All hail the crew and creatives during a panto. The first to arrive on site and often the last to leave. Special mention to the hundreds of Stage Managers keeping all those shows going safely and in time!
I've never felt emotional about panto before, but hearing you explain panto to an international audience makes me feel so loving of such an inherently British experience. We all have this collective memory and I adore it.
As someone who was born and raised in California, I had no idea what she was talking about when she's mentioned panto in the past. I think Oliver was in it one year that she said years back. The only "panto" I've ever "seen" is the one they do in "Anne with an E" the Netflix show. I want to live in London so badly and the energy around your community experience of this christmas tradition is something I would love to be a part of! We don't have stuff like that here, so it really is special to you guys 🥰
As someone who is British. Trust me, I've been going to panto most of my life & it is a unique theatre experience; if you ever get the chance to visit the UK in December/January (sometimes panto starts near the end of November) go & see a panto if you can. They're amazing for all ages 3yrs +. 1 of the things that makes them great is that famous people from stage & screen get involved every yr, there's different people in cities & towns across the country & they're happy to be made a fool of. Definitely would recommend that anyone outside of UK who hasn't been to see a pantomime aka panto before come & see 1 they're really awesome. I'm going to see 2 pantos this season & cannot wait - unfortunately not Canterbury as it's a bit far to go on public transport. But both still are going to be fun 🤩
@@rachelbridgewater4550 Thank you! I'll definitely try! 🥰 With any luck I'll be in the Musical Theatre industry myself and get to do some shows in the UK! They always say broadway is the goal but I don't want to live in america if I don't have to!
I didn't know the words and sequence for the ghost gag were so universal! "Well, we'll have to sing it again that, won't we? Whoops!" is a core memory for so many of us!!!
I have met Carrie and let me tell you she is one of the nicest people you could ever meet I met here when covid was going crazy and she felt so bad that she couldn’t take photos with people love u Carrie and I love your vids ❤❤
Carrie, I'm currently doing panto in college at the moment and I'm the ghost for the ghost gag! It was lovely getting to hear about the origins of it from you!
I’m also in Panto this Christmas in Guildford, and i love to watch along and see you all on a similar schedule. I feel a sense of Panto solidarity! Thanks Carrie x
Absolutely brilliant! Wish I could see the show especially as Hellfire is one of my favourite Disney songs with Hunchback as one of my top 10. Absolutely loved seeing the sneak peak you sounded AMAZING and I hope there is a full version somewhere in the future xx
My parents worked with Ben Roddy a few times over the years and have always said he's such a kind and funny man. It's so nice seeing the references to him in your vlogs. My dad is currently playing dame in panto 100 miles away so it's been really comforting and familiar watching your panto vlogs. Great job to all the cast and crew!
Hope it's going well Carrie; it seems to be a punishing show schedule! Can't wait to see you; got tickets for January. I have heard great reviews. Found out the day we booked is affected by train strikes (we are in Hastings) so we have the perfect excuse for a night in the Premier Inn. Sorted!
just relaxing at home watching this after coming back from the panto today! the whole show was absolutely amazing and you were incredible! i had such a good time and cried with laughter it was so funny! thank you for coming to canterbury i am so glad i finally got the chance to see you live
I’m a big fan of going to the Panto. I try and go every year, and it’s so much fun to see everyone shouting “It’s behind you”, booing at the Villains and singing or clapping along.
I love the Marlowe panto been going for years. Dave Lee was an incredible person. I’m so pleased they keep the bench in every year and also still mention him. I came on opening night and also last night. It is amazing. Xx
Dave is greatly missed in the Canterbury area, he raised so much for charity over the years and he was brilliant every year in the Panto... he was also one of the Ugly Sisters in Jim Davidson's classic Sinderella. Love the statue they put outside the Marlowe for him, sitting on 'the bench' ... Panto wouldnt be the same without that gag in!
Congratulations Carrie it looks like you're having a great time in panto! I'm in my first panto this year and it's soo different from other types of theatre being able to acknowledge that the audience is there and interact with them. It's a lot of fun!
Oh I am so unbelievably excited to see this soon. My year isn't complete without a marlowe panto and Ben is just epic!! Cannot wait to see you Carrie, you look truly phenomenal 😍 ❤️
We have our first panto here in San Francisco this year. Explaining it to my friends who’ve never seen one was quite the interesting experience. One of my friends was like “ so it’s a holiday rocky horror show?’ 😂
I know how you feel when it comes to morning shows. At my local summer theatre, we had kids shows early in the morning then had our main shows in the afternoon and evening. Long long days but they go by so fast!
Oh this is making me yearn for panto so bad ❤ my dad performs in a local village panto each year, and this year he’s the dame which we’re all very excited for!
I went to see it!! And have been going to see pantos at the Marlowe for as long as I can remember and fun fact, back in 2019 when they still had kids in Marlowe pantos, I was in one, mother goose!! One of the best experiences ever
I would be so interested to hear all about your thoughts on pantomime - what made you decide to do one this year, what your thoughts are generally etc.
This makes me so excited I’m performing in a pantomime this Christmas we are doing Peter Pan and we start next week just makes me so excited and nervous ♥️
Hi Carrie, I'm a new subscriber\ fan to your channel. I love your vlogs and watching your interactions with your cast mates. I volunteer at some of my local theatres doing tech crew (mainly light board) and it's always so much fun.
I am obsessed with her beautiful grey and orange floral robe at the beginning of the video- does anyone know where it is from or what brand it is? TIA. 🧡
I do am dram really close to canterbury and we always have to have the ghost bench gag in it. Our panto is mid January, but this year the ghost gets adventurous and ends up in other places too! :D
I have no idea what Vocalzone are made of, but they saved my butt when I got laryngitis whilst I was also meant to be teaching maths... would strongly recommend!!
This vlog was amazing! I didn't even know panto existed until you talked about it. But is panto with an orchestra/band or with a tape? And what type of music do you prefer?
I saw y’all last week and it was absolutely fantastic, I’m definitely dragging some friends along. Do you prefer the forehead mics or the Britney mics? I feel like I’m more likely to knock a Britney mic with my inability to speak without my hands 😂
As an American with only vague knowledge of panto, I have zero idea what is happening but it looks fun! I was somewhat following and then the dinosaurs showed up
Thankyou for filming all the backstage footage. Watching this I believe they bring the curtain down far too early, especially on your solo song. The audience really miss your last top note and it's a great shame! 😥
I believe it’s one of those see through curtains as long as there’s a spotlight on it. So only when the lights go out you don’t see them anymore. That’s ✨the magic of theatreee✨
All hail the crew and creatives during a panto.

I’m from America and haven’t heard of this theater form before. It sounds wild (in the best way)! I’d love to see one one day.
Could you do a perfume collection video? It would be amazing to see and hear the stories attached to each! 💕
I didn't know the words and sequence for the ghost gag were so universal! "Well, we'll have to sing it again that, won't we? Whoops!" is a core memory for so many of us!!!
I just love the way there’s a dinosaur standing waiting patiently in the wings!😂🦕🤣
I have met Carrie and let me tell you she is one of the nicest people you could ever meet I met here when covid was going crazy and she felt so bad that she couldn’t take photos with people love u Carrie and I love your vids ❤❤
I love these kind of vlogs with lots of backstage interactions and behind the curtain sneak peeks! Always so entertaining ♥️♥️
Carrie, I'm currently doing panto in college at the moment and I'm the ghost for the ghost gag! It was lovely getting to hear about the origins of it from you!
This could be the Panto of the year. I know two 8 year olds that are begging to come back and see this again.
I’m also in Panto this Christmas in Guildford, and i love to watch along and see you all on a similar schedule. I feel a sense of Panto solidarity! Thanks Carrie x

So fun seeing you and everyone on stage, I bet the audience loved the show. All the best for the rest of the shows.
Really enjoying these behind the scenes vlogs Carrie! And just the way you structure the videos

Loving the Carriebosse Chronicles! x
I love the Marlowe panto been going for years. Dave Lee was an incredible person. I’m so pleased they keep the bench in every year and also still mention him. I came on opening night and also last night. It is amazing. Xx

Hoping to come and watch inbetween Christmas and new year it looks like so much fun ! ❤️
I saw you on Sunday and it was just the best experience! You were all amazing!!!!!!
This is one of my favourite vlogs ever from you, I used to be part of an amateur dramatic panto group and it just brought back so many memories x
We have our first panto here in San Francisco this year. Explaining it to my friends who’ve never seen one was quite the interesting experience. One of my friends was like “ so it’s a holiday rocky horror show?’ 😂
Haha the classic ‘is anyone naked’ of a theatre vlog. Glad to have a new series, can’t wait to see what you and the cast get up to!
I know how you feel when it comes to morning shows. At my local summer theatre, we had kids shows early in the morning then had our main shows in the afternoon and evening. Long long days but they go by so fast!

So much fun to watch this!!!
"Is anyone naked?" "Would you like me to be?" has me in a giggling fit 😭😂
Hi Carrie, I'm a new subscriber\ fan to your channel. I love your vlogs and watching your interactions with your cast mates. I volunteer at some of my local theatres doing tech crew (mainly light board) and it's always so much fun.
This truly looks like so much fun!!!
Thank god I'm listening to this in Feb, otherwise I could have failed Whammageddon!
I love the vlog and seeing all the behind the scenes stuff…but you just sent us all to Whamhalla 😩
I've heard that phrase so many times in different pantomimes I've seen. It's quite a classic line in pantos performed at Butlins! X
When Carrie posts a new video... DROP EVERYTHING 🤣
FR my heart stopped
I am obsessed with her beautiful grey and orange floral robe at the beginning of the video- does anyone know where it is from or what brand it is? TIA. 🧡
I do am dram really close to canterbury and we always have to have the ghost bench gag in it. Our panto is mid January, but this year the ghost gets adventurous and ends up in other places too! :D
Gotta love that the design in the perfume looks like the horns
I feel the beginnings of a new book brewing with the perfume story ❤️
Please say “wibble wobble” in every one of your videos
That gave me immense joy 🤩
I have no idea what Vocalzone are made of, but they saved my butt when I got laryngitis whilst I was also meant to be teaching maths... would strongly recommend!!
I love Panto so so much it’s so exciting!!😍😍
This vlog was amazing! I didn't even know panto existed until you talked about it. But is panto with an orchestra/band or with a tape? And what type of music do you prefer?
Carrie and Tom the duo I didn’t know I needed
I saw y’all last week and it was absolutely fantastic, I’m definitely dragging some friends along. Do you prefer the forehead mics or the Britney mics? I feel like I’m more likely to knock a Britney mic with my inability to speak without my hands 😂
As an American with only vague knowledge of panto, I have zero idea what is happening but it looks fun! I was somewhat following and then the dinosaurs showed up
This is why I love panto, the only place you can get Maleficent and Dinosaurs on stage together and it makes perfect sense!
I watched today, you and the whole cast was amazing
I love panto so much that it’s become a tradition every year for me on my birthday.
The ghost gag, it’s my childhood memory from The Marlowe. We’ll have to do it again then won’t we…
My mum played carrabose in 2015 she had this like blue wig and red warts and I cried on stage
Video idea for after the panto, a run through of all your show scents so far! :)
Great vlog‼
Ps: I had chance to listen/read On A Night Like This by Lindsey Kelk it was amazing‼
Can you give us a list of the perfumes you used for each role?
Aasrggghhh! Whamageddoned!!!
You could have put a warning at the start of the video... 🤣
Oooh! Hold on. Was it actually Wham singing it or the House Band. If the latter I'm ok.
❤ love ur vlogs carrie
To you and the rest of the cast; "break a leg" xx
Really wish I could come and see you in a show :(
sorry i’m sure there’s a more relevant comment i could leave but GODDAMN woman you look incredible in that costume 😶🌫️
Panto is the most fun anyone will ever have on stage
Do you need to use extra postage to send Christmas cards over seas? I’d like to send you one. ❤
It feels illegal to be this early 😅
Are you doing the same music this year in sleeping beauty?
Ahh Carrie. You just made a lot of people lose Whamageddon 🤣
7:30 - Does this count as a Whambush...?
9:20 anyone else get Heather Chandler vibes? 😂
i thought exact same thing!🤣
9:10 anyone recognise the song?
Baggy Trousers by The Madness!
I loved u in panto I saw u on the 27th November and you was amazing
Thankyou for filming all the backstage footage.
Watching this I believe they bring the curtain down far too early, especially on your solo song.
The audience really miss your last top note and it's a great shame! 😥
I believe it’s one of those see through curtains as long as there’s a spotlight on it. So only when the lights go out you don’t see them anymore. That’s ✨the magic of theatreee✨
Ah Carrie, you're my favourite human. Love a good Panto 👻👘👗👑
Heather Chandler has returned from the dead I see😂❤💛💚💙
I thought panto was a classical pantomime but with songs I guess 😅😅

Tom needs a job as a presenter 😂
