Well whata ya know, Hebrews ch 1-2 seems to tell us that God stopped using prophets after Jesus (and His Gospel) came onto the seen. When you have a preacher or others say "God told me to tell you..." or, that they are making a prediction of a future event invoking God, just refer them to Hebrews ch 1-2 or this video.
