This is a great example of why "live simple live free" is such a great philosophy. Imagine if you were injured, but heavily in debt! Being laid up and unable to work would be a disaster, and so stressful it would be harder to heal. While this doesn't look like fun, you know you can take the time you need to get completely well. I am praying for your complete recovery quickly!

I second the advice to avoid surgery if at all possible. Wait and see. I had a meniscal cyst and it can be painful! It healed over time, took a few months. No surgery. Hope you have a quick recovery from whatever is going on.
There are some people that we’ve never met, but we feel like we’ve known them for years - - you and Elizabeth are two of those people. ☺️ I’m including both of you in my prayers, and may the Lord be glorified in this unexpected event.
Hopefully you’ll heal up quick 😊and sounds like you’re in good hands with Elizabeth. I’m 53 and I’ve had two full knee replacements in 6 months and I’m so thankful that I’m pain-free!!

Aww Bill, sorry to hear this. Hopefully it's something that won't require surgery to fix. You're in my prayers and with Elizabeth at your side, you're in good hands. I have a friend who went to the doctor about her knee pain a few years ago. Her doctor said it was O.L.D. Syndrome. My friend said she'd never heard of that and asked what it was. The doctor said, "you're getting old." We've laughed about that for years! Hope you're pain free soon!
Hope you have a speedy recovery ❤. You might want to rethink dividing yourself between two homes. We did. It sounds good but it spread us too thin. Just a thought 🤷🏻♀️.
So sorry you are in such pain, Bill. I'm thinking what a blessing it is that it didn't happen while you and Barry were doing that major renovation, or while you were in Florida. You are at a time when you can rest, close to home.

Elizabeth - we have no doubt that Bill is in the best hands possible. About 10 years ago, I heard “that pop” as I was coming down the stairs at work. I was the last one there and my cell phone was in my car. I hopped to the car (left leg) and drove myself home. I was too stubborn to go to the doctor - my husband went to the pharmacy and bought a knee brace and a cane. After 3 weeks, I was able to “Walk/hobble” without the cane. I’m glad you are going to see a specialist…stubborn is over-rated. 🙏🙏

That just happened to our oldest son. He heard a pop while hunting and he just had surgery for the miniscus. Prayers you feel better quickly!

I had the same thing happen to me last year. It was the meniscus. I avoided the operation and healed it with 3 weeks of rest. It's like new. Get well soon, Bill.
Bill, hope your leg gets better soon!! Soft tissue injuries, sprain, strain, pulled muscles, ligaments, or tendons are the worse. I’ve had all those, plus numerous broken bones. Broken bones will completely heal, but soft tissue injuries are never the same again!! Winter of 2018, I slipped and fell on black ice. I broke my hip and split my femur, vertically as if chopping wood. Worse pain I ever felt! Anyway I spent eight days in the hospital after having surgery. I now have a titanium rod inside my femur that goes from my hip to my knee. Also have screws in my hip and just above my knee. It took a year to heal. During that time I used a walker, then after several months advanced to a cane. Now I’m walking w/o the cane! It took three years, but the injuries did heal!! My dad injured his leg in 1969. He was in the hospital for nine months. Back then, they didn’t have the technology they do today, or even rehabs! I’m your age. It took longer for me to heal than it would probably have taken a younger person, but I am doing well. I think you’ll also do well! Don’t be discouraged if it takes a long time, you’ll eventually get there!! Oh yea, my dad ended up having three knee replacements on his injured leg. ( over a 30 yr period). I guess the “ older” type of knee replacements don’t last forever. Best wishes to you!!

So sorry to hear about your knee Bill. About 10 years ago I was on the roof cleaning gutters. I was sitting indian style with my legs crossed. I leaned forward and heard a pop. I tried to get to my feet, but I didn't have any stability. I had to wait 4 hrs on the roof until my neighbor got home to help me down. I went to work the next day, but I couldn't really walk. Went to a surgeon and had an MRI. The MRI showed a tear in my MCL. It kinda felt like there was something stuck in my knee while I attempted to walk. Surgery and a couple weeks of rehab and I was well on my way to recovery. Surgery was an out patient procedure. Now that one knee is actually stronger than the other due to college football injuries a long time ago. The doctor did also scrap a bunch of scar tissue in that knee too. I'm praying all is well. Hopefully you will be back on your feet soon.

I also had a similar problem with my knee-the muscles around the knee. Miraculously, I took a tincture of Teasel. My knee is back to normal after about 3 weeks. God bless!
We watched the cold front move in this morning around 10:45 and temperatures went from 72 degrees to 56 in about 20 minutes.
Weather man saying we will get down in the low 30 tonight.

God bless you. I just had my second knee replacement on Dec 7. Everything is going remarkably well. Don’t be afraid of a knee replacement if they suggest if. Both of mine are great. Prayers for you and continued prayers for Elizabeth.

Ouch! I'm definently suffering from AGE. You made my 71 yo hubby laugh. Pretty sure my knees are full of arthritis as is my back, elbows, wrists etc. I remodeled 3 houses on my own in the 90s and worked in my 50s as a hospice nurse so I've damaged almost everything. Lol. Sending prayers your way.
I’ve had same thing twice. Both times torn miniscus. Had surgery both times. Good luck and may the Lord heal your leg in record time. Hope you find your perfect home away from home in Florida. !

so sorry to hear this. Hopefully you get in to the orthopedic Dr. soon. I have an appointment with an orthopedic Dr. in a couple weeks I tore ligaments in my left pinky and hand. I can't even imagine how much your leg hurts. I will definitely be praying for you.

I can relate to the trying to stand up from sitting with my own knee pain and other aches and pains in my legs, hips, back and feet, that I am believing Jesus will turn things around, renew my youth and fully restore you, Elizabeth and me. Thank you Lord that no weapon of infirmity forged against Bill will prosper and that you are perfecting all that concerns him. You have seen Bill's tears and heard his cries and you will heal him! I had to wear one of those boots for a Dancer's Fracture in August. I learned 2 things, don't get up off sofa without checking to see if your foot is asleep and Protect all surfaces from all the Velcro on the boot. My bedding will never be the same. Good luck and a speedy recovery...

sounds like a Baker cyst and ACL tear. The cyst rupture is beyond for pain. Sending healing prayers for a speedy recovery.

I had the same thing. Hurt so bad I could barely breathe. After years of knee problems, I was scheduled for knee replacement surgery. The most painful thing I’ve ever done. Four months later they wanted to do the other one and I didn’t want to. The first one was still so painful. Might as well get the pain all over at once, so I went for it. 4 years later, right knee won’t get me up a step without pain, so I do one step at a time. Surgeon said it would be a year before I could sleep through the night, but four years later I still can’t. I have poor balance, can’t walk all the way through a grocery store, can’t get up off the floor without scooting to the staircase, lifting up three steps and then pulling myself upright on the bannister, can’t kneel, can’t squat. I don’t regret it because I was down to bone on bone after 7 previous knee surgeries, but the limitations are really frustrating. Best wishes for your recovery.

Good to hear you Bill. I feel so bad for you. Knee pain is so debilitating, and for an active person like you? Very frustrating as well. I heard Elizabeth at the end there.... Those motherly instincts have kicked in👍😊. I'd be enjoying all that extra attention. Don't know if you use youversion Bible but it's so relaxing to just sit and listen to the Word. Yesterday I went through the whole book of John. I can remember it better that way. Just a thought. It might make the time go by faster for you👍. May the Lord refresh you and heal you and give you and the doctors wisdom for the next move.

Hope you get well soon. My 26 year old son has similar only he's a sports coach/ teacher in schools, he was in training when it first happened. He's had an mri after it did it a second time. They told him ruptured ACL torn miscous and something else sorry can't remember other thing. Hope you recover soon. Xx
