Astronomy that's been totally divorced from astrology is so dry & mechanistic, it's a sacrilege. Probably my worst experience in either K-12 or college was an astronomy class I took at a Christian University. Just awful. I've heard the most materialistic atheists speak with more spiritual potency about the stars & planets.

So why am I strange for doing new moon and full moon meditation? I think this shows that even in religion, people only do it without thinking much about how the tradition came to be and the meaning behind them. I don't mind people having different beliefs but what irks me the most is when people took it for granted yet at the same time belittling other seekers for not believing in what they believe. Ironically, I'm sure most of the seekers know more than the majority who never question because those are the people who truly learn.

Do you use the tropical or sidereal zodiac? Very few people are talking about this in the context of astrological magic...at the time of Agrippa the tropical and sidereal were basically aligned, so there was no need to address this issue in the texts....in Vedic astrology this issue has been dealt with....however many westerners refrain from this 24 day discrepancy - If you were to look up at the night sky - and you observed that the moon was located next to Antares (the heart of the Scorpion) you can clearly see that the moon is transiting through Scorpio...yet in western tropical the moon would be said to be in Sag...even though you can clearly see that it is in Scorpio in the night sky - in sidereal it would be in Scorpio...so sidereal is based on planets location is zodiacal signs...tropical (western) is not....Something to be aware of!

Honest Opinion, perhaps this is too much information for a newbie. Then again I ignore astrological timing because I live for the chaos haha. I'd recommend newbies simply aim for the day of the planet to begin with. Then perhaps observe moon signs. No one's got time for planetary hours lol. I like to think of astrological timing as what a supplement is to a workout, it's not necessary but is extra help. I'm just putting in my two cents for the sake of newbies who may be overwhelmed.
Yeah honestly, having this many things to have to look out for just makes me paranoid about doing magick lol. Especially since I finished an 11 day working on the Solar Eclipse. But then again, the working had nothing to do with planetary energies.

I tend to disagree, I actually believe newbies should tend to as many correspondences as possible to tune to exactly the energies they want to manifest! To me correspondences are like references on a resume. For someone just starting out, more is definitely merrier. And with a planetary hour clock, it’s as simple as opening an app to check what planetary hour it is. Just my $.02 😎
