    In this video BCBA Heather Nunziato discusses contingency contracting also known as behavioral contracts. Heather defines what contracts are and discusses how they've been applied as referenced in several journal articles. She also discusses the three components that make up a contingency contract. This topic is covered in section E-04 of the fourth edition task list.

    I loved this video, Heather! In the classroom I work in, we have several contingency/behavior contracts in place, and a lot of the rewards are delayed, like you mentioned. A few weeks ago, we started a basketball team for students throughout the school who engage in challenging behaviors. The delayed reward is being able to participate in practice, which takes place during the last 45 minutes of the day. Each student met created their own contingency contract: one student is only allowed to practice if he does not get a behavior referral that day. Another student can practice, if and only if, his point sheet is filled out for the entirety of the day, and other students must attend all of their classes in order to participate in practice. I like how you laid this video out, and touched on each section of the contract, as well as how each contract is individualized.
