15 years ago I heard an arrangement of O Come, O Come Emmanuel that literally transported me to the hillside with the shepherds when the Angel's announced the birth of Jesus. Now this is the perfect hymn for me evermore.
I have Intercessory prayer, I think. Prayed rosaries for two lukewarm people, then months later they became more fervent. I was astonished to say the least.
@@Roman-Labrador Living chastely…maybe? It’s also my charism, and it doesn’t work on people whose hearts aren’t ready to open up. I have a sense in me that tells me a certain person needs my prayers, I do it, and get results. It feels like a longing. When I pray for someone, I think about them like St. John the Apostle and myself as Jesus on the cross. You might not have Intercessory Prayer. You could have other charisms. It’s like they said at the workshop I was at. If you go to a hospital testing if you have healing and everyone you prayed for gets worse, then you probably don’t have healing.
@@KittyM- It has to be according to His will, yes. Getting people closer to Him will always be His will. God will listen to you and pour grace upon the people you pray for. The problem is, as Father Columba says, people have their umbrellas up. They need to have an open heart. Intercessory Prayer is different in that you are in a sense told who to pray for and then God will tell you when you are finished until someone else pops up in your life that you need to pray for. I think you also get faster results too. Also with charisms, you have to enjoy doing it. It can’t be a chore for you. When I pray for someone, I think about my love for them which makes The Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet exciting. Side note: it is also believed that St. Therese of Lisieux had Intercessory Prayer when she prayed for the man who was going to be executed.
Fathers, you two rock. You two do a great job in talking about natural gifts. I consider your explanation as spiritual career coaches. Do what your god at. Everybody has a path. Again, well done.

Hi friars i experience the connectedness with music especially when Fr. Gabriel sings. You can see his eyes shine like the stars and his face light up. I remember watching him sing praise and worship songs during lockdown 2020 in Bradford, and it brought tears to my eyes. I have the gift of complaining.🤣 I'm sure it's not what St. Therese meant by her little way.🤣 God bless.🙏🙏
So helpful! Teach on! But what it feels like is your sharing of the fruit God has given each of you from your time spent with Him. Then sharing with us. Thank you, Father Brothers.
I absolutely enjoy listening to both of you together. Perhaps one day Fr Columba will grace us with his music. God bless you both! Much love and respect. ❤❤❤
1 John 5 kJV 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
This is very interesting and it manifests in many ways. I minister to people as they are passing away. I recently was with someone and at the end the nurses and doctor were amazed at how I brought peace to the dying as they crossed over. They said I had a gift. I had never thought about it that way. Would that be a Charism?
Prophecy is a tricky one. You can’t experiment with it out in the world because God will tell you something when He wants to. For me, prophecy is good to have, but as St. Paul says, it doesn’t work with unbelievers. When I speak prophecy to those of the faith, they are intrigued and are astonished by what has been revealed to me. If I go out to the secular world I’m probably going to have stuff thrown at me.
Billy Graham had a charism for calling souls to Jesus. Every time he spoke, the Holy Spirit would bring hundreds of people to the front of the auditorium where they would ask Jesus to come into their hearts and lives. If each conversion is a miracle, then he was the instrument for mass miracles on a regular basis. That's what a priest does in the eucharist, right?
So nice to see father Columba this side of the Atlantic. We’re so glad you’re here, Father.❤

Me too, I thought everyone has intercessory prayer? After all, doesn't He always give it unless it's really, really bad for you/them?

Musically, I often find that JS Bach's instrumental music gives my prayers wings. Praise be that composers' writing can carry a charism!

Thank you for this talk. I never really understood charisms until now.
Thank you Fathers! 🙏🏼

Fr Mark Mary and Fr Colomba in one video.... This is so good!
"...Even in my out-of-tuneness-..." I'm going to mull on that for a while.
It would be such a joy to have a charism
This was fantastic, thank you!
I was just wondering about this latelyyyy
I needed exactly this exactly now. Bless you.
I can relate to instruments being out of tune... hard to overlook 😊

It does. St. Catherine of Siena Institute can help you find out. They helped me.
👍✝️✡ I'm trying. I am.
Evan Le comes to mind with regard to supernatural charism through music.
I know what this is. Thats awesome!
Not sure what my charism could be. I don’t think anything I’ve done has ever deeply touched or inspired anyone. Maybe I don’t have one (?)
If God grants a charism to someone, will he ever take it away?
Yes, He can. It's a gift for others channeled through you. So if you don't use them, God can and will revoke them.
How do we determine which we have?
I'm not sure. Maybe it's when others notice it and express to you it's affection. I may be wrong. Trying to figure it out myself brother.
St. Catherine of Siena Institute can help you!
@@jouzelfeather-pelt7686Goodness they do charge a tidy sum!!
