- This is my first time playing Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. I've just recently completed Uncharted 1, 2 and 3, and I have to know how the story of Nate's crazy life concludes! Some of these comments are getting borderline rude.
All you had to say was they started using MOCAP for this game.
I know they are chronically older in this game, my eye sees them now looking much rounder and softer as a result of the MOCAP and advanced graphics, to my eye, it’s made them look younger than the age they were portrayed as in previous games.
That’s my opinion and experience - which will also be completely different to yours as I’ve just played all 4 games in row. I’m allowed to have a different opinion to yours.
Please don’t comment like I’m a moron - I’m happy to hear your thoughts, opinions and experiences on the games, but that doesn’t mean mine is incorrect because it’s different to yours.
Everyone felt the same way you did when they played. They just weren’t lucky enough to have a RUclips channel full of back seat drivers watching at the time. 😉

They've always done mocap in the Uncharted games.
It's the facial-mocap that is new to this game (in all previous ND games, including TLOU 1, the face animations were hand animated).
I don't get it. To me, Elena looks exactly like the previous games, with only a graphical improvement. Nate changed a lot more comparing side to side

The characters look more like the actors, that's why "it looks weird" to you, they're more realistic. The first 3 games' character models were cartoony in style.
Also playing all 4 games back to back, it can be so jarring because the graphics look so lifelike, when I first played, I was like, yo, Nate really looks like Nolan North now lol

I was never really a fan of that, I had the same problem with the last of us part 1, I don’t play games hoping to see the actors in them, but the characters i know. I think one of the benefits of games is that the character doesn’t have to look like the actor, they can be more individual, to me it’s much more immersive when I can’t easily see the actor in the character.
I’ve watched many let’s plays of these games and no one has ever complained about the updated character models😂 I don’t understand
Nat. Don’t forget there were years between releases of this game. The change was not as noticeable if you hadn’t seen them in years. Also, facial animations had grown in leaps and bounds. Their faces before were mostly static. It’s a shock for a sec but you’ll get over it

I think this must be the best Uncharted episode yet. Just from your facial expressions alone, I can tell you are loving this game. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said its not fair to compare this game to the other 3 as it is so far ahead. This game for me just builds and builds, better graphics better story better voice acting better sound better puzzles just better everything and I am now so excited each time I see you have released another episode.
A helpful tip that helped me finish the game on crushing was to first place the guns reticle in line with the enemy, then shoot. I noticed you shoot first then line the reticle up. By then 10 bullets have missed. Hope that helps. Enjoy the journey Nat❤❤

Nothings wrong with her face😂 its just this game out lot of years after 3rd one also this one is in ps4 release naughty dog had lot of space to grow in case of their game engine ..it became more realistic the graphics and all.also this story takes place years after 3rd one so that difference is in the characters.
The PS4 allowed Naughty Dog to really go all out on Uncharted 4, so yes the whole game does look different than Uncharted 1-3. Characters and environments all got an overhaul to be more realistic, down to the pores. Which if you ask me, U4 still looks incredible and even better than a lot of modern games today. And because this did release after The Last of Us, they incorporated lots of elements from that game, which I think made Uncharted 4 even more story focused and cinematic. Can only imagine what an Uncharted 5 would be like on PS5.
If Nate and Elena had gotten arrested in the first Uncharted game for not having permits to search for Francis Drake's grave in the sea, then Nate might've run into his brother who was still alive in the prison. Since they would've ended up in "Panamanian jail" where they were when his brother was shot when they tried to escape.
Yet but is not like Panama only has one jail so it would depend where specifically Sams jail was in Panamá.
The upgrade in graphics and The characters have also aged it's not just a week has passed from uncharted 3 the timeline is years on from Arabia.
Fun Fact: Nadine's voice actress is Laura Bailey. You'll know her as MJ in the Spider-Man game which is her normal voice. I believe she is going for a South African accent here. As far as video game voice acting, she most known for playing Abby, a main character in The Last of Us 2, which you're not going to play, which is fine. She did have a small role in The Last of Us, she was the voice actor for the nurse or assistant who was going to help with the surgery on Ellie.

The prison Nate was in was actually referenced in the first game, though in this case the writers simply used a line from one to create a backstory plot in 4. So it still works, but it’s like a past thing referencing a future thing that was written to make the past thing work. Sort of wibbly wobbly time line retconing going on here, but it works nicely:

I think this is the best the characters have looked, especially Elena, that’s going to happen with way better hardware & when games take 3 or 4 years there’s always gonna be slight differences but faces in uncharted 4 look great to me.
This is a great example of what photo realism realism brings to the game. This is what Emily Rose (Elena) and Nolan North (Nate) looked like at the time almost exactly.

Just in case you didn't know, Crash Bandicoot was the first series Naughty Dog started to make for Sony. It was great to see them put it in this game.
Yeh, it was a giggle to see them include it - I’m still always so shocked at the direction the studio went from one genre to another!
The way I see is the Naughty Dog games became more mature as gamers matured with them. They started out with kid games and silly humour and then progressed to more adult things like The Last of Us parts one and two… I hope one day they do some return to their classic care free games, but Crash Bandicoot I believe now belongs to Microsoft, so they’d need a new franchise.

The marking is to keep track of all your enemies when you are in stealth mode. 😊
Handy for when you want to plan your route and want to improve your stealth etc.
So it doesn’t do anything except put a white arrow above them. (You can mark more than 1 enemy btw cause it would really be pointless otherwise 😂)

That TV game thing made me laugh because Nolan North and Troy Baker used to do a livestream together a few years back. Anyways Nolan admitted he doesn’t really play video games so it’s funny that he voice acts in them.

@Nat, yeah they had their own RUclips channel and everything, played through the last of us as well together along with some of the other actors, like Ashley Johnson (Ellie) and the one who played Sarah whose name escapes me as well as many others.
Unfortunately at some point it would appear they had a falling out over the channel or some other outside reasons, because they no longer do the channel together. Which I think is partially because they had different ideas of where they wanted the channel to do vs just doing play throughs of the games they acted in. That and Troy was at times a bit overly critical of Nathan’s playing which is funny because at times he actually seemed better than Troy as Troy was a bit over confident many times in the videos and wasn’t as good as he thought he was.
In any case it was fun while it lasted. I think Nathan and others he brought on after Troy left still have a channel, but I can’t recall its new name. Anyway if you want to watch Troy and Nathan play the naughty dog games look up “definitive play throughs with Troy Baker and Nolan North”
Uncharted 4 came out 3 years after The Last of Us, but yes Naughty Dog do have a vibe to their games, so there will be similar aesthetics
The reason enemies can be marked is because when you do mark them, the mark remains visible even if you can see the enemy itself. that way you can mark as many as you can see from a distance when stealthing before entering the playing field.

I believe he is. On the area where her legs meet her back, actually that whole area. That and above it.
I dunno where you are getting this totally different look about the characters from. This is upgraded on the other engine so yes there will be slight changes, but you compare the models for all the faces in each game, and they are very similar.
I love the sound effects here, especially the explosions and gunfiring, they have so much punch and oomph!
I agree about not comparing to the other three games however. This is a more modern game that can do things and go places the others couldn't. 2 may still be just about my favourite, but its hard to compare that to this masterpiece.
Marking enemies helps keep track of where they all are. This tends to be more useful later in places where you can more easily see the majority of them. Here, people are around corners a lot and are actively searching for you.

Sam Drake is one of my favorite additions to the Uncharted franchise but at the same time it would have been cool if he was around earlier in the franchise, would have been interesting if he was there to help in the events of Uncharted 2 and especially Uncharted 3
Naughty Dog was the developer for Crash Bandicoot back in the day, so they got really meta with this part. I believe shortly after this game came out that either a new Crash game or a remaster of the game was announced. So, this was like a preview. And don't worry about not beating the high score. It is impossible to do it at this point.
During the prison escape you can literally not shoot anyone. You could just take cover or run past and let the NPCs do all the work. It just might take a little longer waiting for them to kill the guards than if you took part in the gunfight.
That Malaysia permit lie was like a gut punch for me the first time I played.

It's just that you mentioned it so many times that I thought it would be funny to make a joke about not being sure that the character models look different to how they looked in previous games. I make jokes all the time. Obviously not all of them are hits. ✌🏻
@@Rob_Infinity3 It's hard to read tone in text, and given a majority of the comments on this video and the last have been kind of having a go at me, I sadly didn't read the joke.
You mentioned that you were worried about the music in this getting you a strike. I've been keeping an eye on the poll on which game franchise you're going to play next. Right now, it looks like the Batman Arkham games. I love those games, but I have heard that in the past some let's players have had trouble with the music in those games getting them a copyright claim. The music is a big part the atmosphere for those games, and shutting off the music could get you some people upset in the comments. You may have to take off the monetization of those games to avoid issues.
I don't want to put you off playing those games, but I also don't want you to get so frustrated with the process that you give up on them too. So, this is just kind of a heads up. Of course, maybe they've backed off on those claims since then, so you might have any issues at all, and I've freaked you out for no reason. If that's the case I'm sorry.

I really enjoy your playthroughs, I saw your community comment before even watching this episode. As you said, you are definitely allowed to have your opinion and no one should be rude to you. I wasn't sure what to think of Elena's face in this game at first either. But after watching multiple playthroughs of this game, I'm used to it now. People need to put themselves in other people shoes sometimes and they seem to forget how they felt their first time seeing something, because they are used to it now.
The only reason I could see people being upset upset because maybe they thought the focus was more on the face than Nate and Elena's scene (not saying it was, but I'm just looking at how or why someone could get triggered). However that doesn't excuse any rude behavior on any commenter's behalves. This happens to be a hugely favorite scene to many Uncharted fans because we see a completely different side to them, and them being cute together. This is your first time seeing them like this, so you being a little upset at the faces is totally understandable. Putting yourself on youtube isn't easy and people need to understand that. You are valid to feel the way you feel. I would rather hear your real and genuine reaction than for you to be fake.

You keep commenting on how the characters look. It's called nex-gen graphics. They look more realistic now compared to the older games (very cartoony), plus they all aged a bit from the previous games.
At 6 minutes in I call it complaining 😂 I don’t understand why she can’t get past the facial graphics.
