they were hand's down one of the best live bands of the 80s. saw them many times in a bar setting and they were beyond. one of my favorite bands of that era. underrated just like the cult!
A perfect song, the perfect video to go with it, and who could top the singer's enthusiasm in this one? Nobody....My girlfriend says this could very well be the most underrated song of all time....the other people who've left their very favorable comments here notwithstanding.
I saw them multiple times at Reunion Room and Squeeze in Ft Lauderdale back in the late 80s. Great song. Good times. Marilyn Manson play these clubs also.
Best band many have never heard of! I saw them live in New Orleans with Red Hot Chili Peppers and WOW, they were perfect for an opening act and may have even surpassed the performance by the Peppers!
Saw them in Memphis at The Satellite iirc. It was a great show! I asked the guitarist with the long blonde hair when they would be coming back to my city. He told me that they don't do such small venues like that anymore. Never heard of them ever again. Stay humble young musicians. Dont jinx it.
Thank you for posting this! I've been looking for it for a long time! Had only heard it once before and thought it was called "Flesh Blanket" but I'm so glad that I know the name of the song now and the group too!
Went up to Memphis to see them; they were great. Asked the cutie guitarist when they were coming back to Little Rock. In his best arrogant rock star affect he told me, "We just don't play small venues anymore." Last time I ever even heard of them. ouch
Bro, I saw them late 80s at a progressive rock club in south Florida. I was fucking mesmorized by the singer. I think her name is Hope Nichols, not 100% sure...after the show she was at the bar and my friends and i bought her a drink. I told her how much i love dher stage presence and she was so cool. She gave me a trading card with the freaking midgets from the Wizard od Oz and signed my name saying I was now part of her Lollipop Guild! So trippy. Best night of my life...you are right, she should have been a superstar. Banging show.
Thanks for the idea!!! I usually listen to New Order. If I switched to Fetchin Bones to listen to while working out, I’ll either a) have a heart attack b) be in the greatest shape of my life.
I saw them open for the Red Hot Chlli Peppers in a alleyway bar/stage small place in the eightees. Still the best two shows I've EVER seen and I see everyone. This band didn't get their due. Word was the girl was involved with someone else in the band and they got into it and both quit or she quit or something. And you never heard about her again. Sad, she was extraordinary, one of a kind. She could have been Madonna famous. Wherever you are chick, you were UNBELIEVABLY great!
According to the guy hosting 120 Minutes at the time, they broke up because the record company wasn't doing anything to promote the band. TBH, your story sounds just as plausible. If you Google the bassist (Dana Pentes), you'll see she's changed quite a lot since those days. But I suppose that's true for ALL of us!
Saw em opening 4 Red Hot Chili Peppers "Mother's Milk" tour, ca. Oct.'88, @ Janus Landing/Club Detroit, St. Pete, FL-- Brutal S.Carolina Southern postPunk/protoGrunge!
I loved the bass player. I've forgotten her name since she doesn't deal in men. No problem for me. She is a beauty. Best band Charlotte ever produced!!!!!!!!
Boy, are you ever WRONG! This masterpiece kicks ass from start to finish, and in our book, it ALWAYS will!...We do like your cat though, and I'll bet he just LOVES this song!
It is odd when you think about it that this was on college radio back in the day. In retrospect it really had no business being on it all. It's just kind of dull generic rock and roll. A bit like bad era cult. Maybe because it was a female band and the record company didn't really know how to promote them. I remember hearing this constantly on our college radio station KUNV in Las Vegas.
Try something from their Galaxy 500 record (Chicken Truck sticks in my head). They made music that was weirdly-shaped and hard to hold. Sort of Throwing Muses meets Oingo Boingo. The odd thing is that somebody thought they were worthy of four albums in the first place, they were so obviously not generic. Someone went to a great deal of trouble trying to make them sound normal on this song.
Boy, are you ever WRONG! I loved this song when I first heard it years ago, and every time I hear it now, it just keeps sounding better & better to me.
MONSTER was my introduction to them. Went back and bought everything they ever recorded. Great band. Should have been huge.

Saw them live in the 90's, fell madly in lust with the bass player. Kinda cool band live. The singer had Tons of energy!

The metro Chicago one of the best shows of that year. Love you Hope, a shot out to you from Chicago. I hope you are well, happy and safe.
Well, it just doesn't get any better than this.

Wow! Thanks for loading this up, I loved this video/song way back when. Still do.

She went on to form Snagglepuss and Sugarsmack in the 90s…released some great music!
She’s in a band now called It’s Snakes…singing and playing drums!
@@CelesteKing great thanks
She lives here I my city now. Owns a cool clothing store.
Has a daughter named Belle.
My favorite band of all time
Picked up a promo of this album while working at Tower Records in the Panorama City at some point during the summer of '89.
❤ Danna @ 0:38
I saw them at Chattanooga State Tech. Community college in '89 or '90. You cant get much smaller than that. It was a great show though!
"Man , there's a huge fly in here!"
I believe I heard them at the button South
I feel the power 🎉❤
Hey Music Biz, there is a reason we are still talking about them
Can we see a HD version of this anywhere?
@synapticflow YES!!! I REALLY miss the WAWL (91.5 I think it was). UTC still has one of the best stations in town!!!
When I say she "could have" means she had the talent and ability too.
@JaredLeesMom Awesome. Remember when Chattanooga State played good music and UTC had Unradio?
Saw em opening 4 Red Hot Chili Peppers "Mother's Milk" tour, ca. Oct.'88, @ Janus Landing/Club Detroit, St. Pete, FL-- Brutal S.Carolina Southern postPunk/protoGrunge!
MAD MONK 😊😊😊😊😊
In S.C. ? Really, thats where I live. I posted above my experience. Is she in a band, do you have news of any sort? Thanks
Hope is still a goddess
Flesh blanket be mine
Sugar Smack!
Didn't she play on Purple School Bus?
This band is the poster child of a music business with a serous lack of understanding of what is legit.
I loved the bass player. I've forgotten her name since she doesn't deal in men. No problem for me. She is a beauty.
Best band Charlotte ever produced!!!!!!!!
Man, I liked them back in the day but this sure doesn't hold up.

***** I really only remember this song. I would have to take a listen to some of the other songs.

+sparklerdims I happen to have LOVED Fetchin Bones back in the day and think they were amazing!!!!
I love 80s and 90s alternative, and I bought this album, but this song has not aged well. It's really awful.
