My only complaint not enough videos! My proficiency in PQ has increased exponentially with every video of yours that I watch. Thank you!

Great! Thank you for this video! It made the each concept much more clear! Microsoft should hire you to write the PowerQuery M documentation :)

    Fuzzy match will also work

The nested contexts explanation could have been more terse IMHO, more emphasis on the buffering was expected.
I do applaud your in-depth knowledge of Power Query. Very good!

Very informative :). Is there any way to reference just a certain step within a separate query? Further explanations of other ways ‘temporary functions’ within a single steps code would be much appreciated. I know ‘keep duplicates’ button throws out some kinda complicated code that uses a temporary function inside it.

      Thanks!
You can reference other queries in the current query, but there is no way of referencing a single step from another query. This is due to the environment in which your query works. You can reference all the steps from the current query, but not the steps from other queries.

@@ExceedLearning ah very nice, so it’s not just that idk how to do it, it’s that it can’t be done. Nice to know, thank you 👌

Top mesmo... Estava com um problema, buscando substituir a função Table.NestedJoin e, além de substituir, ganhei performance com Table.Buffer. Parabéns!

Great and informative video. But for a novice like me, I wish you would have made the code larger or clearer. Also, if you could attach the tables, it would be helpful for us beginners. I couldn't fine the table in the Contoso tables.

Amazing video. Is it possible to use 2 outer variables? I need to merge based on Article nr. and contract nr. (în your case you use single variable, the product) thank you

    Thank you for explaining
I am trying to reduce Power Query time to load multiple times the same CSV file (to make individual variations). With no luck
Is it possible? Load once and then copy results to another tables?

    Hello Krešimir,
I really like most of your content but this specific video and the article as well are HUGE both in terms of topics as well as in terms of didactic quality. I have been watching this multiple times (since I can't quite record every bit each time I need).
Now I am writing you because I had never noticed that at timebar 5'09" you seem to be using a keyboard shortcut to do M auto-formatting for the step that you are editing.
Could you PLEASE let me know what on earth is this keyboard shortcut ???

    • @ExceedLearning
      @ExceedLearning  2 года назад +1

Hi, thank you for your comment! I have to disappoint you with the answer to your question. :( There is no keyboard shortcut for the auto-formatting M code. It was simply a postproduction edit of the video in which we cut most of the part where I was formatting the code manually.

Hey Sensei...thanks for a great video. It actually solved a problem that I have grappling with and I have now understood a simpler way of using the equivalent of vlookup in PQ.
I was wondering if the nested function that you have used as a step here be written as a separate function altogether - I tried to do that, but the new column returns just a text giving the outer function name. And since the Outer or Inner does not specify the type of the parameter, its not choosing the tables at all if I run that function thru' "invoke".
Quite possibly I am writing the script wrong - would mind sharing the script the way it would have to be if it were to be written as a stand-alone function not as a step within another query?
