Hi James I hope you are surviving lock down ok, I will take a stab at the Hydro Oil level, I reckon they probably need to fill the reservoir initially so the hydraulic lines & pumps etc are filled to capacity and the little mark at the bottom of the reservoir is just to make sure you have enough reserve and something as a reference check. Any inside Goss on the HRU216, are they going to update it anyway, new motor or gearbox? I want one but I really want the hydro drive like your hrx17.
Cheers mate, makes sense! I haven't heard anything new on the 216s, I believe with the most recently released models they changed a few components but I don't know when the next update will be
@@JWNLawnCare I have a Scag SVR36A with a Kawasaki FX600V with Gator blades, drops a nice clean cut, running blocker plate, and she's a beast, had to travel from Melbourne to Penrith NSW to get her. I have a few yards on my run that have pedestrian gate access only, the 36 inch is perfect, and the turnover time is great. Keep up the good work and your vids mate. The best bit, the scag uses 20W 50 engine oil as its hydraulic medium, I had to read that twice in the operators manual, lol.
@@redgersbeck5005 That's pretty cool! Interesting that had you to go to NSW though given the Scag distributor is actually down here in Melbourne. I've got a 36" stand on as well, and definitely really thankful for its tight access capability on a number of occasions. I have found it misses a fair few gates by hardly anything too though so that's a bit annoying.
@@JWNLawnCare Was a good excuse for a road trip, plus not many used second hand commercial units under 42 inch show up for sale, naturally I pounced on it, as for real tight fits, access wise, I do have this one property, lol, about 3 minutes worth of argey-bargey to get thru and I'm in. With the run I have, that 36 inch stander is a must have in my line up.
My 30inch toro terfemuster broke the piston fell out of the crack case and into the block. Its only 5 years old its a $2400 mower my toro proline 21 is 15 years old and is still going maybe the 30inch is just to big for that 179 kawasaki is the 200cc koler out in australia yet love that 48
Yeah man that's the biggest reason I didn't buy the Turfy. The current engine is far too small for the deck size. Word going around is that the new models with the bigger engines will be in soon but who knows what covid has done to those plans
How do you find the size fitting in smaller properties ?. I am trying to figure out whether to use a smaller mower and get big 72 inch for bigger properties.
We've got 4 different size mowers currently active, 36", 44", this 48" and a 72". The 48" fits into most of our smaller jobs but there are some that my old 42" would just make so this obviously doesn't and that's where the 36" comes in handy. 72"s are great for big open areas but be mindful that because of how wide the deck is you do need pretty flat terrain to get a good cut and there's lots of places you won't be able to get them through. Depending on your gate sizes a 48" and 72" might work well but again unless you're doing wide open areas I probably wouldn't go bigger than 60"
@@JWNLawnCare ok cool. Do you find the 32 stand on too heavy when the ground is wet. I was thinking of getting a 48 or 52 inch zero turn and wasn't sure whether to get a 30inch walk behind for areas that a 48 inch zero turn wont fit
@@bbardy3924 A lot of guys round here went crazy for 32"s a while back but a lot have since been sold because yes they can make a mess when it gets really wet. I haven't had too many issues with my 36 as it has bigger wheels but still causes problems in some places. Depending on how many smaller lawns you do I think a 48" and a 21" or 30" pushy is a good combo
Thank you James,I like your new intro, good presentation and informative video, all the best kind regards
Great video
Next year I might venture into the standard.
Definitely have a look at them mate! Very comfortable and versatile machines

G'day mate, very nice rig indeed, standers are a grouse unit, I myself just got one last year
Cheers mate. I certainly love em! Much better for tight access lawns that's for sure. Do you have a Grandstand as well?
