When you expounded on Danny rejecting the mainstream views of modern academia on the subject of permaculture, I was impressed. Mainstream views, and conventional wisdom has in my view held most people back instead of allowing their progress. I got my degree's long after they did any good for my career. College is for networking, but experience is for educating. My success in business,family, and finance has little to do with education, and more to do with critical thinking skills taught by my parents. Danny and you Billy are suceeding because you both know how to think for yourselves.

I loved this. Thank you so much. I"m in Nor Cal...have irrigation water and on a well. Been a bit worried about the water thing. I grow my stuff in containers - really ticked off with the squirrels. They are eating my fruit. And I know about starvation, having starved. THat's why I am trying to get everything together. Want a mini dairy and a rooster now. The climate here is a micro climate all right. So far avocado and lemon grow well here and apples. Also blackberries are native on the property. Was going to grow more blackberries so the deer would eat them and also provide a better fence for horses. I wish I would have gotten into this years ago. God was telling me to grow a while ago - it is expensive. Was going to buy one of those machines that makes fertilizer from your kitchen scraps. Fertilizer is so expensive.
You can make fertilizer with dead leaves in water, let it sit forever, just add water to this tea as needed and add a small dose of this to your watering and you'll be fine. You can get some tulle on eBay to cover your crops and tie a bit around your trees that the squirrel will be deterred from getting tangled up in it. It might work. God bless

You can put very small wind turbines in the tunnel and get more energy than those oversized monsters they now sell. A charge controller to regulate recharge of batteries, prevent it from over zapping batteries between that and solar. I also think you can have reserve electricity by you now existing rain towers. Put turbines in the down pipe from these raised water barrels. They did the same in Portland Oregon Do you think there will be no more wars if everybody has a homestead, that makes all the food and energy you need? I guess there will always be godless power hungry war mongers.

You need to water yourself, your animals and the plants and trees. Water is needed to cleanse and cool the body. What I will say next is not a conspiracy or a theory. It is a fact that we have the technology to have it rain, snow ANYWHERE and anytime. We have the ability to make it rain for days across California. It has been very hot here in Eastern Kentucky. It has been 95 degrees with 83 percent humidity = 103 degrees. I purchased this land because it is surrounded by a creek which is very low now. The humidity is so high that I pull buckets of water out of the air with a dehumidifier. Billy made an astute point about the Matrix and people losing it there. Now we have that Metaverse! I am so glad my daughter is grown.

Ya'll are so right. i am a self taught carpenter. degrees that people brag about, but then they have nothing they have produced from it. I have renovated my house over the last 3 years by myself, I've tiled and have done wood work without the help of some professional. I am now to the point where I can start working my property. it's not a big piece of property, but it is enough to grow lots of food. I do wish to know about the Bone sauce. I've lost several twig fruit trees to the deer. I am in Texas Zone 8, and it's been really hot lately. I started sweet potatoes on my front porch and they have taken off.

Decided he was alternative. Live in a growingly Big, Rebellious City in the NW. Getting pretty scary here. You gave a lot of info on your perimeter zones the first video I saw. I have a suburban lot. very few zones. But I have been working this ground for 43yrs. It has changed and I have gotten older and less strong physically. How would you and Danny or just you advise some of us in this situation? Move? where? Need community! Could my little Lot get me into a better spot? or just stay put? sorry it is so long. In my Great Lakes area, Hickorys tell us water is close underground. Depending on your region itll vary. Also if we have reed grass clumps ..seeps/springs underneath

I work at WallyWorld and you're right. the variety and choices of produce versus literally anything else is basically null and void BUT when you said "growing any tomato at home with miracle grow is probably better than anything "Organic" they are selling us" really BLEW my mind. I'm sad that you're probably not wrong... and Idk about you but I know how I feel about Miracle Grow/ Monsanto/Bayer and the fact that is still probably better than the $2 tomatoes I'm buying...

i rescued 100 fruit shrubs and fruit trees from a local nursery that were thrown out. they all lived. the owner gave them away. always ask, you might get blessed.

As always I either learn a plethora of knowledge and/or get some validation to something I’m already doing. Just this week I was out in a park and found some goldenrod. I dug it up, brought it home and transplanted it on my property! I loaded a plant identification app and mosey along taking stock of what is where. I am trying to replace my medicine cabinet with natural alternatives. Ohhhhh I almost forgot the wild elderberry I also discovered. I won’t transfer those until the fall but better believe I know how to get back to them :) Shalom ya’ll!
thank the LORD....my husband was a WATER WELL DRILLER..... i can wash down a well with a hose and determine when I hit Water....when big sand and shells and sharks teeth start coming up while we're drilling......IM IN THE WATER STRATA OF WATER!!! some time 20 gallons per minute!!!
You are talking about a subject that seems so important to me. I am starting to understand how important a clean source of water is. We have 2 creeks on our property but they go dry in drought. We have a drilled well but deal with iron in our water, we use a water filter on our pump. Just purchased 2 acres behind us and it has a drilled well and a hand dug well. Going to have the water tested when we are able to get the pump going.
Y'all have Radically Changed my Life!!! One day we will meet & when we get our property I pray that I can pay William to hook me up with a blueprint for my land.

You're dead on Danny! We're in Utah, and everything is drying up WAY too fast. Having the influx of people coming into the state over the last few years, really strained the water tables out here. We have been planning to move east, not just because of the water issues, but yes, y'all are probably going to see a huge migration from the west. Including me and mine.

Great conversation, much of what I have been saying for years. My family listens but do nothing. One thought, when the hoards of city dwellers begin to search for food and they make it to your place and begin to take your chickens, etc are you going to kill to keep what you have? We have discussed this and have come to the conclusion that we would not kill another person over food. Just as the Lord provided for the widow lady and Elijah and many others, He will provide for us no matter what the situation becomes. Now, that also makes me to know that it is wise to store food in unusual places that no one would think to look. There is no doubt that the millions of people who have not prepared or live in the cities and have not prepared will be out searching for whatever they can get, even if it means killing you to get it. May God have His mighty hand upon all who put their trust in Him.

In my Great Lakes area, Hickorys tell us water is close underground. Depending on your region itll vary. Also if we have reed grass clumps ..seeps/springs underneath

Wow... that got me. 2 things really. I work at WallyWorld and you're right. the variety and choices of produce versus literally anything else is basically null and void BUT when you said "growing any tomato at home with miracle grow is probably better than anything "Organic" they are selling us" really BLEW my mind. I'm sad that you're probably not wrong... and Idk about you but I know how I feel about Miracle Grow/ Monsanto/Bayer and the fact that is still probably better than the $2 tomatoes I'm buying...

As always I either learn a plethora of knowledge and/or get some validation to something I’m already doing. Just this week I was out in a park and found some goldenrod. I dug it up, brought it home and transplanted it on my property! I loaded a plant identification app and mosey along taking stock of what is where. I am trying to replace my medicine cabinet with natural alternatives. Ohhhhh I almost forgot the wild elderberry I also discovered. I won’t transfer those until the fall but better believe I know how to get back to them :)

thank the LORD....my husband was a WATER WELL DRILLER..... i can wash down a well with a hose and determine when I hit Water....when big sand and shells and sharks teeth start coming up while we're drilling......IM IN THE WATER STRATA OF WATER!!! some time 20 gallons per minute!!!
You are talking about a subject that seems so important to me. I am starting to understand how important a clean source of water is. We have 2 creeks on our property but they go dry in drought. We have a drilled well but deal with iron in our water, we use a water filter on our pump. Just purchased 2 acres behind us and it has a drilled well and a hand dug well. Going to have the water tested when we are able to get the pump going.
Y'all have Radically Changed my Life!!! One day we will meet & when we get our property I pray that I can pay William to hook me up with a blueprint for my land.

You're dead on Danny! We're in Utah, and everything is drying up WAY too fast. Having the influx of people coming into the state over the last few years, really strained the water tables out here. We have been planning to move east, not just because of the water issues, but yes, y'all are probably going to see a huge migration from the west. Including me and mine.

Great conversation, much of what I have been saying for years. My family listens but do nothing. One thought, when the hoards of city dwellers begin to search for food and they make it to your place and begin to take your chickens, etc are you going to kill to keep what you have? We have discussed this and have come to the conclusion that we would not kill another person over food. Just as the Lord provided for the widow lady and Elijah and many others, He will provide for us no matter what the situation becomes. Now, that also makes me to know that it is wise to store food in unusual places that no one would think to look. There is no doubt that the millions of people who have not prepared or live in the cities and have not prepared will be out searching for whatever they can get, even if it means killing you to get it. May God have His mighty hand upon all who put their trust in Him.
