Bro none of you noticed Ri Chong Song (PRK North Korean lifter) was wearing red asics rather than the North Korean blue asics, they finally have another pair of shoes!
Karlos father is Lebanese, his mother is Bulgarian. He was born in Paris but around age 7 he moved to Bulgaria with his mom and brothers where he grew up after his parents split.Karlos is not a Bulgarian name at all :).
Not to be a stickler but “Irelands greatest athelte” and Irish decathlon record holder is my friend Carlos O’Connell….. we can continue to talk about weightlifting now 😂
That deadlift was impressive, there's no doubt. But sumo and standard deadlift should be kept as separate categories. The same person can lift more in sumo than standard. Go try it. Lower range of motion.
Most impressive thing about Olivia Reeves performance for me is the fact that she set 7 Junior World Records during that competition. Can‘t imagine what it takes mentally to stay focused when you just crushed a WR and are about to do it again.
The inflation in weights in the news show is insane, when you lads first started this series a 400+kg deadlift would be a title worthy lift, you have 5 in this show alone.
Reeves squatted 210, beltless, sleeveless last year at 19 She's was always in contention for an Olympic spot this cycle, but recently she really exploded and surpassed Kate Viberts numbers. She's also been part of Olympic training centers camps since 13. So not out of no where, but this last 5% in her lifts has been pretty shocking. Also question with the wide squat grips, is part of it also to manage the whip on these 300+ kg squats?
@@o-neil Could be, but I don't know how you build back trust that it's going to hold in that stretched position so quickly. Olympic level athletes are built different!
Jesus Christ. Was it his left achilles? I’m 6 months after an achilles rupture non-surgical and I’m still building up to a one leg calf raise, I can’t even imagine getting into a world record jerk stance with the knackered Achilles as the back foot 😂
Karlos Nasar isn't a typical bulgarian name, no. But he's bulgarian born to a Bulgarian mother and (I think) a Lebanese dad. Maybe that explains the unusual name 🤔
I think the thing people mean with sumo not being impressive isn't like a "oh I could do that", I think it's something closer too it just not seeming like its a big deal because the weight barely moved. You could show that 505kg deadlift to a non lifter and they'll just be confused, then if you show it to a seasoned lifter (unless they're a powerlifter that pulls sumo) they're just going to know that sumo pulls are easier and for some people by a huge margin so they're more inclined to be less impressed because they're familiar with the nuance. Yes 505kg is a staggering amount of weight that I probably couldn't even support if you put it on my back but sumo really just looks silly and realistically doesn't reeaallyy transfer into making you a more useful/well rounded human. Sure, some people just want medals and that's chill, go workout how to win deadlifting 15000kg by locking out with just bar bend alone idc, just don't expect many people to care ya know.
Snaped Achilles playing triple jump game, then snapped hamstring tearing ligaments & tendons ankle even more painful same leg as fell sliding hit wall pain everyday 6mths until better.
That kid at the end reminded me of Kelly Starrett's thing about 'you ever seen a unicorn? Likely no, but you'll know it when you see it.' Yeah, there he is @36:36.
Been waiting for the Oldfield clip to pop up on the news show ... so good. Although I believe it was dunking a shot (not a med ball). At least there is footage of that somewhere.
Great job by Karlos, absolute machine! Amazing snatch by Lopez! He looks massive, probably can win some bodybuilding comp without any specific training... Olivia Reeves very strong!
Do you think any of your programs are ideal for an athlete (parkour in this case) to do in summer/ in season to maintain strength and power but without incurring fatigue for actual parkour practice?
My problem with all these 505 attempts is not that they're not impressive. They clearly are or like you said we'd see more of them. My issue is the choice of 505, as it clearly begs for comparison to the strongman record which is just a completely different lift. If we see 500kg attempted I'm all for it because that's a more objective milestone.
Bro none of you noticed Ri Chong Song (PRK North Korean lifter) was wearing red asics rather than the North Korean blue asics, they finally have another pair of shoes!
There's one frame i think from WH that showed 4 pairs of blue asics at once.

Watching live I honestly thought the checks were for thousands of dollars...like $250,000/$500,000/1 million.
how much money did first place get?
$250 wtf 😂
Holy fuck that $250 3rd place for Pizza. So you want to be a weightlifter XD. Its UAE, that jumbo check DEFINITELY cost more then $250 to make XD.
I think y’all are wrong about the check costing more than $250 because it probably involved slave labor
Yeah fr Carlos is an spanish name 😂
The hurdler was a woman lol... but still impressive from Oldfield...
Karlos' can't be further from a traditional bulgarian name.
