I see 8 - 4. Huge step forward. One of the greatest programs in college football history. What would make B1G the greatest conference? Status quo PLUS return of bad arse smask mouth Nebraska of old. GBR!
Great show as always Sam. From huskerland, we're cautiously optimistic. Meaning we've been humbled more often than not and we root for our boys through thick and thin.
@@FodorPupil Oklahoma week used to be my favorite week of the season , by Far, was like Halloween or Christmas level. Had a Sooner Boomer shirt, ( Herbie holding a Bazooka!) Haha Idk...it's Startin to feel like the old days! GO BIG RED!

CU had a few good years and the nerve to call themselves rivals! Haha I've always thought that was funny!
If you’re right about Raiola being a top 25 QB this year, then NEB is wining 8 or 9. If they had a top 25 QB last year they win 8 or 9 for sure. I think 7-5 is the most likely record. I’d say Raiola is a top 40 QB or so this year, and I have to see NEB play clean football in close games before I predict 8+ wins.
Awesome critique thank you!! I am always surprised by how many people think Iowa will beat Nebraska considering how close it's always been with bad Husker teams, and the fact that we beat them last year. What is my bias blinding me from??
Good analysis overall! Believe you have their floor and ceiling correct. At the same time, the margin of error and overall competition in the B1G is such that the Huskers can’t take any team or win for granted. I believe what will make the difference is between their ears & their physicality. Against Michigan, the team played scared except for VanPoppel. Combine that with being less physical and the blowout was on. Against Maryland, Wisconsin, & Michigan St. we weren’t physical enough. Of course the lack of offense & turnovers were an issue also. If the Huskers can play the games expecting to win & execute at a physical level, they should be fun for Husker fans to watch.
My thought exactly, Neyor, Coleman, Banks, and Nelson are all over 6’4 and fast. Bonner and Lloyd have elite speed and TEs are slept on. Passing attack can be great or elite if DR stays healthy
Well, they will be in some close games, and they sort of have to prove it and get the bounces finally... Ya know? And until ya see that... That they are doing the little things to get the edge... It's hard to think they'd go from 5 to 10 wins. But they do have a workable schedule. I have a feeling that they are going to be really tough at home, and struggle on the road (I think Raiola will be much better at home). I dunno if they have the line or running game to go on the road and physically dominant people on the ground yet. That line isn't quite there and Gabe Ervin and Rahmir Johnson just can't stay healthy. I do like that running back, Emmett Johnson though. I am a Badger fan, and you guys really had us dead in the water last season in Madison. I am stunned we found a way to win that game. Good luck! I have Nebraska 8-4, including a win over my Badgers. I predicted their losses to Rutgers, USC, Ohio State and Iowa.
@@MikeyMike-fb5hx At temple and baylor, Rhule averaged 5 more wins in year two, (4, and 6, respectively). With our schedule, I think it is probable we win ten. Don't have to Dominate, just Win. RB's staying healthy imperative. Badger fan? Hats off to you and yours, friend, you currently enjoy feeling about us how we Used to feel about most all our conference opponents. How Many W's in a row? ( trying to forget, haha) agree with your prediction for that game, we are So Overdue.Good Luck this year in all games except one, ( you'll have to guess which one, haha) ps we love Barry Alvarez
Id replace RB with WR for position strengths. We have a good and deep RB room but we don't have a stand out at the position. We have elite at WR Banks and very good depth. This will be Nebraskas best WR room in the last 10+ years.
I don't know if the depth at RB is that good. Emmett Johnson is the one complete back who has durability and intangibles. Having a couple of guys who have been around but have a ton of injuries isn't really reliable. But their TE room is 3-deep and really strong. I think that is one area people aren't talking about. WIth the WRs they got in, I think people will have a hard time keying on the TEs as much, and I see that as a real strength of this team. Fidone isn't the best blocker, but he is one of the best receiving TE's around IMO.
I agree most with your record except for USC. I think it will be a loss, but we will win Wisconsin and it will give us confidence to win against Iowa. I think Colorado will give us a challenge with Dylan, but I think he will tough it out.
2023 was such a maddening season for me. We lost 3 games 13-10 on game losing time expiring field goals with drives setup with interceptions. If you have a below average QB that halved their turnovers we would’ve been a 7-5 or even 8-4 team. This year really feels like the breakout. A ton of returning production. A blue chip QB to improve the weakest spot on the roster last year. A whole offseason focused on ball security with a staff who cares about the attention to detail. There are some concerns. Left tackle is a very weak spot. We had Teddy tear his other ACL and have to rely on Corcoran who has been awful in past years. The kicking and punting personnel have me worried, and reading between the lines with Rhule’s press conferences it’s clear the staff is too. That will cost us games.
The Huskers can thank Jeff Simms for the Colorado disaster last year. If Nebraska fixed the turnover issue, it should be a really good season for the Cornhuskers!
1.) He can't figure out when to call timeouts to save his life - game management is poor. 2.) He hired a guy as an OC who can't adjust in the least to his personnel. That OC consistently sucked in his last job and in situational management in MR HC coached games. 3.) His DC has not demostrated he can coach against good teams. 4.) He said Jeff Simms is an NFL talent. I mean this should be enough in an of itself.
Nebraska screwed up when they got rid of their Buckeye! Pelini didn't do so bad at Nebraska. Husker fans just need more than 9 wins. I hope that they get better.
Pelini was a good defensive coordinator but not a head coach. His dick attitude actively pushed away recruits. Nebraska first sin was firing Frank Solich, and the nail in coffin was firing Bill Callahan way too soon. Been coaching purgatory ever since
@@jakejordan6314Very astute of you to get that firing Solich was the Sin!( Downright Evil) Cost us multiple🏆's. Not enough derogatory terms for the $&+- that came after him. Bo never beat a top ten team.( Luvya, Bo!) That's just not good enough for NU. RIGHT guy is here now. Be back to our proper place Soon!
Pelini was poison to his own program. When he was forced to fire his brother, the program started to deteriorate. He imploded his program and leadership at NU screwed him over.
Bo was a decent coach but he always stumbled miserably during big games. We would have never reached the mountain top with him. I didn't agree with him being fired, but we are kidding ourselves if anyone ever thought he would have gotten us another national championship. He also wouldn't have adapted to the new age of college football either. He is against NIL and utilizing the transfer portal.
@@jakejordan6314Solich wasn’t a good coach and couldn’t recruit. The success he had was with the residue of the Osbourne era. He wanted to turn the team into 1944 Nebraska with all white bois at every position.
This team sucks. But we didn't rebuild cheating. Michigan fans have nothing to stand on. I can't even take this seriously. But again, there's no consequences to cheating to rebuild so that's where we went wrong.
I am not sure if you've been drinking or smoking something, but I'm a lifelong Nebraska resident and a disappointed husker fan. And I can tell you with certainty that there is absolutely no chance Nebraska will go 8-4. Nebraska, even getting to a bowl game is very optimistic. This is Nebraska we are talking about here. Nebraska will never surprise you with upsetting a better team, but will often surprise you by losing to a team that they shouldn't. Nebraska will probably go 5-7 at best.
