To all the doctors, nurses, first responders, fast food workers, grocery store workers and to anyone working through all these to all of us "You're doing a good job".
@Quinn Dang if grocery stores closed or no employees showed up to work no one would be able to get groceries and both them and fast food workers are risking their lives for complete strangers that's a hero in my book. And why bring up celebrities no one mentioned one. If you don't like the music or my opinion then don't listen to the music and don't comment on my comment.
Thank you. That second verse got to me a bit as I'm headed to work. I'm in the security field but I da*n sure don't make minimum wage. I take days off with pay, sometimes half-days. I'm also blessed enough to have an emergency fund for times like this. People just like to get on a soapbox to seem holier-than-thou with no clue of how dedicated others are, how much they love their job/careers, or how much they earn or the excellence of the benefits they receive, or their life plan. Heck, I've had teachers become upset when they learn these things about my field. Again, I thank you.
This song makes me feel proud to be a single father. Had to be the father, the mother, the teacher, and the preacher. It's my only claim to fame. Respect to the single moms. You have the toughest job in the world.

Im pretty sure money and status is the essence of her job. Are you this delusional? You think people like this give a single shit about us common folk? If it makes you feel better to believe shes some benevolent saint, i guess ignorance is your bliss. Either way shes gonna love all that money she makes off of this exploitative garbage.
Yesterday was my graduation and they played this when I was walking up to the stairs to collect awards and I almost cried to myself knowing I struggled and had sleepless nights while in high school. Indeed I'm doing a good job🤗🎓
For those few postings stating this is insulting and that front line workers need protective equipment and not a song, need to understand that this song is not to harm but to uplift our spirits during these difficult times. This is not a time to hate, but to be supportive and loving to each other--if you feel different, then you need to look in the mirror and question your own humanity. AK your song is beautiful and will help 99.99% of us as we navigate through these trying times...god bless you and all those who put others above themselves.
This song is so sweet is relevant to EVERYONE. I’m a mail carrier and I have two little ones, my mother is a manager at a grocery store and I have a father that’s terminally ill and it’s a struggle not being able to see him during this time. It’s a tough time and I appreciate all workers and my thoughts and prayers are with those who are not able to work. We are all in this together. We should all be spreading love and compassion right now. Thanks Alicia ♥️

I am a physician working at a city hospital in NYC during this COVID pandemic. I can't help crying my eyes out every time I listen to this song (and "Underdog" as well) but I keep coming back to it. Every day. This song soothes souls of all front-line workers. I cannot thank you enough Alicia Keys.
This kind of melody and tune reminds me of old beautiful moments that we have had encountered during our lives. Alicia you have created hope for all of us to become stronger and appreciate that we can survive this pandemic and go back to normal life as better people of our own and for the people around us and understand that we are one creature and we are equal.
My best friend dedicated this song to me while I was feeling like giving up. 😭😭😭 she isn’t blood but she most definitely is my soul sister ❤. I forever love you sis. Thank you so much for the inspiration. Being a wife full time college student and mother of a partially deaf epileptic delayed baby boy, I get stressed but god I love my best friend she knows how to help.
One of my students just sent me this song. I felt so down and tired and I felt so uplifted to the point of crying. Thank you Alicia Keys. This gives me the strength to continues.
Tellement !
Being a healthcare worker it honestly hasn't been easy especially during this time of the pandemic waking up every morning feeling alright I consider that a gift from God because the uncertainty that comes with one not being sure if you'll be next person to be infected by the virus is not a good feeling you learn to live one day at a time and it's through music that we continue staying hopeful and giving it our all because it's a calling and it's a profession I'll choose over and over again.Good job to my fellow health professionals we are all in this together and together we shall over come.Nice music Alicia keys .

What a way to start a song. The piano start with that one arm around. Then the 1st line. The the 2nd line, is like that other arm wrapped around. To speak from such a place where you can speak from somewhere else. And maybe cause positivity seems like a trend. But somewhere deep down it seems genuine, natural. Cheers to every beauty that is touched by such a slice. Thank you for continuing to share.

I'd like to take a second to dedicate this powerhouse of a song to all the doctors, nurses, biomedical scientists and pathologists etc working at the forefront of this Covid-19 pandemic. You're doing a good job👏👏👏❤
This song still gets me every time I hear this song. For essential workers out there; doctors, nurses, bankers, police, customer service, grocery store workers, taxi drivers, and everyone else who keeps this country moving. THIS is exactly what should be told to you. It may not be what we want to hear, but it helps. It's beautiful . . . . . I work in a call center for a bank and every day. Fielding hundreds of questions. Panic over COVID related anything. The day that the stimulus check came out it overloaded the online banking systems for multiple financial institutions. That was the day that most of us took over 100 calls in a six hour stretch.
The peace, power, and strength in these lyrics underscore how much pain we are all feeling. They also bring light to how we will get through this together with the help of the medical staff, we should never dim their light they are always, and will always do “a good job “ thank you. And thank you Alicia for helping to bring everyone’s mind and soul to where it should be. ❤️

This is just so profound😢...the lyrics, the way it was sung, this is for all our heroes who stood on the front line for our sake to keep us safe. Your selfless acts will never be forgotten. Know that you've done a GOOD JOB.
I'm a nurse of 28 yrs, a mother to four grown children, Nana to 5 beautiful humans...I pour myself into my family, my relationship, my friends & my job..my daughter sent me this song and it hit right to my heart! Thank you dear daughter...thank you Alicia Keys!❤

this song is so pure. like raw emotion in her voice. Alica, you did that Queen. 💖
she’s always so down to earth, honest and real i love that about her and this song tops it once again
if she ever stops making music i don’t know what to do with myself 🥴

There’s no song of Alicia that is not born from LOVE.
Love is the essence of her job, entirely.
That’s what makes her so different, ♥️
I think that's why we Love this Woman so much❤
Thank you
Agreed
Im pretty sure money and status is the essence of her job. Are you this delusional? You think people like this give a single shit about us common folk? If it makes you feel better to believe shes some benevolent saint, i guess ignorance is your bliss. Either way shes gonna love all that money she makes off of this exploitative garbage.
This song is as fake as it even gets, tho..
Yesterday was my graduation and they played this when I was walking up to the stairs to collect awards and I almost cried to myself knowing I struggled and had sleepless nights while in high school. Indeed I'm doing a good job🤗🎓
I just retired from a major airline 25 yrs, my daughter just this this song to me! OH MY GOODNESS, Thank you!
So beautiful Ms Keys!
AK your song is beautiful and will help 99.99% of us as we navigate through these trying times...god bless you and all those who put others above themselves.
i honestly dont think anyone posted something that stupid
This song is so sweet is relevant to EVERYONE. I’m a mail carrier and I have two little ones, my mother is a manager at a grocery store and I have a father that’s terminally ill and it’s a struggle not being able to see him during this time. It’s a tough time and I appreciate all workers and my thoughts and prayers are with those who are not able to work. We are all in this together. We should all be spreading love and compassion right now.
Thanks Alicia ♥️
Erica Campbell, stay strong and stay safe. I’m sure you are doing your best and your mom also. Just remember behind every strong man, there’s a stronger woman.
Send you love from Italy.

I am a teacher and a single mother of 2. It’s beyond hard. I battle depression badly and when I start talking negatively to myself I listen to this and it literally brings me to tears because it validates the struggle that I wake up and endure on a daily basis. Love this

Merci Alicia, Qu’elle belle chanson! To all the front line workers who save lives and all essential workers too. I want to say Thankyou and Good Job!
Thank you for everything you do.

God bless whoever reading this

The day that the stimulus check came out it overloaded the online banking systems for multiple financial institutions. That was the day that most of us took over 100 calls in a six hour stretch.
i love how she is still old school , so much power in her voice . You're doing a good job Alicia xD

Song lyrics :
You're the engine that makes all things go
And you're always in disguise, my hero
I see your light in the dark
Smile in my face when we all know it's hard
There's no way to ever pay you back
Bless your heart, know I love you for that
Honest and selfless
I don't know if this helps it but
Good Job
You're doing a good job
You're doing a good job
Don't get too down
The world needs you now
Know that you matter
Matter matter yeah
Good Job
You're doing a good job
You're doing a good job
Don't get too down
The world needs you now
Know that you matter
Matter matter yeah
Six in the morning
And soon as you walk through that door
Everyone needs you again
The world's out of order
It's not as sound
When you're not around
All day on your feet
Hard to
Keep that energy
I know
When it feels like the end of the road
You don't let go
You just press forward
You're the engine that makes all things go
Always in disguise, my hero
I see a light in the dark
Smile in my face
When we all know it's hard
There is no way to ever pay you back
Bless your heart
Know I love you for that
Honest and selfless
I don't know if this helps it but
Good Job
You're doing a good job
You're doing a good job
Don't get too down
The world needs you now
Know that you matter
Matter matter yeah
Good job
You're doing a good job
You're doing a good job
Don't get too down
The world needs you now
Know that you matter
Matter matter yeah
The Mothers
The Fathers
The Teachers that reach us
Strangers to friends
That show up in the end
From the bottom to the top
The listeners that hear us
This for you
You make me fearless
You're doing a good Job
You're doing a good job
You're doing a good job
Don't get too down
The world needs you now
Know that you matter
Matter matter yeah

After a long shift in the hospital like today i needed to hear this. To everyone staying home this too is for you. Thank you.
I'm so thankful for this song, my patient died from COVID 19 and this song really lived up my sprit. Thank you, because it's not easy out there. I ended up with depression and anxiety, don't know if I will ever be the same.. Pray for me while I am praying for you.
