Spanish football is sooo beautiful to watch. I had to root for them even though Horan is on Lyon. So much beautiful drama for the Spanish with both their current golden boot player and their past golden boot player scoring. We are witnessing a golden era of Spanish soccer and one I hope our uswnt players are watching and wanting to emulate. Mainly they rely on each other soo much and are such good team players.

I don't think that it is going so simple to implement xavi tried to do th in soudi arabia and it was so difficult. In US players are more physical over technical players. I believe that he is going to do a good job there but it is not going to even close to barcelona. The barça DNA takes years and infrastructure of knowledge like La Masia. In general football in US is growing but it is so far compare to argentina or Brasil

While we speak about how incredible what Barcelona have done and their influence, it's equally important to speak about Aitana's recent comments about the attitude about women's football in Spain. Granted, she spoke more about how nothing has changed since the World Cup win for them, but I want to make sure we don't gloss over the issues because of their success. They deserve the Gold standard they are setting across all levels.

You have to understand, lyons invested in womens football way before all these other teams. Is why lyons won those WCL. Now its different, alot more of mens football club is investing in womens football, is why lyons wont win as easy anymore.
I was cheering gor Barcelona while wearing my Alexis jersey. The only bad part was watching Horan play absolutely brilliant and not getting results from her team mates. I love Horan was hard to watch her lose.

I have watched Barcelona since the two English players arrived. They are brilliant to watch, but the other Spanish teams are falling behind, unlike how WSL is strengthening to try to catch Chelsea. I commented before that US investment, linked to sending young US players to learn and play in Spain, would surely benefit both?

How good was the crowd and support for Barca. Fairytale for Barca. I remembered what DvD said about Wendy and when she removed her medal it reflected exactly what she said. I wanted Lyon to win but I think the occasion and crowd made them nervous. Couldn’t convert because they had plenty of opportunities. Wendy’s miss right in front will haunt her. Carol doesn't get on ballon d'or primarily because of team norway struggling to get far on the world stage aka world cup, euros, olympics. Its interesting this question regarding where US team and leagues are going comapred with European teams and leagues.
I do sort of agree with aspects with Rodger, its scary the thought of the elite mens teams starting to tap into their preexisting infrastructure for the women's, in particular establishment of well funded acadamies from young ages like the boys team.
Although there is so much investment going into NWSL, if you look at it on paper it'll be hard to match prexisting infrastructure and know how of the top mens teams in europe. However thats only for european clubs that can actually be bothered to invest in their womens teams of course. Some cant be arsed
