I picked one of these up a few months ago to compare directly to my Ferro Concepts FCPC v5, as they are really the only two minimalist structural carriers on the market. The Crye carrier so far has just seemed like a pain in the ass so far. It doesn’t distribute weight any better than the Ferro, it makes attaching any pouches other than Crye a chore, and it exposes your plates to the elements. The Ferro carrier exhibits the same positive qualities as the Crye, but without any of the downsides, while costing less. One additional note: the Crye cummerbund does not seem to be very flexible whatsoever with how your body moves. The Ferro cummerbund has some give in it to accommodate layering, mobility, and your chest expanding with heavy breathing. It does all of this without sacrificing its structural attributes. The Crye cummerbund feels like you are locked into a cage.

Hey Tactical girlfriend hope all is well. Question don't you find the adjustment strap on your slingster a little awkward to adjust. I finally moved away from my Vickers sling to try the Fero sling and I found it not as easy or quick to sinch it down or loosen it? I'm trying to get use to it but I have to reach further back to grab the adjustment strap and pull the sling away from my body. Honestly, I have three and find them really easy to quickly adjust. Not sure about that! Maybe it might be how it's positioned/adjusted in terms of length on the ends?
@@TacticoolGirlfriend indeed, after closer inspection thats exactly whats going on. I can sinch or take up more out of the rear on the Vickers as I can out of the Slingster and still get the fast adjustment pull strap to sit more to the front of my body. Haha this one looks great but the review helps me to know it won't really work for my needs. I carry concealed plates with my carrier underneath my work coveralls. The thick straps of this will print to much, and the cummerbund wont let me stick a pistol up in there on my side as a make shift concealed holster. Also not really liking the idea of a open to the elements carrier for my plates, since I'm rolling around under houses and attics as a handy man 8 - 16hrs a day, so the plates would get pretty gunked up and dinged pretty fast I'd imagine. Though they are under my coveralls haha so maybe not. Super techy though I like it! Not a bad price either, but just not what I could use for my purposes atm. Had to think of my game plan, and looking back at my original post I was kind of ignorant in differentiating my purpose of this new carrier. I have a concealed carrier via my AC1, what I need now is a more overt duty one that isn't encumbering. Still dislike the openness of the carrier, but I'll cross that issue when I find it actually causes me issues haha. Hope it serves us well, and thanks for sharing your review - it was greatly helpful in my search.
Took over 2 months but my spc finally came in! Took a good bit of tinkering to get it all together and fitted, but having now played with it I like it. Yet to try it with kit (I likely will run pretty slick), but it really feels nice, and the features it has gives me little in feel of lacking. Was worried the plates would be to exposed, and yes it is more so than other carriers, but honestly its not to bad overall. I think its not to big a deal for now but mud will suck for sure haha. May make it easier to clean thigh as well. Good design to deal with sweat and the weather in general being open. Clingly thorns and branches may prove annoying though. Shoulder straps really dont have much room to play with for smaller folk. I got it to worrk for me, but it could be better. Got a medium carrier and small cummerbund (thanks for the tip here a small was the way to go for sure - likely saves me alot of time and money). It does sit pretty comfy, and I like how the quick insta release of the straps and bund can be used in a bad situation. The design is real nice. I also really like how it has one extra spot on the bottom of the carrier to have the rear sit higher on the body vs chest. I like it high back low front significantly. Its a pain in the but to adjust anything though like the cumberbund tightness and height since it requires re looping everything. But it will stay in place and wont be going anywhere. But still feel it could have been some better solution for quickly adjusting the bund to the carrier. Literally feel like im weaving a basket trying to make everything fit just right haha. So far so good though. Cost me like 300 something for carrier, frront panel molle, and bund. Pricy, but if you want fancy its worth it. Imagine folks may be better off with other cheaper but just as effective options though.
