    Its odd that all of these stories like this on Garth always leave out that in 2008 Garth brooks sold out 9 consecutive shows in Kansas City where he flew home every night to take his daughters to school every morning and then picked them up from school in the afternoon and would fly out just hours before the show

    I love Garth. He is a genuine person who loves his kids with all his heart. I remember when the kids were little and he was married to Sandy, they just loved each other but knew when they had enough and were better to be divorced then kill or hate each other. Now he is married to Trisha and they seem to compliment each other.

    This was a good video, but not great! First of all, he may have been born in Tulsa, but he grew up in Yukon and graduated from high school in 1980. Second, the bar wear he met his first wife, Sandy is called Tumbleweed Dancehall, which closed in December 2006. Third, Garth’s children weren’t born until he was already a household name! Taylor Mayne Pearl(1992), August Anna(1994) and Allie Colleen(1996). Fourth, his divorce from Sandy was filed in November 2000 and finalized in December 2001. He married Trisha Yearwood in December 2005! Finally, he’s now a grandfather thanks to his daughter, August , who gave birth in 2013 to a daughter named Karalynn. I felt it important to set the record straight for several reasons. Garth was a measly freshman, when I was a senior at Yukon High School. Our hometown is so proud of him that we renamed the OK State Highway 92 to Garth Brooks Blvd. and his name is on the city’s water tower next to Interstate 40, so anyone traveling down that road will see it! Yukon was created during the Run of 1889, which my great-grandparents successfully settled down off that very highway. At the cemetery where his beloved mother is buried, my aunts, uncles and cousins are buried very close by. When I go visit my family’s graves, I always pay my respects to his mother, because without her....Garth wouldn’t be here! He is still a caring and humble person, which is so refreshing. They even have a home here in Oklahoma

    Garth had a live show that was comparable to KISS in rock. It was extremely energetic and he drew the young audience into country music in a bigger way than any artist ever did. I guess you could blame him in a small way for the way country shows have turned more into rock shows. I'm sure that was great for him and great for the Nashville executives and concert sales especially in the USA but it eneded up being bad for traditional country in the end. I worked in country since 1977 and watched all of this happen. Garth is great person though and puts on one hell of a show still today in his older age. his shows in the 90's were as i said earlier a really energetic hard hitting show.

    • @MessianicMermaid
      @MessianicMermaid Год назад

      This is a late reply, but I was at those 90s concerts and given that Garth can captivate an audience with just a guitar and none of the fanfare he has at his live shows like he did at the Vegas residency in 2011, I personally pinpoint Big & Rich performing 'Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy' on the CMAs or ACMs (whichever it was) as the catalyst that let the rappers and sexual content into country. In my opinion, if it's marked with an 'explicit content' warning on iTunes, it isn't country. Country has standards and I think Garth embodies them well while still appealing to and influencing the new crowd.

    12:59 ohh Wow I didn't know that the video for "friends in low places" had any domestic violence in it whatsoever, nor did I know there was even an official music video for that song. Here I thought it was the thunder rolls. Oh silly me 😂, For reals though this video should've been fact checked before release 😂.

    I really wish these people would get the information correct on the whole Chris Gaines thing. He wasn’t trying out a new genre or alter ego...it was a fictional role for a movie that unfortunately never got made. They showed a clip of him talking about that very thing and then followed it up with the blonde lady and the Brit saying he’s trying to go pop. Who was the editor for this and why don’t they use his actual interview clips as a source of information? He literally explained it all and they completely ignored it.

    Is it just me or did the announcer call Travis Tritt the wrong name because it showed a picture of Travis Tritt but they said Alan Jackson. Also Steve Warner's name. The narrator said Steve's last name wrong but what do you expect when you're not used to hearing the singers names or reading the right way

    #16:10 I can remember when “The Thunder Rolls” got banned from CMT. I lead the charge to get that bad boy put back on CMT. Shortly after I initiated the first letter to them about the banning of that song/video, while they yet put on the video of “Earl Had To Die”; which not only sang about killing someone… But actually SHOWED someone being killed in the video. Needless to say; after my letter had went to them, and a bunch more people echoed the same thing, now you can actually view that video on CMT. You’re welcome.

    Did anyone even review this doc before it was published? So much wrong information. The Chris Gaines segment really pissed me off. They showed a clip of him saying it was a film project and that he was acting a fictional role and not going pop. Then a second later that blonde lady was saying that he developed an alter ego to get into pop. The times he was seen in public dressed like CG was when they were in downtown shooting videos for the songs. It was a role he was playing for a movie. Know your facts before you create an hour long documentary...especially when there’s so much contradiction between the commentators and the clips showing the exact words coming out of his mouth. This doc went downhill fast!

      Even though that's his official title, I feel like every generation has their own "King". Hank Williams in the 30's & 40's. Johnny Cash 50's & 60's. George Strait 70's & 80's. Garth Brooks 90's & 00's. But that's just my opinion.
