this time what happened intel was working on meteor lake architechture so it was not going aboe 5 ghz so they decided to launch for laptop only . becuase meteor lake is going to give you longerr battery life and a decent gpu uplift about 1650 desktop card. therefore they are Ultra they save battery and they are intended to use for laptop. and for desktop side you will have raptor lake refresh with dlvr support which will increase multithreading perf for the same powerconsum,ption about 20 percent
so ultra is similar to phoenix point apus of amd mobile lineup

ultra series is based on meteor lake architecture and is mostly going to target laptop segment because of high battery saving features and rest will be raptor lake refresh (everything would be same)with 20% more multi threading performance. Nothing that confusing than amd naming sceme
Hope so, however it's not clear whether it will be for meteor lake laptop only or desktop also.... I'm okay with them changing laptop names... They are already terrible 😂😂
