    I received Oticon aids in 2015, but they don't help in restaurants or other noisy places. In 2016 I found Bose Hearphones which is an amplifier and works perfectly, but they no longer make them and I'm terrified what I'll do when they give out. I'm hoping hearing aids have improved. I have moderate hearing loss.

    When I was a little boy my parents used to send me to Bible School and the teacher had a deaf daughter he taught me a little bit of sign along with this song so I can talk with her. My family moved after a while and I forgot pretty much all my sign language now I'm going deaf and relearning. I figured what better way of getting a refresher course and start my re-education is to look up this song again.

    I love hearing amplifiers because I have PTSD and anxiety. For me being able to hear someone coming sooner is absolutely necessary so I can prepare myself or move if possible. Especially if they’ll be behind me.

    I tried Reisen amplifier in doctors office they let me use to help with my hearing loss. I was suprised how much i could hear. I have a hearing aids I don't wear as my hearing loss did not improve using them. I'm ordering "Reisen Loud Ear" tomorrow. I did my search before I decided. Reisen is the most popular one in Doctor's office.

    Very informative and helpful! Being fitted with the right hearing aid can be very powerful in helping a person hear all the little things they have been missing. Thank you for all the hard work on your videos and all the research going into making them. Well done!

    I had an appointment today, and had a hard time hearing the visiting doctor. She asked me if I wanted to try using her SuperEar amplifier devise, so I did. What a big difference it made! It worked so good. I could hear her, so much better, and could hear myself better, and I loved it! I am in the process of looking for one now. I have hearing loss, and have an order for hearing aids, but they are expensive, so this will definitely help me for now. So glad I got to try it. What a big difference it made. It was the, SuperEar Model Se5000 personal Sound Amplifier, and I chose to wear it, with the headphones she brought.

    Hi Dr. I have a very mild hearing loss. But severe tinnitus. What would work best? Hearing aid or amplifier?

    • @ProFitHearing
      @ProFitHearing  3 года назад +3

      A hearing aid can treat hearing loss and may help make tinnitus less bothersome, however consult with a local audiologist to determine what will be most appropriate for your specific needs. Many hearing aids today include an option for a tinnitus masker. Tinnitus apps may also be helpful. Here's a link to a tinnitus playlist. ruclips.net/p/PLz1ItE-u7p792c_Wjd7Ot5W2_zSdqZChN

      @@ProFitHearing Hi, which types of hearing aids are better/best?

    • @FadeRunner13
      @FadeRunner13 2 года назад +2

      @@martinmhumbati3722 The best hearing aid is the one your audiologist recommends for you. There are dozens of factors why an hearing care provider may recommend a specific style, manufacturer, model, circuit, microphone configuration, feature portfolio, and specifications... a good provider will also take into consideration your personal hearing needs, cosmetic concerns, ear anatomy, financial concerns, practicality, occupational concerns, etc. I can't tell you how may patients think they know what they want, but have no idea why they want it. Your hearing professional knows best.

    I just purchased a Chisana hearing amplifier aid. It's true about the highs being too high, and lows not enough. I personally have mild to severe hearing loss so OTC hearing aids might not be a good fit for me.

    My neckband amplifier and remote Bluetooth microphone is perfect. I can hear people who speak quietly or are several feet away. The remote mike by the TV speaker allows me to hear and understand clearly and no longer need subtitles on streaming movies.

    Based on your explanation of what a hearing aid does, I might need one myself! I can't understand people I'm talking with when there are others in the room talking aswell. It all seems to merge together which makes me have to get closer to the person talking to me while having to listen very closely to try and pickup what is being said.

    Your videos are so full of important information. I wonder how many people have damaged their hearing further by using one of these amplifiers rather than be fitted with a true hearing aid. Thanks for the education!

    I’m currently trying Apple AirPods Pro, using Conversational boost. Mixed results so far. But a question, is Eargo 5 consider a very expensive amplifier or a real hearing aid?

    • @ProFitHearing
      @ProFitHearing  2 года назад

      According to their website, the Eargo 5 is a hearing aid. The Eargo 6 is also now available. Thanks for watching!

    • @FadeRunner13
      @FadeRunner13 2 года назад

      EarGO in my professional opinion is not really worth the price you are being charged, because there is no objective & scientific measurements being performed to gauge the electroacoustical performance of the hearing aid and making sure the prescriptive targets are being met at the eardrum (which is what your paying for afterall). You can likely find a hearing care provider near you, who can professionally fit a relatively comparable cost *real* hearing aid and run such tests (REM, Speech Mapping, QuickSIN, soundfield word recognition, etc.) and substantially optimize your auditory outcome. Not to mention, you have someone in person to perform yearly tests and updates to the aids along with maintaining and troubleshooting these little computers when they get dirty and full of earwax, or when parts fail.

      Hearing aids are specifically designed to treat people with hearing loss. Hearing amplifiers are not intended to treat hearing loss. They wouldn't be used together. Thanks for watching.
