I thought she was at least 13 or 14, but NINE?!??! 😮 She has a maturity about her -- the control, the artistry, the technique, the musicality, the deliberateness, the sensitivity -- not something you see often in a 9-year-old!

Sylvie has so much maturity in her dance , everything is grace , delicacy and emotions when she is on stage . And I have to say , Sylvie’s classical variation was unbelievable !!! She deserve the hope award 💯 % !!! How does she have this level at 9 😭???

@ yeah , obviously she did get the Hope Award ! She was truly the best in both classical and contemporary! The most amazing thing is that Ellary Day won the youth award on the same evening 🤩🤩

Amazing sensitivity of the hands. I think this is a good indicator of future artistry. A thing to remember is that choreography is a major factor for the appearance of acrobatics vs dance.

She is pretty underweight. The tendons on the back of her legs when she squats down and her hip bones showing on the backside doesn't look healthy, even for a ballerina.
@@audreymai2773she is not underweight🙄🙄 stop commenting on a child’s body without knowing. Her sister looks just like her, long and slim arms and legs, with toned muscles and tendons but not muscular. If she were underweight she would not be able to do not even half of this routine which requires intense strength not compatible with a weak child, this is what a professional dancers body looks like when they exercise constantly, and also very clearly genetics. This is how many young girls outside of obese USA actually look like, skinny or frail but actually healthy, when they grow older in teenage years they gain curves along with fat n muscles in legs and torso. So do everyone a favor and keep ur mouth shut

I think it’s evident that to look good in a non coloured costume you need to have amazing well everything.. and that’s the phenomenal part of this a 9 year old that isn’t costumed to distract..you cannot miss a beat.. incredible effort!!!!

Yes, an incredible talent with incredible physical attributes and an astonishingly mature expression that doesn't seem artificial to me. And at the same time I think (as a former dancer myself): does this girl have a healthy youth ahead of her? Are there not qualms about how her body has been so drastically reshaped during her still ongoing growing years?
I join you in concern. Yes, she’s amazing. But she is so young. The overflexion is a staple of rhythmic gymnastics which has concerned me for years. It’s been creeping into ballet, too. It is absolutely fascinating to watch; I don’t find it beautiful. I hope this young girl enjoys it and is not being pushed , and i wish her a happy, healthy life.
As a rhythmic gymnast myself, I can say that getting rhis level of mobility, flexibility, and control would require insane amounts of not only hard work and natural ability, but also a very deep understanding of technique. She is absolutely incredible; I just hope that she will not burn out as a result
I wish I had stuck with my stretching and workouts when I was young. It's so much easier to maintain flexibility than to lose it and try to regain it later in life. That's kind of true of any other aspect of fitness as well--strength, endurance, agility, balance, etc. Start training when you're young and just keep it up throughout your life, even if sometimes you only have time to do the basics. So much better than trying to play catch-up in your 50's.

When do girls start training nowadays? Back in my time, professional training started around the age of eight. If I remember correctly, it was believed younger children wouldn't have the body awareness required to follow the training, unlike gymnastics and figure skating, which could be started younger. 🤔
