  • 2+ hours of ambient hiking POV in the Natural Park of Posets-Maladeta, Benasque, Spanish Pyrenees.
This is Part 2 of the hike, descending from the Great Lake of Batisielles back to the trailhead. You can watch Part 1 here: • Hiking to the Great La...
The hike to Ibón Grande de Batisielles in the Natural Park of Posets-Maladeta offers a scenic, moderately challenging route through the diverse landscapes of the Spanish Pyrenees. Beginning near Benasque, the trail initially weaves through dense pine forests, accompanied by the soothing sounds of the Estós River. Gradual elevation gain leads to sweeping mountain vistas, with rocky outcrops and panoramic views of the park’s towering peaks. Midway, hikers encounter Ibón de Batisielles, a smaller alpine lake with striking turquoise waters surrounded by pine-studded slopes, providing a natural rest spot.
Continuing the ascent, the trail becomes steeper and rockier as it approaches the destination: the Great Lake of Batisielles. This glacier-fed lake lies in a pristine alpine basin, its waters mirroring the rugged ridges and snowy patches surrounding it. The crystal-clear lake offers a serene, high-altitude setting, ideal for observing native flora and fauna, including wildflowers, marmots, and birds of prey. In parts of the journey back I followed an alternative trail, providing alternative views of the park’s varied landscapes and a gradual descent to the forested base.
Overall, this 18-kilometer hike, with an elevation gain of around 1100 meters, is suited to intermediate hikers seeking an immersive Pyrenean experience through rich forested areas, open meadows, and high-altitude glacial lakes.

I didn't think that camera jumping up and down will lbe so annoying ), but after a while it is. Not much to against I assume unless you want to spend some money on stabilizer and then drug this thing with you for tens of kilometers...Not sure what I was trying to say here, I like the fact that you have filmed the path but the camera movement is not the best I guess..
Anyway thank you for sharing, enjoy your adventures !

Thank you for the feedback. I used a GoPro 11 camera on this hike with electronic image stabilization. It’s usually effective for hiking, but I think hiking down technical trails involves many sharp movements, making it hard to stabilize the image. The camera was chest-mounted, so it moves with the body’s center of mass. I hope you find my other videos easier to watch.
