Maybe it’s the tyres, the operator or the machine as a whole but whatever it is it’s great to see a machine loading muck without wheels spinning, back end lifting and revving like mad. Great review and glad to see you back posting videos 🚜👍🏻😃
We have 3 different Loadalls, where I work, but years ago I used a Matbro loader and thought they were about the best. Certainly the artic design and arm in front is to me what makes sense. The fact that artic steering provides some side shift movement is a real bonus that the rigids just don't provide, great for loading pallets/ bags on lorries.
You summed this machine up v well Boss of the Job, looks well sorted & its playing with that muck & Grain bucket & its no small one neither... pleased your back & deffo like the credits 10/10 Mucka
Good morning just started watching RUclips your channel it’s so informative Easy listening to as I really know nothing about your field of work but enjoy your comments and knowledge things like: preventive maintenance and things to look for on an engine even your view on the engine coolant I found very interesting I guess you learn something new every day if you take the time to listen also the backdrop of the countryside is wonderful must be nice to be in your parts of the Country enjoy your day many thanks
I noticed that with CC turned on, RUclips translates the engine sounds to "[music]". So I guess the sound of the JCB Tm420 is "music" to our ears!!! Great video.
where were these machines back 20 years ago when I was operating them? LOL Having one of them back then you would of thought wow and wow again oh well LOL.
Been waiting for this for a long time following your sneak peek instagram posts. I was excited to see this 420 in action as it is filling the gap left in the market by the expiration of the Redrock 500 loader years ago. Would still like to see it on the silage pit as she does only have the same engine as the 320 which i belives serves to be a drawback and a slight disappointment for those who would otherwise have been interested in the 420 - i do think there are plenty of people who are turned off by the lack of increased power. But then again, the men who are genuinely interested will get a demo out for a day or two, so they'd soon see for themselves if there was enough power or not. Would love a week on one myself as the new 320s are a brilliant machine from the drivers point of view. This is the first review of the 420 ive seen so thumbs up! PS great to see u posting vids again
We wondered about the horsepower being the same but remember its all down to pumps and output and they have certainly increased those and it really didn't seem to lack power so whatever they have done, they've done right.
Nice bit of kit, it certainly looks the part, it's a bit different to the old Matbro's as much as I loved them they weren't a patch on these, I still say & agree with you, that they're a handier machine than a "Teleporter" unless it was the camera angle, the only criticism I would have is that I'd like the cutting edge on that grain bucket a bit further forward, just so it was visible when it's crowded back, but that's the bucket not the machine, great review & video Kurt 👍
That machine treads nice and light, definitely a winner with that. Makes me wish I wasn't retired............only joking. I am very impressed with it though.
Thats a nice looking machine and got the performance to by the looks of it. The guys that designed the loader should work on that Fastrac that thing looks awful ! It would be interesting to see the guys that used to spread our muck run that, if anybody was going to figure out ripping that head stock off they'd do it L.O.L. They had one of the older models of those machines probably 5 years ago. That was the last year they came here before I got my own kit. They ran Cat and Manitou handlers before the JCB and destroyed them, the machine abuse was so bad JCB was the only one left that would supply them loaders here in Canada. They are the foot to the floor seat covers you describe to the T . Thanks for the video it's good to see you again, Take care
Great review Kurt. Nice to see that although aesthetically theve kept it the same as the 320 it if a blank sheet machine. Really impressive bit of kit would be interested to see what it would do on a silage clamp
Game changing machine if ya ask me Kurt...… lads need to get this on demo for grass..... would give cudos to a lot of tight/low sheds and the multi purpose use afterwards compared to a 416s..418 or 419 shovel......looks a beefy little b###ard too!!!! What HP?
Just going through ya back catalogue, I do enjoy machinery at work or busted ha,Anyways if got colossal tooth ache, but you dont wana hear bout that. Stay safe m8 an keep on keepin on👍
Hi mate great vid! There a nice machine we really like our JCB Telehandlers and I’m getting a Fastrac on demo at end of month so looking forward to that! I always wonder why they put the oil filter on upside down 🤔 makes a right mess lol
Really good video 👍 always preferred a pivot steer after drivin an old well new back then matbro , never really took to ur vision bein restricted by that big boom at the side o the cab on a rigid machine 🤔
Great vid, TM420 is one of JCB I haven’t driven it, driven front loader, loadall telehandler maybe this is better trade off lift big load but not needing big height. I find loadall ride not comfortable, boom block side view, with new agri pro n TM420 which would you choose? I do like new agri pro👍
What's the UK's obsession with the regular Telehandlers tho? What is the benefit with one of those over something like this? You have way more capacity with something like this with no real downsides? Marginally lower liftheight, and i don't know, the price difference?
I'm just curious. Do you think in this day and age it would be better if reversing beepers were speed related so the quicker you're reversing the quicker the sound comes out?
Good afternoon. May i ask why someone choose the tm420 instead for example the 542-70? I mean its smaller and both of them have the same load capacity. And the tm i believe its more expensive. I am asking because i am ready to purchase this year the 531-70. Thank you
Great review Kurt thanks. Having driven the tm310 for many years when contracting mainly on clamp work, couldnt fault them untill the choppers and trailers got to big. Would love to see how this would cope, would it have the power to move the weight and work the hydraulics. Great looking bit of kit tho. Cheers Geoff
We were trying out the Michelin tyres which are designed to run at low pressures and they were very good but for day to day work I would have ran them at a slightly higher pressure.
No not really. Leave it to drain for 5 minutes before removing ( actually better than the other way up) and then stick a plastic bag underneath, unscrew filter, straight into bag, job done.
why with farms being smallll and machinery out growing the farms are we not using skidsteeers and yet in America the farms are a lot bigger they use skidsteeers
Because Skidsteers are limited in their use. Americans tend to use a Skidsteer in the yard and a large tractor loader out in the field where as in the UK and Europe the telehandler is a much more versatile piece of kit.
Good review of the machine, showing the features that folk want to know about. Seat covers look away, this is an operators machine
Maybe it’s the tyres, the operator or the machine as a whole but whatever it is it’s great to see a machine loading muck without wheels spinning, back end lifting and revving like mad. Great review and glad to see you back posting videos 🚜👍🏻😃
Good V.T. it's a shame MATBRO from Tetbuty went to pot due to bad accountants few years ago now but I did like the TR250.
We have 3 different Loadalls, where I work, but years ago I used a Matbro loader and thought they were about the best. Certainly the artic design and arm in front is to me what makes sense. Nice to have you back Kurt. Great review on the JCB. Take care mate...
Beautiful machine. Nice to see a video from you again

Realistically don't need to look anywhere else for a loader/handler JCB got it covered. Great vid mucka
Another great and honest review, I do look forward to your videos. Stephen
I noticed that with CC turned on, RUclips translates the engine sounds to "[music]". So I guess the sound of the JCB Tm420 is "music" to our ears!!! Great video.
Nice review on her, she looks a nice rig. Definitely nice to get a bit of gear that feel she's bossing the job rather than having to take it stead.
Great to see a video from you Kurt! It’s a fair old beast that - I reckon onelonleyfarmer could use on of those!
where were these machines back 20 years ago when I was operating them? LOL Having one of them back then you would of thought wow and wow again oh well LOL.
As per usual a quality well produced reviewe. Give me a pivot steer handler anyday, this is a quality bit of kit.

Looks a good machine Mucka , top job hell of a review . Looks to have a nice bounce in the cab 🚕👍🏻
That machine treads nice and light, definitely a winner with that. Makes me wish I wasn't retired............only joking. I am very impressed with it though.
Great production.

Very nice kit that TM 420, very nice indeed.
I will stick to the ridged ones but each to there own. We prefer the manitou better joystick in cab
We used to have a TM 200. It was a great tool.
Nice video.
The TM420 should be shipping with the Bill Bennett mark 2 hitch.
Also try that joystick shuttle switch to help your cycle times! 😉
I've always preferred the column shuttle on the JCB's but the joystick one on the Manitou's !
Nice machine! It's like a tele pay loader.
That is a great looking machine
A couple years ago I demoed a Wacker Neuson 750T. Neat, but not big enough for all our needs. This might just do it .
Great review Kurt. Nice to see that although aesthetically theve kept it the same as the 320 it if a blank sheet machine. Really impressive bit of kit would be interested to see what it would do on a silage clamp
Welcome back pal. Good to see ya. Tidy machine.
Wow! What a machine Kurt!
Game changing machine if ya ask me Kurt...… lads need to get this on demo for grass..... would give cudos to a lot of tight/low sheds and the multi purpose use afterwards compared to a 416s..418 or 419 shovel......looks a beefy little b###ard too!!!!
What HP?
Good video, good machine, looks great in the flesh saw you testing/ using it the other week
The same good to see you back and I agree with what your saying. Nice one Mucker?
THE BEP BEP SOUNDS LIKE MY OLD MGB-GT
Just going through ya back catalogue, I do enjoy machinery at work or busted ha,Anyways if got colossal tooth ache, but you dont wana hear bout that. Stay safe m8 an keep on keepin on👍
Another great video Lord Muck

Excellent video
great review keep them coming Kurt
Everything in the right place.
LOL seat cover here in the states we say steering wheel holder. Like the JCB Review Mucker!
Beast of a machine that
I would love to see that machine on a pit
Hey up Mucker where are you mate? I'm anticipating some new stuff 👍
Busy, but I'm working on some vids.
I'd love to demo that machine for a week at my sawmill, see how it does with our WA270
Great vid mate
Great video 👍🏻
Great video 👌👍
Great review.
What are you thoughts on the machine in 2020?
Love them - probably my favourite JCB product currently.
Matbro tr 250 great machines. Jcb great replacement and British 🙂
I saw the first one today in Hepworth
My cosine is a operator well played mucker
Hows the muck doing as of late I ain't had much time to stay caught up with your busy channel. Hope all is good on your end.
I'm okay Stevey thanks. Got a lot on so should do some more filming soon. I hope you're okay bud and staying out of trouble !
What's the UK's obsession with the regular Telehandlers tho? What is the benefit with one of those over something like this? You have way more capacity with something like this with no real downsides? Marginally lower liftheight, and i don't know, the price difference?
Nice video mate I was with the TM320s the other day Great piece of kit
lovely, LM, 👍👍
I'm just curious. Do you think in this day and age it would be better if reversing beepers were speed related so the quicker you're reversing the quicker the sound comes out?
Not really, if people don't hear the current ones, a faster one won't help them.
ild love to have one for a week on one of are steddy sites see what its like to a shovel
I all way enjoywatching your video looks like a good bit of kit just wondering how's the jcb rebuild going And the John deer?
Nice machine, what ballpark price
What size tyres is the machine on? please
Looks a fair lump of a thing, do you find them more stable with a load at height than a rigid? Good to see you back. All the best
Kurt do you have any contacts at JCB that could give Wes Pandy the new skid steer to demo?
It's all in hand as we speak.
Mr E30 I honestly think this will be more suitable for my needs rather then the skid steer.
I think it would be very useful to you Wes.
Lord Muck I agree this would be maneuverable and it seems to have good power and the reach that I can use all day long.
Well I look forward to either or and seeing your thoughts and opinions on a British made machine.
Good afternoon. May i ask why someone choose the tm420 instead for example the 542-70? I mean its smaller and both of them have the same load capacity. And the tm i believe its more expensive. I am asking because i am ready to purchase this year the 531-70. Thank you
If you do a lot of rehandling and loading, the articulated TM420 is a more versatile machine.
Lord Muck okk perfect. Thanks a lot for the answer.
Great vid did you try it with the big square bales.
Yes, handled 3 no problem.
Nit trying to be negative but jcb doesn’t seem to care about after sales my opinion
It has the power and capacity to push and lift much bigger loads of muck and grain so I can't see grass being an issue.
Hi kurt were the tyres a bit soft
We were trying out the Michelin tyres which are designed to run at low pressures and they were very good but for day to day work I would have ran them at a slightly higher pressure.
I think you should work as a sales assistant at jcb as you no so much
That's a job I wouldn't want.
What's happened to Lord Muck?
I've been busy, still around though...
What a mess that oil filter on top of the motor makes
No not really. Leave it to drain for 5 minutes before removing ( actually better than the other way up) and then stick a plastic bag underneath, unscrew filter, straight into bag, job done.
@@LordMuck I'd say the wait is my problem I dont give it time to drain all the way down
In your opinion What would they be like with a box tippler on our rotates the box forward
Can't see it being an issue and the visibility is great.
If I get my hands on one, I am going to dig my house basement with it.
Why people buy this rather than the originál telescopick
Good for loading
The ppl who ask where do u look as for the front attachment don't run shit like this (not a clue)
why with farms being smallll and machinery out growing the farms are we not using skidsteeers and yet in America the farms are a lot bigger they use skidsteeers
Because Skidsteers are limited in their use. Americans tend to use a Skidsteer in the yard and a large tractor loader out in the field where as in the UK and Europe the telehandler is a much more versatile piece of kit.
