John 15: 1-6 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.

I know I already commented on this video Ryan, but let me share with you something that I learned from John 15. I remember getting nervous when Jesus said to His disciples, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay His life down for His friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you." Not that I wanted to go out and live like the Devil (I DIDN'T and STILL DO NOT- raise my right hand to Heaven), but I know I've been inconsistent throughout my Christian walk. Then I read a previous verse in John 15 which said, "This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you." And love worketh no ill to its neighbor. As believers we love and support one another, and we share our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We love Him because He first loved us! So Christ's commandments for this dispensation is to believe on Him as Savior and love one another (1 John 3:23). When we trusted in Him for salvation, our body of sin was destroyed, obliterated, crucified with Him, buried, and rose again into newness of spiritual life. Not that we have a license to go out and sin like the Devil, but we are in a new relationship with Christ. We are free to walk and relish in His love and not be so pensively consumed with performance and sin-consciousness. When we fully grasp His love for us, we will not want to be the way we were before we came to Him.Amen???

Yes, so true. Its the spirit that loves unconditionally, believes all things, loves our brother. We just keep up through faith. We are perfection in our spirit, not in our flesh which always wars with the spirit. The more we know we are forgiven the more the spirit manifests through us. Those who have been forgiven of much loves much.

In Romans 11:22-23 says that God can place you back in the vine so long you come back before you die in unbelief.
I was terrified thinking I was doomed and the Internet didn’t help. God used a means to point me at Romans 11:22-23

@@RavishedGod Agreed! :) *Once Saved, Always Saved!* We (our Holy Spirit Heart) cannot fall, and we're 100% faultless: *Jude **1:24* -- _"Now unto _*_Him that is able to KEEP YOU FROM FALLING,_*_ and to _*_present you FAULTLESS_*_ before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,"_
It is *JESUS* Who keeps us from falling and always presents us faultless, for we are now *born* of His own Holy Spirit! We're now saved in eternity - outside of time. We're Spiritually One with God Almighty. To say we can fall would do a huge disservice to Who God is and His Power.
We're born of Gods Seed, which cannot be corrupted (thus cannot fall)!
*1 Peter **1:23* -- _"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which Liveth and abideth for ever."_
If we (our new Heart) are Born of an Incorruptible Seed of God, how can it be corrupted? It cannot be corrupted, thus cannot be lost. It's impossible to be lost after being Born of Gods Seed. The flesh is not the New Heart. That's where many people mix things up and make a huge mistake on this issue.
Paul wrote that we (who're born again) are *sealed* until the day of redemption:
*Ephesians **4:30* -- _"And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are _*_sealed_*_ unto the day of redemption."_
Notice how Paul *did not* write "...sealed until you turn away," or "...sealed until you screw up," or "...sealed until you sin too much," ? Free will to choose sin in the *FLESH* can grieve God but, this *does not change* the eternal salvation we have in our incorruptible *HEART!*
*Ephesians 1:4-14* -- _"According as He hath chosen us in Him BEFORE the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love: Having PREDESTINATED us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His Will, To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the beloved. In Whom we have redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace; Wherein He hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; Having made known unto us the mystery of His Will, according to His good pleasure which He hath purposed in Himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times He might gather together in One all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in Him: In Whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being PREDESTINATED according to the purpose of Him Who worketh all things after the counsel of His own Will: That we should be to the praise of His glory, who first trusted in Christ. In Whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in Whom also after that ye believed, ye were SEALED with that HOLY Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory."_
Paul acknowledges the *DISPENSATION* and that we're already *PREDESTINED* (all who are born again of the Holy Spirit of God now *were known by God to be His possessions* in eternity, before He even created the world! See also: Romans 8:28-31). Notice how Paul writes to the Ephesians that they were *SEALED* with the Holy Spirit more than once, yet Paul did not write that to the Hebrews? Clearly, two different groups here: one born again, the other not. And those who are not born again can truly fall, as they're not sealed by Gods Holy Spirit! They're not predestined to inherit the Kingdom of God!
*Colossians 3:3* -- _"For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God."_
Paul is saying our old flesh is dead (no threat to us anymore, it died on the cross with Jesus) and now our Life is hidden with Christ in God! Nothing can touch us (our new Heart) now! :)
*Philippians 1:6* - _"Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you Will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:"_
Paul was *confident* that God, Who is in us, *WILL* be there until Jesus comes back for us! Remember Ephesians 4:30? *SEALED* unto the day of redemption (day of Jesus Christ)!
*John **10:27**-30* -- _"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me: And _*_I give unto them ETERNAL Life; and they shall NEVER perish,_*_ neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand. My Father, which gave them Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand."_
Clearly, Jesus spoke of His "sheep" as those who are Born again of the Holy Spirit of God. Again, He spoke in the present tense for us having *ETERNAL* Life! And we will *NEVER* perish. I hope you can let this truth sink into your mind and give you comfort. Once you're born again of the Holy Spirit of God, you *cannot be lost!* That's a *GOOD* thing! :)
*John **5:24* -- _"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My Word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath _*_EVERLASTING Life,_*_ and _*_shall not_*_ come into condemnation; but _*_is_*_ passed from death _*_unto Life."_*
Jesus says we *have* (present tense) *everlasting* Life and shall not be condemned, ever, but passed from death to Life. That means it's impossible to lose Life / Salvation. :)
*John **6:39**-40* -- _"And this is the Will of Him Who sent Me, that I shall lose NONE of those He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For it is My Father’s Will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him _*_shall_*_ have eternal Life, and I Will raise him up at the last day.”_
Jesus is speaking about all those who are *born again* of the Holy Spirit of God - it's *they* who are the ones *given to Him* and *they* shall *NEVER* be lost! They shall *NEVER PERISH!* I'll take the words of Jesus! :)
*1 John 5:4* -- _"For everyone who has been _*_born_*_ of God _*_overcomes the world._*_ And this is the victory that has overcome the world - our faith."_
John writes that all who are born of God *overcome* the world. Notice he does not write "most" who are born of God overcome the world? It's *ALL* who are born of God, of His Holy Spirit, they overcome the world because we're born of the incorruptible Holy Spirit Seed of God that Lives forever and is 100% sinless / perfect / blameless, no matter what the flesh stumbles into here or there; the flesh shall pass away, but the Holy Heart shall Live forever, no matter what. Once Saved (in our Heart), Always Saved (in our Heart). The flesh is not the new Heart. People need to stop mixing the two up.
*1 John **5:11* -- _"And this is the testimony, that God _*_gave us ETERNAL Life,_*_ and this Life is in His Son."_
*1 John **5:13* -- _"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal Life."_
*1 John 3:9* -- _"Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His Seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."_
So John is writing about that incorruptible Seed of God, as Peter also wrote about in 1 Peter 1:23. Now the wording seems a bit weird because we are used to saying that "we sin" all the time, right? But John is not talking about the flesh sinning. John means the Holy Spirit *HEART* within us, our *HEART* cannot sin, thus our heart can never be lost! Our flesh is already corrupted (has sin in it) and will fall away one day, but our flesh is not who we now are (in our Heart). Our flesh is not our identity anymore! We (our Hearts) are now born of Gods Holy Spirit and identify as Children of God, without sin forever! :) Once His Child, always His Child! :)
John backs up the fact that we currently have *ETERNAL Life!* Eternal is forever. Eternal --> forever --> outside of time. That means there's no time to ever be lost! The moment we're born of the Holy Spirit of God in eternity, we're 100% safe forever. *Once Saved, Eternally Saved, indeed!*
All of the verses people try to use to supposedly disprove OSAS are *always* taken out of context.
Then they try to say we're supposedly looking for some "green light" to sin. This is so far from the truth! We're born of the Holy Spirit of God, our Hearts desire is to *NOT* sin. The flesh might stumble here or there but it's not like we seek to *practice* sin. It's literally impossible for a Child of God to practice sin, for our Heart within is Perfect now. There's a difference between [the flesh] stumbling here or there, as compared to the heart *practicing* sin. This is a concept they do not understand when they claim we're supposedly looking for some "green light" to sin. Their beliefs can lead them down the dangerous road of legalism, thinking that it's a part of their will and works that also "keep them saved," which is not good at all. The pharisees were self-righteous legalists, thinking it was by their works that God supposedly looked upon them favorably.
We're *SAVED* by grace and therefore *KEPT* by grace! It's not "saved by grace but kept by the power of our will."
*"NOT by power, NOR by might, but by My Spirit,"* saith the LORD! Amen! :)
_Learning about dispensationalism and how to rightly divide is important to understand that many verses in the bible (NT included) do not even pertain to _*_BORN AGAIN_*_ Christians. Sadly, the anti-OSAS group enjoys taking many of them out of context..._

@@frankcrawford416 We can lose salvation if we sin knowingly even after receiving Christ at some time in our lives. In fact, the judgement is worse for those that sin having known the truth, tasted salvation and then rejected it when trampling over the son of God and spitting in his face after what he did for us when we initially received him and then turned him away.

Cough cough 😷 get the context here !!
      Romans 11:22
      Behold therefore the goodness, and severity of God,.... The consideration of both the grace and kindness of God to some, and his severity or strict justice towards others, is recommended by the apostle as very proper to abate pride, vain glory, and haughtiness of spirit; and to engage to humility, fear, care, and caution;
on them which fell, severity: the Jews who stumbled at Christ and his Gospel, and fell by unbelief, God in strict justice and righteous judgment not only destroyed, as afterwards their nation, city, and temple, and scattered them abroad in the world to be a reproach, a proverb, a taunt, and a curse in all places; but cast them off as his people, broke his covenant with them, took away his Gospel from them, left them out of a Gospel church state, except a few, and gave up the generality of them to blindness and hardness of heart; so that wrath is come upon them to the uttermost, both with respect to things civil and religious, and they continue as living standing monuments of God's severity and justice, to be beheld by us Gentiles with pity and concern, and to excite in us the fear of God, and caution as to our conduct and behaviour in the world, and in the church:
but towards thee, goodness; the Gentiles, who not only share in the goodness and grace of God, displayed in the election of many of them to eternal life, in their redemption by Christ, and the effectual calling of them by the grace of God; but in their church state, they being made fellow citizens with the saints, fellow heirs, and of the same body, and having a place and a name in God's house, better than that of sons and daughters; and therefore under great obligation to fear the Lord, and his goodness, and to walk worthy of the calling wherein they are called, in all humility and lowliness of mind:
if thou continue in his goodness; meaning not the love, grace, and free favour of God, or the grace of the Spirit, a continuance in which no "if" is to be put upon; for such who are interested in the love of God always continue in it, and nothing can separate them from it; and such as have the graces of the Spirit implanted in them, as faith, hope, and love, can never lose them; these always remain in them, and they in the possession of them, though not always in the exercise of them; but the goodness of God in a church state is here meant, as the means of grace and comfort, the ministration of the word and ordinances; and the sense is, if thou dost not despise the riches of divine goodness in a church relation, if thou dost not abuse it, or walk unworthy of it, if thou abidest by it, and retainest a value for it, thou wilt still share the advantages of it:
otherwise thou also shall be cut off; from the good olive tree, the Gospel church state, into which the Gentiles were taken; and which, with respect to particular persons, may intend the act of excommunication by the church, expressed in Scripture by purging the old leaven, putting away the wicked person, withdrawing from such that are disorderly, and rejecting heretics, that is, from the communion of the church; and with respect to whole bodies and societies, an entire unchurching of them by removing the Gospel, and the ordinances of it; which threatening has been awfully fulfilled in many Gentile churches, in Asia, Africa, and Europe; and therefore may serve to awaken our fear, care, and caution, lest we should be treated in like manner.
      Romans 11:23
And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief,.... The apostle suggests that the Jews also might be recovered and brought into a Gospel church state, provided they did not continue in infidelity; but inasmuch as they seem to lie under invincible ignorance, obstinacy, and unbelief, and were such bitter enemies to the Gospel, and abhorrers of Gospel ordinances, and a Gospel church state; yea, that they must and will abide in unbelief, unless the Spirit of God convinces them of it, and it is given to them to believe in Christ, and they are powerfully drawn by the Father to come to the Son, there is no possibility or likelihood that they
shall be grafted in, or taken into a Gospel church state; to which the apostle answers, and argues for their ingrafting, and the possibility of it from the power of God:
for God is able to graft them in again; as many of them were in the times of the apostles, and some since, for nothing is impossible with God; he can remove their unbelief, knock off the shackles and fetters in which they are held, and bring, them out of the prison of infidelity, in which they are shut up; he is able to take away the blindness of their minds, and the hardness of their hearts, the veil that is over them, and turn them to the Lord; he can by his mighty power work faith in them, and cause them to look on him whom they have pierced, and mourn in an evangelical manner; he can bring them to Christ, and into his churches, and among his people, and fold them with the rest of his sheep; so that there one fold of Jew and Gentile, under one shepherd, Jesus Christ.

Incorrect. This passage is towards Jews during this time period. If they repented and trusted the words of Jesus, they would bear fruit and wouldn’t be cut off. If they trusted in the Old Testament Law and their own works, they would be cut off. As Christians today, all we need to do is acknowledge that we are sinners and merely have faith that 1. The death of Jesus took our punishment on the cross 2. His blood washed away our sins and 3. That we are sealed by the Holy Spirit. No works are involved. It’s all faith in His amazing gift of grace.

The difference is, they Repent and overcome there sin,by having faith in God to deliver them from the sin, addiction, etc. But they don't blatantly go practice sin, wilfully sin, work at sin, then justify it. Nope. You think that I think I..and say.... "we need to keep Gods Law to be saved." We maintain and TESTIFY that :
      a) " a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law, because no flesh will be justified by the works of the law." Galatians 2:16
      b) "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" Ephesians 2:8
But I know the point you are driving at, being not ignorant of the devices of these Hypergrace vipers.
But would you be kind enough to amplify ...
      a) the Law of Christ : "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the Law of Christ." Galatians 6:2
      explain.....
      b) "Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the Law. [ the Hypergrace Jesuit dispensationalist in the video says we dump it."?
"Do you think that's even possible?" Have you not read ??

Nobody was ever in right relationship with God because of the law. If they were, Jesus wouldn't have had to die. Not that He had to but in order for us to be with Him He had to. Paul and James both said Abraham was justified by faith.tge just live by faith. The people that were cut off were the unbelieving Jews. God used their blindness and unbelief in order that they'd opt for Jesus to be killed. They were cut off because of unbelief. They never believed. Some did and some didn't. the Bible never says people can be saved and then go to hell. There were many tare among the wheat just as there is in this age. Goats among sheep. But a sheep can never turn into a goat.

If they trusted in the Old Testament Law and their own works, they would be cut off. As Christians today, all we need to do is acknowledge that we are sinners and merely have faith that 1. Yes, our Lord Jesus is saying without Him (Jesus) we can "DO" nothing! I'm stunned and full of wonder as I see the Spirit of Christ "doing" wonderful things in or through other Brethren In Christ. Sometimes I even get floored, when I watch as the Spirit of our risen Lord is encouraging other people using my finger pounding out the words given me on the computer.I am so blessed to be taken along for the ride (so to speak) as the Lord Jesus does the so-called "work"in or through me too! For us, it's really not a work, it's such a joy, a real fulfilling JOY! God Bless, Just a thought! Thank you!

Jesus says every vine in me that doesn't bear fruit, he cuts off. How can a vine be in him but not be a believer? If a branch is "cut off" that means it was definitely part of the vine to begin with. I think he is speaking about believers here. He tells those he is speaking to they are already clean because of the word he has spoken to them, so then why would he have to further instruct them to abide in him? Although we are already saved and have Christ, we can still choose to abide in him and not to abide. Since we have two natures now, we can choose to obey the flesh or obey the spirit. He never actually says the result of not abiding is being cut off from eternal life. This could mean something else, like being cut off from his blessings, chastisement, or even having your physical life cut short.

      @jaymorris9952 6 лет назад +8

Neuro Mancer There are many verses that indicate a believer cannot do anything to lose their salvation, therefore Jesus can't be talking about believers and their eternal salvation here. Jesus compares being born again of the spirit to being born of the flesh. A person can never be unborn of the flesh, so why is the spirit any different? We are also called children of God. Even if I deny my earthly father, does that make him no longer my father? No. Salvation is permanent

  • @harvestworkers626

To abide is to remain. When a person is born again, the Holy Spirit remains (in) the believers spirit. Jesus told His disciples He was going away but that He would not leave them comfortless, but that He would give them Another Comforter. This is the Holy Spirit and HE will NEVER leave us nor forsake us. Why? Because He is our seal until the day of redemption, Eph. 4:30.
The context of the beginning of chapter 15 is no doubt that of bearing fruit. Le us know that the Holy Spirit will always abide (remain) in the believer, but it doesn't mean that the believer will always abide (remain) in the Holy Spirit. Sometimes believers may walk in the flesh or get caught up in the things of the world or be deceived by the enemy and if this occurs it means that the believer has taken off the new man and has put on the old man and is now walking after the flesh instead of walking after the Spirit. We should realize then that the believer is no longer abiding in the Vine and is unable to bear fruit and in danger of being thrown in the fire at the JSOC.
It should be clear that these verses being mentioned in John 15 are not justification verses dealing with heaven or hell, but rather they are sanctification verses that deal with ones eternal rewards or los of them. It's vital to see that our salvation is forever secure IN CHRIST. And it's equally vital to see that not every believer will bear fruit that remains and receive reward at the JSOC. Many believers will bear no fruit at all as typified by the 3 types of soil; hard, rocky and thorny. While few will bear some 30, some 60 and some 100 fold.
NOTE: The branches which are thrown into the fire and burned are those believers whose works were burned up at the JSOC.
    See 1 Cor. 3:10-15.

Yes I understand that scripture the same way. We can’t loose our salvation but our rewards in heaven. And we can’t bear fruits without Jesus Christ which means that we have to abide in his unconditional love for us so that we are able to walk in the spirit and love other people and sinners like Jesus loves us. We have life in the spirit and we also shall walk in the spirit. Galatians 5:25

Part of what Ryan said was true but he had a really dangerous lie mixed in. If it was true that you couldn't forfeit your salvation through disobedience and not abiding in Jesus, then there wouldn't be so many warning in the New Testament about calling Jesus Lord without doing what He says, trampling the Son of God underfoot by deliberately sinning, not abiding in Jesus's love because of disobedience, being cast out for not abiding in the Vine (Jesus), cut off for not continuing in His goodness, vomited out for being lukewarm, blotted out from the Book of Life, not enduring to the end, or being hearers of the word but not doers. That's only a few of the warnings that disprove "Once Saved Always Saved". I just wanted to share that so no one else gets deceived like I did by "preachers" who are teaching that.

This explanation didn't help at all because it causes the person to look at themselves to determine whether or not they're saved. So, this wasn't a very satisfactory answer.

If you are producing fruit and you are also in the world, He prunes you (trials, afflictions, tribulations) that is all pruning so you leave everything and depend solely on Him and set your affections on Him. Then you start producing more fruit because it is now all about Him as He has pruned you! Hope that makes sense.

You stated that John 15 is talking about the “evidence” of our salvation(i.e; good fruit) and that the branches which did not produce good fruit were basically “never truly saved” to behind with. This is called The No True Scotsman Fallacy:
    (1) Angus puts sugar on his porridge.
    (2) No (true) Scotsman puts sugar on his porridge.
    Therefore:
    (3) Angus is not a (true) Scotsman.
    Therefore:
    (4) Angus is not a counter-example to the claim that no Scotsman puts sugar on his porridge.
    (OR)
    1. A branch fails to produce fruit
    2. A branch of Christ always produces fruit
    3. A fruitless branch is not a branch of Christ
    4. A fruitless branch is not a counter-example to the claim that no true branch of Christ can fail to produce good fruit.
This is a circular argument because there is no way anyone can disprove your premise.
Having said that, if it is a forgone conclusion that a branch of Christ will always produce good fruit, then why does he say in verse 4, “neither can you bear fruit UNLESS you remains in me”? It’s not necessary to admonish his followers to “remain in me” so as to bear fruit if it’s already forgone conclusion that they WILL. Unless of course we all have free will, in which case such a conditional makes total sense-meaning we’re not OSAS! 🤙

    • @lizzothechub
      @lizzothechub 4 года назад +1

Meaning we are not osas, really? How about john 11:26 where JESUS says he that liveth and believeth in me shall NEVER DIE, so we dont bear fruit to be saved or stay saved, infact we cant even stay saved by ourselves anyway beacuse we couldnt get ourselves saved to begin with, so your argument is pretty stupid, everytime JESUS says and I give unto them eternal life he meant it, if we could lose eternal life it wouldn't be eternal

In Mark 4 regarding the 4 types of soil, Jesus explains that only 1 out of the 4 that had at one time trusted in Christ was actually saved. The other 3 types did Not Remain. Those 3 thought they had eternal life, because they used to obey Christ, but then the things of this world pulled them away. Obedience in Christ to the very is the evidence of a true believer.

    • @frankcrawford416
      @frankcrawford416 2 года назад

The 2nd and 3rd soils are saved Jesus clearly said the first soil did not believe. The 2nd and 3rd soils hear and received the word with great joy and understand it. The first soil understand it not and the wicked one take away the that which was sown in his heart. The 2nd soil received the word but persecutions arise and he is offended. The 3rd soil got the word choked out and it became unfruitful. The first soil is described as unsaved earlier in the chapter. "For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted," So the first soil is the only ùnsaved one, the 2nd 3rd and 4th are saved because they understood the word. You can bet the 4th soil also received the word with great joy but they also produced much fruit. Of course Jesus wants us to produce fruit, but He is not saying if we dont we are not his. Of course we can die if we dont. Of course he will discipline us for our own good to bear more fruit. That is if we bear it, or like the fig tree we can get uprooted. God tries for 3 seasons to see if we will produce fruit as in parable of fig tree. Of course any work not found to be done in the Holy Spirit will get burned up. 1cor 3:15 "If any man's work shall be burned he shall suffer loss: He himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire." 14 "If any man's work abide which he hath built upon, he shall receive a reward" How do we stay on the vine we do what Paul did. We keep the faith, because Jesus says apart from me you can do nothing. Descipling is keeping the faith. Paul was a disciple and he said I have kept the faith. The word got choked out. That is they lost faith they are saved. Apart from me you can do nothing. We access grace by faith. Who can perform good works apart from faith. But we also know from 2 tim 2 13 If we are faithless He is faithful for He cannot deny himself. Do you think a faithless Christian can produce fruit, not really, because they are not remaining in the vine. Christians go through seasons of fruit bearing as well, when they are not producing fruit. But the Bible says no good tree can produce bad fruit Ever! No rotten figs can come from a good tree. You shall know them by their fruit, a bad tree or good tree. Well what this necessarily means when they aren't producing fruit you won't know them. Yes, you won't know they are Christian if they aren't producing fruit. But remember they can't produce bad fruit, just little or no fruit. Some never produce fruit. They asked Jesus How do we work the works of God? He said the works of God are to believe on the one he has sent.

Bottom line Jesus speaking to those under the law, to the jews (there was no Christians in the gospels) saying I am your long awaited Messiah believe on me and if you don't believe on me even though you are Israel, if you reject me then you are rejecting God's vine.
Not all Israel is Israel and only a ruminant will be saved.
If some rejected Moses as their special messenger how much more Gods Son.

“You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭15:3-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Here Jesus is saying to His 11 faithful apostles “remain in Me” “YOU cannot be fruitful UNLESS YOU remain in Me”. Now look at the implications here. These are very powerful words. Jesus is directing this message to His 11 faithful apostles whom we know without a doubt that Jesus knew they believed according to John 6:64. Jesus is implying that there is a possibility that they can fail to abide or remain in Him. According to the doctrine of eternal security this means Jesus is warning His apostles of doing something that is impossible for them to do. Why would Jesus warn them to abide in Him if they are incapable of falling away? Jesus knew they still have free will and they needed this message to stay the course. Notice in the first verse of the very next chapter while they are still walking to Gethsemane Jesus says to them ““These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be caused to stumble.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭16:1‬”. Let’s continue.
““Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭15:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Two key things to focus on here. Those who remain in Jesus WILL PRODUCE MUCH FRUIT. Not might produce or may or can produce some fruit. Will produce much fruit. It is inevitable absolutely will happen of course if given the opportunity. The thief on the cross is an example of someone who didn’t have much of an opportunity to produce fruit or do good works. He did defend Jesus against the other criminals who were mocking Jesus. So he did produce some fruit but he was pretty limited considering he was nailed to a cross. But for those who have the capability to produce fruit and do not they will face the consequences of verses 2 and 6. Now the second point of focus is “apart from Me YOU can do nothing”. According to eternal security the apostles can’t be apart from Him because of 1 John 2:19.
“They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬
So how does this make sense? Very easy 1 John 2:19 is speaking of antichrists as we can see in verse 18.
“Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬
So what’s the difference between those who don’t abide and antichrists? Well antichrists lie and deny that Jesus is the Messiah and the Son of God and God Himself. Antichrists try to deceive people about Jesus and The Father. That’s very different from what we’re seeing here in a John 15. John 15 is about becoming lukewarm. Only believers can become lukewarm because nonbelievers were never hot with passion for Christ to begin with. 1 John 2:19 only tells us that true believers will never be antichrists. It doesn’t say that true believers cannot fail to abide in Christ. Ok let’s proceed to verse 6 in John 15.
“Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭15:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Now many who teach the doctrine of eternal security will say this is a parallel verse to 1 Corinthians 3:15. That is not correct. In 1 Cor 3:15 Paul is taking about believers who are “building” on the foundation of Christ. They are doing works. 1 Cor 3:15 is not about believers who are not doing works. John 15:1-10 is about believers who are not doing works. Maybe they were then stopped or maybe they’re new to their faith and haven’t started. I don’t know. I don’t see any indication in the scriptures. The bottom line is they’re not doing works. In 1 Cor 3 Paul is explaining how both he and Apollos did the work God assigned them and both will be rewarded according to their deeds. Their works will be tested by fire to see if it has any value. Whether their works have any value or not the builder will still be saved either way. By having value means did it bring glory to God. I don’t want to get too far into discussing 1 Cor 3 because this is getting long and a bit off track. Anyone can clearly see it is only referring to believers who have done works. So let’s look at the Greek definition of the word bállō (G906) which is translated to cast or throw which means
    1) to throw or let go of a thing without caring where it falls a) to scatter, to throw, cast into b) to give over to one's care uncertain about the result c) of fluids
    1) to pour, pour into of rivers
    2) to pour out
    2) to put into, insert
    Grammar:
a primary verb; to throw (in various applications, more or less violent or intense):--arise, cast (out), X dung, lay, lie, pour, put (up), send, strike, throw (down), thrust. Compare ῥίπτω.
Basically it means to carelessly throw down or thrust in a violent or intense manner without regard.
Next let’s look at the word wither which is translated from the Greek word xēraínō (G3583)
    1) to make dry, dry up, wither
    2) to become dry, to be dry, be withered a) of plants b) of the ripening of crops c) of fluids d) of the members of the body
    3) to waste away, pine away, i.e. a withered hand
To dry up or waste away.
Lastly let’s look at the definition of the word burned translated from the Greek word kaíō (G2545) which means
    1) to set on fire, light, burning
    2) to burn, consume with fire
Pretty basic definition as you would expect.
So let’s review and put it all into perspective. So we have Jesus warning His 11 faithful apostles to abide in Him even explaining the consequences of failing to abide while the doctrine of eternal security suggests it is impossible for the faithful 11 not to abide, at least not unto the point of loss of salvation. But look at the consequences Jesus described in the proper translation. They are cut off or removed from the vine (Jesus). That in itself cannot result in salvation without repentance. They are cast or thrown away (carelessly violently intensely without regard) to wither (dry up and waste away) then thrown (again carelessly violently intensely without regard) into the fire to be burned (set on fire or consumed by fire). For anyone who questions the definitions I’ve provided for these words you can search it for yourself using the Strong’s concordance reference numbers I provided. Just google Strong’s concordance then type in the letter and number and you can see the definitions for yourself. I provided the number right after the Greek transliteration. For example search “Strong’s Concordance G142 and you’ll get the information for the Greek word aírō which means to take away, lift up, etc. If you question whether or not these are the correct Greek words in the scriptures just google John 15 Greek Interlinear and you can see the original Greek texts with translations and the Strong’s Concordance reference numbers. no, what will happen is this:
      1 cor 5:1-5
5 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.
2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,
4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
your flesh will die but soul will be saved. plus you won't have rewards in heaven. repenting does not save you nor is it necessary for salvation.

A genuine believer in Jesus Christ CANNOT lose His salvation. A fallen Christian will be chastised, corrected, even taken out of the world but his soul is saved. Everlasting life is exactly that. Salvation is based on Jesus, not on our lifestyle or works. Imagine the shame at judgment when before Christ and they must explain why they were fallen and failed in living for their Savior...they will be called the least in Heaven....remember Jesus said no man may take one of His out of His hand or His Father’s hand. John 10:25-30. No man includes you and includes me.

No. If you had faith at least once in your life that Jesus took your sins then you are always saved. Check out 2 Timothy 2:13
“If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself.”
We are forever sealed as Christians and can’t lose our salvation. With that said, we should confess our sins because we love God and want to try our best to live according to His will.

God bless brother. The phrase "Takes away" or "cuts off" is not a correct Greek translation. The Greek word airo means "lift up." So, theres a process for non fruit-bearing believers and theres another process for fruit-bearing believers. Jesus is teaching that the Father in verse 2 gives special support to the believers who are not bearing fruit. Then by verse 6 if that doesn't work something more severe will be established. We know that fire and burning is not always a description of hell (1 Peter 1:6-7), (1 Corinthians 3:15).
If anyone’s work is *burned,* he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as *through fire.* (1 Corinthians 3:15) NKJV
This is describing what is happening at the Bema seat of Christ, the judgment of rewards. So, look back at John’s passage carefully, it’s not talking about people going to hell. It is talking about God purging wood, hay and stubble from gold, silver and costly stones. He is not purging the believer in this case, He is purging the believer’s works and what remains after the fire finishes consuming is part of the believers reward above and beyond salvation. It can even also be referencing temporal discipline, the Father chastising His child to purify problems in that non fruit-bearing believers character. The idea that this is hell fire doesn't fit the context and mainstream evangelical Christianity falsely turn non fruit-bearing believers into unbelievers.
The context is Jesus in the Upper room having a conversation with His eleven disciples after the Passover meal and right before His betrayal and execution. Judas Iscariot left back in chapter 13 and now Jesus is preparing the disciples (who are all believers) on how to be spiritually mature for after His departure, to go forth and complete their mission in the world. Then you can say by way of analogy, all of us that have trusted in Jesus Christ are branches in this metaphor. Jesus begins to unveil the metaphor of the vine and the branches. We have in this chapter fruit-bearing (verses 1 - 8), loving (verses 9 - 17), suffering (verses 18 - 25) and finally witnessing (verses 26 - 27). He is preparing them for something that no Old Testament prophet foresaw and that’s the soon birth of the church. So, He is giving them brand new foundational truths for the Age of the church which is coming. They would go on to write books, found churches, win souls and die as martyrs to glory God. Lord Jesus knew they needed to stay vitally connected to Him.
When you study how John uses "in Me" its used approximately sixteen times in this book and without question, every single time it's used to refer to someone who is legitimately a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. Infact, Jesus used this same phrase "in Me" in the prior chapter:
Do you not believe that *I am in the Father, and the Father in Me?* The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and *the Father in Me,* or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves. (John 14:10-11) NKJV
The relationship of Jesus Christ to the Father and the relationship of the Father to Jesus Christ is described through that same prepositional phrase “in Me.” The Son is legitimately in the Father and the Father is legitimately in the Son. There’s no lack of security and so when Jesus uses the same prepositional phrase “in Me” in reference to the eleven disciples, He is talking about those that are secure in the Lord Jesus Christ because they are infact believers. Believing in Jesus Christ ushers you into a place of permanent security in God and gives you the gift of life (John 3:16), (John 5:24). It’s a one time action in the past with ongoing results, a present-tense gift and you have already transferred from death to life, and these are spiritual laws.
The word “abide” is the Greek word menó and it’s used in two different ways or has two different meanings depending on the context. When John first begins to use the word abide in John’s gospel it is talking about initial faith and receiving salvation. It is used that way in John chapter 6 verse 56. However, as you move through John’s gospel what you discover is, the word abide in the context we’re working with here in the Upper Room discourse where Jesus is already talking to people that already are believers, the word abide takes on a different meaning. Here it does not refer to initial faith in Jesus Christ. Instead, it refers to growth and intimacy with Jesus Christ. It is not talking about an unbeliever believing in Jesus Christ for the first time. It is talking about the believer growing and deepening their level of maturity and intimacy with our Lord Jesus Christ. In John 8 verse 31, the word menó is used in that latter second sense:
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, *“If you abide [menó] in My word,* you are My disciples indeed. (John 8:31) NKJV
They’re already believers. There, the word menó or abide is not talking about the transition from unbelief to belief rather its talking about the transition of the believer into discipleship and it is only some Christians that abide in Christ in this secondary sense. In other words, it’s possible for a believer to not abide in Christ in this secondary sense because fruit-bearing is not always automatic in the life of a believer. Look at another example:
And now, *little children, abide in Him,* that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. (1 John 2:28) NKJV
The theme is always to a believer. Abide “in Me” is talking about someone who is already secure in Jesus Christ because of their faith in Him. When we abide in Christ in that secondary sense the result is not life, we already have life. The result is fruit-bearing and if you don’t have those two senses of the word abide then you’ll get very confused. Here it is not being used in the first sense rather the second sense. Jesus in verse 4 is saying if you do not abide in Me in this secondary sense, then plainly, you will forfeit fruitfulness in your Christian life and ministry.

The vine which are gathered and burned are not referring to saved people, only to people who have come to the knowledge of truth(via the holy spirit, which comes to you over and over again before you actually get saved, answering all things in truth) and rejected it, people must come to the knowledge of truth via the holy spirit first and then call upon the name of the lord, and then God grants repentance. (3 step process). (those who have become enlightened to the truth by the holy spirit while they are yet are unsaved and reject god become reprobate eventually because they grieve the holy spirit, Hebrews 6vs4).
(Romans 10:vs9 "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.")
(Romans 10vs13.): "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved"
(2Timothy2vs25: "In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth").
Hebrews 6: "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened(comment: by the holy spirit), and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance (comment: from unbelief unto belief)."
The context of Hebrews 6 for repentance is not sin, but rather to turn from unbelief unto belief. This is what the holy spirit does before you are saved. It answers all things in truth, you either accept or reject, unto salvation or reprobate. Then God grants your request, and you are born again when you call upon the name of the lord after being enlightened to the truth by the holy spirit.

Bless you brother. Please you must take off your “reformed glasses” so to speak in order to correctly see the message Christ is giving here. Your contradicting what is right in front of you. You said that the branches that are cut off by The Father are not really in Christ. Jesus specifically said that these branches are in Him and if they weren’t then The Father wouldn’t need to cut them off to begin with. If they’re not really in Christ then they can’t be cut off from the vine by The Father. You also said that every branch in Christ does bear fruit. Again Jesus never says that. He just said every branch IN ME that doesn’t bear fruit is cut off. Jesus never says that every branch in Him bears fruit. He says every branch that ABIDES IN ME. Abide (to stay, remain, continue) This is a parallel message to Luke 13:6-9. God will allow us time to comply with Jesus’ teachings and follow His words but there will be a point where if we have not began our walk in the Spirit, we have not become a new creation, He will cast us away aka cut us off or chop us down. This is why John 15 is often used to refute OSAS because it is the strongest message against OSAS and cannot be interpreted to support OSAS without ignoring the context and contradicting the words Christ spoke. I urge you brother with all love and compassion to please re-evaluate your thoughts on this message and allow Christ’s words to teach what He spoke unfiltered thru reformed theology. Have a blessed day brother.
“And He began telling this parable: "A man had a fig tree which had been planted in his vineyard; and he came looking for fruit on it and did not find any. And he said to the vineyard-keeper, 'Behold, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree without finding any. Cut it down! Why does it even use up the ground?' And he answered and said to him, 'Let it alone, sir, for this year too, until I dig around it and put in fertilizer; and if it bears fruit next year, fine; but if not, cut it down.'"”

Yes as i was spending time with God yesterday these words came to me. The easiest way to bewitch someone is to explain to them ahead of time that what they're about to read isn't actually saying what it appears to mean. That's what pastors do before they go over verses like this. They tell you ahead of time you who are in Christ can never come out so when he goes on to preach on the verse the words will lose their power and they will go right over your head. That's how you bewitch someone. Or after you read it and are convicted by it they explain it away to assure you that you're eternally secure. That bewitches your mind. It works on almost everyone because no one wants to believe they can be cut off. It goes against their once saved always saved mindset that has been pre programmed into their heads.

John 15 explained in the proper context with the proper translations. So many people who believe in eternal security get way off course when they hit this stumbling block. This is because John 15:1-6 refutes the doctrine of eternal security. In order to understand this passage of scripture you have to really look at the context as well as the Greek definitions of the keys words used here. First I’ll start with the context. Who is Jesus speaking to? This message takes place right after the Last Supper. Judas has already left the upper room to go and betray Jesus and Jesus and His faithful 11 apostles are walking to Gethsemane late at night. So according to the scriptures only Jesus and His faithful 11 apostles are present during this message. So let’s examine Jesus’ message. I’m going to use the NLT version which I know many people will say is inaccurate but I will show you by the definition of the Greek words used that in this particular case the NLT is actually more accurate than the KJV,ASV,and ESV with one exception. In verse 9 the NLT adds the word “true” in front of the word “disciples”. I have removed the word “true” because it is not in the original Greek text and it is not my intention to add anything to the original text in order to support my position in this discussion. So let’s continue.
““I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! When you produce much fruit, you are my disciples. This brings great glory to my Father. “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭15:1-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    First let’s examine verses 1 & 2.
““I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭15:1-2‬ ‭NLT‬‬
The Father “cuts off” every branch “of mine” that doesn’t produce fruit. Before we look at cuts off notice Jesus says “of mine”. These branches are believers. They are already grafted into the vine. We will see more evidence of this later in my explanation. So let’s look at the full definition of the Greek word used for the term “cuts off” which is aírō (G142).
    Definition
    1) to raise up, elevate, lift up a) to raise from the ground, take up: stones b) to raise upwards, elevate, lift up: the hand c) to draw up: a fish
    2) to take upon one's self and carry what has been raised up, to bear
    3) to bear away what has been raised, carry off a) to move from its place b) to take off or away what is attached to anything c) to remove d) to carry off, carry away with one e) to appropriate what is taken f) to take away from another what is his or what is committed to him, to take by force g) to take and apply to any use h) to take from among the living, either by a natural death, or by violence i) cause to cease
Notice the bold letters in the definition. To take off or away what is attached to anything. The branch is attached to the vine. When the Greek word aírō is used in reference to something that is attached to something the correct definition is removed or detached. The term taken away is also used which still implies the same thing. If someone is taken away from the vine (Jesus) they become detached or removed from Him which cannot result in salvation. Let’s continue there’s plenty more evidence to confirm this

@@blake8820 This passage was specifically to Jesus’ 11 faithful apostles brother. This conversation takes place in the upper room right after the Last Supper after Judas left to go and betray Jesus. So the only people who are present during this conversation is Jesus and His 11 faithful apostles. We know for a fact that they were believers at this point because Jesus specifically states that they are not of this world which means they are of the Spirit and of the Kingdom of God. So there’s no question if they are saved at this point and yet Jesus makes several implications that they are capable of falling away resulting in their condemnation. “Abide in Me, Without Me you can do nothing, you cannot bear fruit unless you abide in Me, anyone who does not abide in Me, and if you abide in Me”. All of these are indications that they were capable of falling away.

@@blake8820 In Romans 11, after this time you mentioned, Paul told the Gentiles that they could be cut off if they were arrogant.
“You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear; for if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either. Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off. And they also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.”

Why do you not emphasize "in me"? He specifically states "in Me". Then you are taken away. Which is equivalent to being blotted out of the Lamb's Book of Life that you were in. Remember the parable of the sower as well. Many who casts out devils while "in Jesus" are taken away and He never knew them. It is because they were just after Jesus' Inheritance and there was no true love for Jesus or the Brethren. The engagement is called off. Another words they were grafted onto the Tree of the Living and became withered and were withered at the time of their death. Remember, Jesus tells us that Father has cut off most natural branches and CAN CUT YOU OFF of the Tree of Life so FEAR GOD. (Rom 11:20 "He may NOT spare you either" once you are grafted into the Tree of Life.) "but towards you goodness IF you continue in His goodness OTHERWISE you also WILL BE CUT OFF. (Rom 11:22)

And this is the *record,* that God hath given to us *ETERNAL LIFE,* and this life is in his Son.

@@Counterpoint_Apologetics Amen. You understand. I am so sick and tired of these liars. It makes it hard to share the truth with people because these deceivers already messed up their mind to where they cant see the plain truth you're trying to share with them.
Its the same as the servant who received a talent just like all the other servants. But that one hid it in the ground and when the master returns he casts that unprofitable servant into outer darkness. That servant was saved but then was cast out for producing no fruit.
I understand Jesus was speaking to the Jews but it applies to everyone who believes in Him. We believers are now grafted into the tree. We are now the servants. What happened to them can happen to us. Just as Paul warned God can also cut us off. At the end we can be that unfaithful servant. We can be the unprofitable servant. We can be the ones who fall away because of persecution or the cares of the world choking the word leading us to become unfruitful.
Their argument is always what about the thief on the cross. As if the man wasn't about to die right after He called on Jesus. He obviously didn't have to work out his salvation with fear and trembling because he immediately died. A blessing for him really. But for us who live on its a whole different game. We have to go through trials persecutions and endure.
