A lot of the promotional angle that’s lost on many who weren’t around to enjoy it at the time it came out regarding Kid A is the fact that it preceded IR as the first free album. They released it for air on MTV2 who spun the full vinyl record on tv prior to the release of the album. It was an hour of watching a record spin into beautiful oblivion.
Honestly my top 5 Radiohead are all amung my favorites, and I could see why people would put any of them as the number 1. Although the top two are quite solidly in those spots. 1. Ok Computer 2. Hail to the Thief (love the approach they took with this one, just wish they took advantage of it more) 6. The Bends (I can’t say much more than this guy about this album. Solid) 7. Amnesiac (kId A b-SiDeS) 8. Pablo Honey (this album gets a lot of hate, but I see it as just a fun little alt-rock album, nothing more) 9. The King of Limbs (I just never have a reason to put this one on. They went a bit trigger-happy with the experimentation) EDIT: Kid A and OKC have now swapped
Hey guys, looking back at this video in retrospect, this list is terrible. I wasn’t very good at talking about music at this point due to lack of experience, however now I’m a lot more confident and concise at expressing opinions. I may remake this list in the future because it’s changed a LOT 😂
Fun fact on like spinning plates. They recorded a version of I will, and hated it, so they put the recording in reverse. Thom learned the melody in reverse and sang a recording backwards, so when it’s played backwards, it comes out the normal way.
there’s not a problem with his list. he is not trying to give an objective view; just his personal opinion. the special thing about this band is that their songs evoke different emotions in different people. this is his list: not yours
That's the best part of videos like this. Getting to find out people's opinions on albums and tracks. I need to stop until I listen to A Moon Shaped Pool though cause I still don't know where it stands for me as I've not heard it.
It ceases becoming a personal opinion when 90000000 million people rank an album below zero because it’s merely a great pop rock album.. that becomes elitistic snobbery at its finest.

exactly my order, though I think I would switch Ok computer with kid a, and keep IR at 2, even though its my favorite, objectively i would say Ok computer is better.
Mine would be: 1. In Rainbows 2. OK Computer 3. A Moon Shaped Pool 4. Amnesiac 5. Hail To The Thief 6. The Bends 7. The King of Limbs 8. Kid A 9. Pablo Honey Just don’t ask about my placement of Kid A.

Now the main issue I have with this list is that The Bends is so low. The Bends is an amazing Alt-Rock album, the structure of it is very well built, the ideas are solid and fully committed too, and the songs, save maybe “The Bends”, aren’t the most accessible in the world. Just because Amnesiac is more abstract than The Bends doesn’t mean it’s BETTER. Amnesiac sounds so unfinished as an album, and a lot of effort went into The Bends; there’s certainly more emotion stirred into The Bends than in Amnesiac. I more or less agree with the rest of the list; just bear in mind that the more abstract an album is doesn’t necessarily make it better.
Your points are valid. However they don’t apply to or change the stance of The Bends. It is still near the bottom of the list. Your valid points support the notion of PH being higher moreso than The Bends.
@Hobo_Rocket everything in its right place while it sounds amazing and it is very unique, tends to get extremely repetitive especially for a track that lasts 5 minuites. There are much better songs on each of their other albums
@@timmatthews1604 well after 2 years since the comment ive grown to like both idioteque and national anthem however i still feel like the rest if the album is just too weird and obscure sounding much like most of amnesiac and the king of limbs and therefore just not my overall favorite.
