I have allways supported Orient but back in Oxfords golden era i chose to follow Oxford on some away days..i seethem at Norwich, Ipswich and Wembley..I was the Orient boy in the Oxford end at the 1986 Milk Cup final..Jim smith had to bear forty thousand Oxford fans singing "you should of stayed at the manor!..Ken Fish had his day!
I was in charge of one of the Orient Supporters Club coaches ,a really nail biting last couple of minutes. The roar of the Crowd when Northampton equalized , then the legend, that was Lee Steele scored our winner 14 seconds later. Getting back to the Orient, I was totally drained with emotion, and the long, long agonizing day took it's toll. I went home, and straight to bed!
It was one of my best experiences seeing Orient play away - Unbelievable day having endured so many heart breaking days where things did not go Os way - It was pure delirium when Orient snatched a winner at the death - The Oxford fans were so angry and came on to punch our players after the final whistle - Then it all kicked off - Then mounted police came on the pitch - I never ever seen anything like it - I could not care as I had a smile on my face that refused to go away - So much drama - We came back to East London and all went down the boozer - still smiling and laughing - What a great day... Next Saturday I return to Oxford to see the Os play there again - Oh how times fly... I'm sure those memories will come flooding back.

I was 7 when I went to that match. Didn’t even understand the importance of it at the time. Not until everyone was going mental at the end 😂
