This song hits different for me, I grew up in a dark place 4-9 Me n my brother was getting beat by my moms ex husband everytime he was drunk. He would hardly feed us when our mom was gone from work, I had to steal food in order to survive. My mom was hardly in the picture growing up at all, I never really had a mom. Me and my bro were always involved with police due to shootings in my neighborhood, drug deals, and all that involves in the dirt. After they divorced our parents started to abuse us, then my mom met and got engaged to a big drug dealer in my city. she got hooked onto coke, she would always leave us for him. I would be begging her on my knees to stay with us and spend time with us as such a little kid but she never did. I can say a lot more things but my life was never easy for me.. so this song makes me feel a certain way because of how he speaks about how he grew up and the struggles he had to get thru.
EDIT: i’m doing great right now, thank you to everyone who ever replied and comforted me and told me some of the most kindest words i’ve been told. I love you all and you all can get through anything & everything. almost 2 years later and I have a son, when I say there is no such thing better as being a parent and there is such thing as unconditional love.
