Yeah tech is cool no matter if it makes something easier. Besides you can turn a bunch of the things off but otherwise they just make cruising more fun.
Ok the comments in here are hilarious... "So many sensors, a nightmare to fix, my village mechanic can't even fix my 2008 Daimler.... I'm working in development for this car and I can tell you, you guys are not the target group lol. This car is made for high government officials, managers, people that have drivers. The back of the car is basically a mobile office. So yeah, is don't think it's really practical for general mechanics or private people because Audi couldn't care less with this car.
This exactly. I was in the German army and our minister of defence used this car to get around, reinforced ofc. Once she visited our barracks and I saw it up close very impressive. But nonetheless it was a maxed out audi a8. The people commenting here how it costs so much or how service is unaffordable probably have no idea that the a8 is a business car made for businessmen that don't give a damn about money.
For which deparemt are you working bro ? You are absolutely right. This car is for the top 1% ,not for the plebs. I was thinking to buy this or a house. Now I live in my a8 and im the top. I never looked back ,because of all the cameras it has.
most people can drive but a human can't do everything perfect. this car isn't made for those who can't drive for shit but to help people with their driving and prevent people from getting into accidents etc...
When you're driving, you don't just drive for you but also for everyone on the road. You always need to predict what other drivers might do but you can't predict everything at all time and this car can help you to improve your safety.

I'm a BMW person. I drive 5 series and as much as I thought I'd always want a 7 series, I sat in one and I wasn't impressed. This however is a totally tech fest. I've not enjoyed many Audi's that I've been in, but their design is improving (in my opinion, as I've never really liked them much). This looks like quite a fun car to play with, and it's safety and convenience features look great. Love the subtle animated lights when they turn on and off.

How on earth is this Most HI-Tech car? BMW and Mercedes had all this features years before Audi. You can say that about anything thing though not just new Audis. iPhone have more components but you won’t decide not to get it because there is more that can go wrong
people keep saying "it will cost a fortune to fix when something goes wrong" which is a dumb response because people who can afford to buy a luxury car probably arent worried about money and probably wont even have the car long enough for warranty to run out. And it doesnt really drive itself, it can just assist with basic driving that a computer can process but I wouldnt trust the sensors completely with my life and the parking thing is just handy in the city where parking can be really tight and underground.
@@torar_ the nice thing is, what they built in now, will be someday in the future standard for every car. but now its a luxus thing for people who can afford it. But someone has to do a step in this direction and often it is a german car who does it, therefore maybe less reliable, but like i said someone needs to start and implement such systems to become standrd and afordable
Yes if you are buying new. However, when it gets used it will be far more cheaper and affordable, yet the maintenance cost will be through the roof, so potentially a poison pill for an uninformed used car buyer. :)
hhah thats right. i would buy a toyota instead. cuz german fools cant make cars. this is tecnology used 20 years ago. go and look at toyoto cars in japan. who do you want to fool? german tecnolgy is like 20 years in the past as rest of the world. japan, usa, china and so on use new tec.. this is nothing then a couple sensors here and there which send a command to the computing unit to hit the break for instance or to raise the suspension on the right side of the car. this has nothing to do with high tech. it is new tech for german cars... thats right. hight tech is tesla, toyoto... not audi or vw.
Definitely high tech. But i wonder if that suspension will ever last more than 2 years before aching for a full replacement. Rear Wheel steering is a must have, considering the length of the luxury cars these days.
True but it's still going to be a nightmare. You can visit the tech training but how many of these will you see after this and how much will you remember when one arrives?
very true, though it can get very very costly. The father of a highscool buddy of mine had a second hand A8 (one year old) which had adaptive suspension amongst many other cool options. Not as high tech as the 2018 model has but it would still do things like lower itself at higher speeds and adapt it's ride-height too the road etc. One day he goes to step into his car and it's sitting crazy low, almost as if it was slammed. So he had to drive it to the dealer at snails pace going over speed bumps diagonally as if he was a ricer idiot. They diagnosed it and the control chip for the suspension was f*cked. No biggy cause the chip was "reasonably priced" at around 450 euro's. Replacing is wasn't a small feat though. They had to pull the entire block out of the car to get to it. 450 euro part, 7000-8000 euro's in labour. little over 1/10 of what he paid for the car in repairs. He could afford the repair no problem but he sure as hell wasn't thrilled to fork over that kind of money. Luxury cars are filled to the brim with fancy electronics and systems that will fail you at some point and when they do it's a pretty hefty bill. - One because they are exclusive cars to begin with so parts aren't readily available. - Two because it usually has to be done by certified dealership mechanics and those have a pretty steep hourly rate. - Three, and this goes for most modern cars but more stuff there is in the car = less room to work with, getting to a module or part is usually a pain in the ass and it's labour intensive. It's pretty well known that modern luxury cars, for example BWM's, are awesome the first 5-7 years of their life but after that you shouldn't be surprised it slowly starts to 'fall apart'. Weird electrical issues start popping up all over the place. Things like; windows going down but not up , systems going 'HAL9000' on you causing all sorts of weird things to happen to lights/wind wipers etc. sometimes caused by something you'd think has nothing to do with said system. like a broken radio-unit (happened with some Mercedes models) or you steering wheel audio controls. Those kind of issues are very hard to diagnose and source because it's usually some kind of combination of issues that causes the problems.

that W12 badge is more glorious than this air suspension technology
German engineering. That makes me proud.
Hahaha it's great until it's starts falling apart you mean it makes you proud I only see stupid gimmicks.
If you see it that way. In my eyes all meaningful gimmicks.
Le Chat Botté What’s stupid about?
German engineering hasn't realized that sprinter vans rust completely in 5 years. It's happening to new models too. Idiot country.
I'm talking about the Audi A8 here and not a Sprinter. Use your brain and think about it.
Seems like a good car for idiots who cant drive and need assistance. I want 1 though
Yeah tech is cool no matter if it makes something easier.
Besides you can turn a bunch of the things off but otherwise they just make cruising more fun.
HULK likes green charts honestly, drivers nowadays are careless morons
So it's for you?
FGC SniperLyfe Sure bud...
@@-Erne It wasn't meant to be for you.
imagine if you broke one of the shocks . it would be 4x more expensive than a normal shock..
Actually, the raising of the car is controlled by seperate motors.. which are way cheaper and smaller than those shocks...
YOu mean 4x times more expensive THAN THE CAR
Imagine if you drive an a8l you would have 4x more money than a normal guy
Nkllz0 its an expensive car If you drive this you Can pay that
the maintenance cost is... just buy a new car.
Только АУДИ сохраняет свой дизайн стиль и качество за что и я уважаю инженеров АУДИ!! МОЛОДЦЫ! 👌👍
Thing that impressed me the most was how the lights turned off at 5:41
Yea its beautiful
Hard to repair and maintenance cost will be the very very high
People who buy such a premium car usually can afford the maintenance, too.
Nobody will buy this car when used (60miles) Todays engines get broken in every Piece.
Michael Heinrich no thats wrong
@@topg7290 how?
Michael Heinrich my Father drives a 2017 A8 an its still working perfect after many long business trips
But does it cost more than my house?
Because your house cannot park. Think before you ask stupid questions. ^^

80k i think
This car is well over 140k
@George Rule. Yes, yes it does.
I'm a function owner in Media Infotainment Testing, and I'm a sis
😂 ok.. even engineers write yt comments imagine that!
Not much impressed by the A8...now the S8 is very impressive.
or you can just learn how to drive
I think it's for showoff
My wife can't. Will save me a fortune lol
most people can drive but a human can't do everything perfect. this car isn't made for those who can't drive for shit but to help people with their driving and prevent people from getting into accidents etc...
aorelain it‘s 2018, people‘s comfort zones are skintight these days and filled with 150% ego, you‘re asking too much.
When you're driving, you don't just drive for you but also for everyone on the road. You always need to predict what other drivers might do but you can't predict everything at all time and this car can help you to improve your safety.
Cant afford it.
nino don bless
Don't worry in 8 years itll depteciate 80 thousand dollars. Maybe then
In 3 years it will be under $30k
we can only dream
noone who isn't running a bussiness can afford it

I'm a BMW person. I drive 5 series and as much as I thought I'd always want a 7 series, I sat in one and I wasn't impressed. This however is a totally tech fest. I've not enjoyed many Audi's that I've been in, but their design is improving (in my opinion, as I've never really liked them much). This looks like quite a fun car to play with, and it's safety and convenience features look great. Love the subtle animated lights when they turn on and off.
The only shit i care is performance and that's why i prefer BMW's
@@Stolenbmw320d Audi and BMW have similar performance lmao
@@Tom-js3iz similar. You are right . It depends on models . When compared to similar models from different brand . It's always the BMWs who are better in terms of performance

Shall i floor it ?
Hackers can party now...
panos gian god get prepared for the news stories on how these A8s are getting hacked.
91myroc To be honest, have you really ever seen a new car being hacked on the news lately. I don't think you did...
Cars that make every move with a computer can be hacked as a computer its just new technology and havent exposed yet wait and you will see
new form of terrorism
Nick Smith its because they make it look like a normal accident...the driver crashed into a wall...and nobody will ever know that it actually was a hacker who controlled the car with his arrowkeys like a videogame

Mercedes hace this since 2008
How on earth is this Most HI-Tech car? BMW and Mercedes had all this features years before Audi.
BMW introduced Active Suspension in 80's E30 M3
BMW introduced Dynamic All Wheel Steering on the E31 8 series in 90'
BMW introduced 360 camera in 2010/11
BMW introduced Pedestrian detection and related features in 2009 7 Series
BMW introduced Night Vision in 2005 7 Series
BMW introduced Remote Parking Control in 2014/15
BMW introduced Self Parking in 2014
So well that's great tech the A8 uses, right? 🤷🏽♂️
True.
Audi always brag on new features that are already normal in MB or BMW :D
Because Audi has all them features in a single car.
@@tchi9092 You can buy 7 series with all this features
Such a mannerable car! It stands to welcome you then sits when you leave. Impressive!
doesnt allow you to enter hood, insurance co will like it.
A tremendous amount of things to break, a continuous goldmine for Audi
You can say that about anything thing though not just new Audis. iPhone have more components but you won’t decide not to get it because there is more that can go wrong
yea but then computers have more things than this car has so yeah jakes right
Lmao what kind of false information is that ^ I’ll fix a million iPhones before even thinking about diagnosing issues on a car like audi
Bruh, just enjoy your polo
@@jakebottcher5214 a lot more components in this audi than your pissy iPhone with one circuit board
people keep saying "it will cost a fortune to fix when something goes wrong" which is a dumb response because people who can afford to buy a luxury car probably arent worried about money and probably wont even have the car long enough for warranty to run out. And it doesnt really drive itself, it can just assist with basic driving that a computer can process but I wouldnt trust the sensors completely with my life and the parking thing is just handy in the city where parking can be really tight and underground.
You're a sensible personality
Yes but with this technology in it there is higher chance of failure. They might not care about money but who wants to have car that is not reliable?
@@torar_ the nice thing is, what they built in now, will be someday in the future standard for every car. but now its a luxus thing for people who can afford it. But someone has to do a step in this direction and often it is a german car who does it, therefore maybe less reliable, but like i said someone needs to start and implement such systems to become standrd and afordable
Yes if you are buying new. However, when it gets used it will be far more cheaper and affordable, yet the maintenance cost will be through the roof, so potentially a poison pill for an uninformed used car buyer. :)
This was ahead of its time
After 2 years at least 50% of these things are broken and even the smallest sensor replacement will cost 1000$.
Einheit-101 Hahahah what an idiot
People who buy this will not care what happens with it after a few years. They will drive a 2020 A8 by then.
You know a warranty exists right?
Warranty?
hhah thats right. i would buy a toyota instead. cuz german fools cant make cars. this is tecnology used 20 years ago. go and look at toyoto cars in japan. who do you want to fool? german tecnolgy is like 20 years in the past as rest of the world. japan, usa, china and so on use new tec.. this is nothing then a couple sensors here and there which send a command to the computing unit to hit the break for instance or to raise the suspension on the right side of the car. this has nothing to do with high tech. it is new tech for german cars... thats right. hight tech is tesla, toyoto... not audi or vw.
Only good until warranty runs out!!
TJ to be fair, an all new a8 isnt supposed to be for a buyer who holds it over the given years of warranty.
Mustangs should get the active suspension so when u drive into a crowd u won’t feel a thing
Definitely high tech. But i wonder if that suspension will ever last more than 2 years before aching for a full replacement. Rear Wheel steering is a must have, considering the length of the luxury cars these days.
You young mechanics are going to have a bright future
Christopher Acevedo Im 26 and work at a Audi VW dealership so most of us young techs are being prepared for this car
True but it's still going to be a nightmare. You can visit the tech training but how many of these will you see after this and how much will you remember when one arrives?

Jacky Tang do u english bro?
Jacky Tang Your dumb whoever has the money to buy this car has money to maintain it
That’s why you get warranty’s with new cars.
When you can even buy this car, saving money isnt a top prority...
very true, though it can get very very costly.
5:13 whaaaat?! That's mind blowing 😎
