I truly appreciate this music. It is mint so different to our Vape Breton style. My 8 years in northern Quebec taught me I could not step dance, I had to do what I call is a shuffle, easily done. When I retire I plan to spend time listening to great music like yours. Great job.
I played with the guys of La bottine souriante in the 80's and i can say you're a very good fiddler! I love the Metis style. Traditonal canadian music united us, acadian, quebecois, english, native, metis ...
Hi Brendan 👊😎 I'm a Dj in Ebb and Flow Manitoba, called 101.3 FM Da Flo Radio, our internet connection is not is out at the moment but I am going to play your fiddle, your awesome buddy 👊😎
That was the best fiddling I've ever heard or seen. 😊 it's really nice to see a young person playing 😊 need to keep playing. ..hope to see you again😊 absolutely wonderful ❤ I love it!
the music flows from this young fellow, Last names are familiar from the inter lake Swan River area , I Played THE video twice I liked it better THE second time......I think I'll play it a time or two more.......Just wondering if maybe Patty Kusturok or J,J Guy might have taught Brendan...Great job
Those transitions are so 🔥. Love fiddle...my moshom was a fiddler and my sister played bass. I'm just a silly guitarist. Pardon my swearing...but fuck yeah thats awesome
Damn you make me proud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously ; You Kids make me so proud. Dang you need your own CD; your that good!! Loved the beat of drums, to the bass guitar; to the lead violinist!!!! Aka Fiddle!!!! loved it ALL!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN you made me proud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi samara, thanks for the great words, I have 6 CDs out, I just finished performing at the Canadian grand masters fiddling championship as a performer, last night, in Ottawa! Talent is talent regardless of which technique you use, I'm glad most people can realize it and choose to go out of their way and out a dislike just because I don't play the fiddle the way they would like me to! I'm not here to please everyone but to put a dislike, you clearly have your own problems in life that you need to deal with!

Not only is right hand moving further up the bow, his left hand goes back & forth with the "pancake"....I say whatever works.....a lot of people would vey much disagree with that - but oh well ---
I agree with you, I play a fiddle, not a violin so whatever works but in this video, as it's just a garage session I was being way more "informal" with my technique
Ojibwe Guy I'm watching this again & I'm amazed at this kid. I'm a fiddler too, not a violin player! LOL But I started late in life.....in my 50s. I don't have the dexterity but it doesn't stop me from tryin'. I listen to a hell of a lot of music & I think (as an American) my favorite Canadian music is Metis' (because of the percussiveness), but I like Fr. Canadian & Cape Breton. But really, the indigenous stuff really floats my boat. I'm determined to learn it!

Happens to the best of us :-)

it's the way we play! he doesn't normally play so high up the bow but it's his way of being "lax"

How long did it take you to learn how to fiddle like that
