i think you really touched on some of the key improvements he's making there at the end, cant help but remember zen's big mechy introduction to the rl scene at large and one of the key differences between zen then and dark then/now, is he already had such a phenomenal grasp of the team game. johnnyboi said something a few times while zen was on that massive tear through the upper echelons of 1v1, and it was about how mechy players often dont get the respect by folk thinking that they're all just about ball chasing, but the reality is the more mechanics you have in your arsenal, the more ways you can approach a play and he was adamant zen was gonna prove just that in the future (which he did). dark's on the edge of the mechanical game as it is, once he wraps that around the 3's framework he's gonna dominate it's just a matter of time.
Saying dark is the best mechanical player is absolutely disrespectful to the plats in youtube comments that can apparently do every mechanic in the game
i think when people want rate someone on how mechanical he is, they should also rate not only how many mechanics u can do, but also with wich consistency u success ur mechanic + if u are good enough on fondamental mechanics (by fundamental, look how strong are the shot of exotiik, always powerful and in a top corner 99% of the time)
Imagine being that good... Instead of constantly trying to keep up, being the guy actually pushing the boundries of RL unknown territory. The beauty of this game is people exploit it and it becomes a part of it.
@@ziah2theworld just imagine u comment on a RL video and dont know what team zen is on.. does anybody even understand the level of cluelessness with this one
I think Dark has been grinding 2v2 for the sake of his next run in RLCS. Maybe sticking with the team on Zone, maybe not. Also, you should do a review of Diaz the Brazilian player, he also seems like a mechanical Young-Gun that more people should be talking about. Hey, maybe you get him in your games from time to time
Dark is a beast and I think some of those best clip videos are not even giving him all the credit he deserves. He has a lot of disgusting goals, so I was not sure why those montages, show him doing basic high level RL plays, like normal single flip resets and conventional air dribble bumps. He has a level beyond, what normal high level players would put in a montage, that shows his mastery of freestyle in a competitive setting. Still waiting for the "Real" Dark Montage.
I actually disagree with u here @TenacityTv on 3:35 - 4:00. I agree with u on the fact that, because Dark has a reset they can't just go for it, However. They were both net, so one of them should have went for it (a.s.a.p.) to force the play. They should both know that the one going for it probably isn't going to get it. And so the guy waiting net should have the save. I think what went wrong here one the side of Zen is that: either they didn't know that they were both sitting net or, they saw Dark getting the reset got scarred and hesitated for a sec and then decided not to go. In both cases the problem could have been resolved with communication. Coms coms coms people!
Kind of want to see tenacity go for a pogo or one of those ariel plays where the ball hits off the ceiling in a video. Would be fun to see a high level player try these things
so i met dark lol he joined my vc randomly in the rl discord, hes a pretty cool guy, signed my steam prolly lol. we became pretty good friends over a weeks span but slowly stopped playing lol, still chill tho.
Actually he noflipped, he used the momentum from the rest of the flip to continue the recovery I just downloaded the replay to make sure. It makes sense he can chain dash and zap dash so consistently his speed is pretty nutty. The ball kind of prevents the flip anyways so he gets away with it.
Once dark gets as good as other pros at rotations and game sense, he'll be amazing. I'd love to see him in rlcs then. (But I don't think he's there yet)
Hey Tena, I got a question for you! :D If you hit a flip reset, you´ll have infinte time to execute that flip, right? Why would someone go for a double or triple flip reset then, assuming they haven´t used their flip yet? Love your content bud! Cheers man :)
Boost conservation and unpredictability mainly. As Tena said, each flip is more a horizontal move, so chaining those and feathering boost let's you cover crazy distance and still have tons of boost. And to be unpredictable, chaining flip resets let's you creep ever closer to the opponents net and remain in full control. There's one goal that Tena also explained where both opponents are reading two of his resets, but they don't read the last one, so he can sneak the ball past. O and cause it looks cool
The only possible criticism I can have for the guy is his habit of ball chasing/stealing, pretty solid chance that he’s going to do good things with it but that’s not how a team should play. Because of this Zen is still the best in my book but I love seeing dark play he’s incredible.
i used to do maktuf resets for double resets but not perfectly ofc and more at a sideways angle rather than striaght upside down level with ground like dark did in this vid. lasted a few weeks then forgot about it cuz trained smarts and just got sidetracked, and now cant barely get it to save my bloodline 💀
