Nope, they had some development and backstories with compelling ways to make them interesting such as Ren and Nora's backstories were shown and they had to move on in a right way Jaune doesn't need a backstory as we as the audience know what his family thought of him through his dialogue with Pyrrha on the rooftop and we watch his development throughout RWBY.

That scene had me crying during the episode. But the most heart breaking moment was the moment when the woman (Pyrrha's Mom I assume) first spoke, and you could see how for just a split second Jaune thought Pyrrha was somehow there alive. Everyone who lost someone close to them knows moments like that, when you could swear you've seen them in a croud or out of the corner of your eye only to be hit with the realisation that theu are truly gone forever over and over again.
That has been me the past month. My father died I'm only 14 and he's gone and never coming back I still want it to be some cruel joke but the more I think the more I disappear. It's tempting to kill my self now. but if I did all that would do is give my mom more sorrow so I chose to keep moving forward till I can't. What's more sad is over the past month I'm beginning to forget what he looked like. I miss him so much.
One of the most insane feels punches since Vol 3 itself... I’m glad Jaune is finally getting closure though, dude has more than earned a break for once. Kinda ruins Ozpin’s one argument that she made her choice, since even the characters know that, to Pyrrha, the minute she learned of the Maidens and Cinder, there was no choice to her.
I am very happy cause I believe that now jaune can move on and become who he was supposed to be. And yes it does make you question ozpin, which is done almost all the time this volume and I'm interested to see how it goes
Y'know, after all of this is over, everyone pretty much has someone to go with after all of their fight is over. But Jaune, Jaune's gonna have to go alone by himself.
The loss of Pyrrha has turned into a Beautiful Pain. The Pedestal that she was put on in life became a legend in death. Yet Jaune and those that knew her best never saw the champion or the hero, they felt only the loss. The statue though brings it full circle that she was both and that the best thing they can do for her and themselves is carry on that legacy.

Man..Ozpin is one of the main reasons everything is fucking up and people are suffering. He literally gave Pyrrha no choice in the matter and in the end she ended up sacrificing herself to try and stop Cinder.
This is how it should have been done... none of that bs batman exit from that "mom" or "ghost." Or whatever. An emotional swelling as Janue remembers all of the things hes been through. The things theyve done to Janue annoys me to all hell. Not only do they keep rubber banding him that entire Cinder "fight" made him appear weaker than he is and made him and Cinder dumb for plot.
