- Variation on a theme by Robert Schumann, Op. 20
It was a part of my recital theme, "Passionate Friendship: Clara Schumann, Johannes Brahms and Robert Schumann"
This variation links all these three composers. The theme was from Robert Schumann's Bunte Bläter, Op. 99. Clara composed this piece for Robert's 43rd Birthday. Later, Clara's performance of this piece inspired Brahms to compose Theme and Variations Op.9, which was based on Robert's theme.
The best rendition of this work I've heard so far! I'll look forward to your next upload :) - from Korea
Thank you so much for you kind words!
An inspired piece, rendered beautifully!
Thank you for listening!
Clara will love you forever! I certainly hear her spirit through you. Thank you so much, your playing has touched me deeply 💕 A shame that Clara was so oppressed by her husband.
Thank you so much for listening to my playing and kind comments!
If beauty will save the world, then you are certainly doing your part!
Thank you so much for your kind words. It is truly an honor to receive such praise. I appreciate your support and encouragement.
A lovely video of a performance which is sophisticated and refined. I think, Miss Trepanier, that you have an especially good rapport with either the composer or the piece or both; indeed your vision never seems to waver or wane from the first to the last note.
I am very thankful for all your kind comments, Mr. Smith!
Great performance! Thank you for sharing :)
