretching your muscles and muscles are like rubber bands, once you stretch them they will go back into a healthy place. However when you stretch tendons they will never go back into the proper place and over stretching does this to the body. Tendons help with body structure and the looser your tendons are (for example in the hips) you start to feel less supported and this is how a lot of people end up having to get a hip replacement in there elder years. I am a dancer and in my career focus mobility and flexibility come hand in hand but it is not just dance. In order to live a happy and healthy life you must have an equal balance in both. This comment is not a strike to the creator of this short as I really do love their content, I am just warning the side effects of over stretching

      I am also a dancer. Do you have any advice on how to improve flexibility and mobility like you mentioned? I need to improve my flexibility, but I really struggle even to touch my toes with my fingers.

    There is one more super important stretching you do to get your splits and that’s the quad stretch. And you do it from your lunch stretch. From your lunch stretch, you bend your back leg and hold it with your opposite arm. I danced since I was two years old and was a professional dancer for six years. I also taught dance for 40 years. Had my own studio for 35 years. I also was in adjudicator for dance competitions for seven years.trust me you need the quad stretch to help you achieve your splits.

    As a rhythmic gymnast, I often forget that most people can't do the splits. Like I'll be at the beach and suddenly think "damn the person at the towel next to mine probably can't do a split, that's insane!

    These stretches really work, I've been practicing it since 2 days and I'm getting very good result. I'll reach out here again when I get full splits along with the time period it took. Practice these everyday you will surely get great results soon. Tq soo much❤

    I used to be able to do the splits when I did gymnastics but I quit due to bullying and now can no longer do them but I’m gonna save this video and open up some time to get it back, thanks xx

    I watched you when I was five and perfected my front splits I had mental health problems a little while ago and quit my daily stretching five more years later I just did one of these stretches and I can do the splits yet again

    Omg thank you so much!!❤ I couldn't go lower and I was stuck at one point in my splits but today I tried the thing with the pillows and I was able to sit in the split!! I am so happy😊 Try this metod if you're stuck
