I dumped Twitter and my 10+ year old account when Musk took over. Lost a lot, but I don’t regret it. He’s completely destroyed the platform.

I always find it strange that some Christians blame the Jews for the crucifixion of Jesus. If we put all the historical errors aside, that Romans were the ones who sentenced him to death (if we were to believe anything in the Bible, which for me as an atheist is a BIG question mark), why are they angry for Jesus' execution? If Jesus hadn't been executed and hadn't "died for our sins", Christianity wouldn't exist. Jesus' torture, execution, death and then resurrection is the single most important aspect of Christianity. Without it, everything in the New Testament falls. What's left is Judaism (or perhaps Islam). So, shouldn't Christians be thankful for what the Jews did?

Like ok, he did mention some number about ad revenue, (although he didn't say where it came from), but what about user engagement metrics? or anything else indicating the health of Twitter? All of this information is VITAL to assessing claims he's made, but time and time again they are absent from his analysis. All of David's points are the most shallow, lazy talking points stuffed full of fallacious logic - he loves anecdotal evidence and apparently can't comprehend his own hypocrisy. I have always thought that Musk was the most overrated person on the planet. Why so many people think he is a visionary genius is a mystery to me. He isn't even a financial genius. His Twitter saga makes that pretty clear.

As a woman who has dealt with her fair share of self aggrandizing assholes, I recognized this gangly popinjay from miles away, years ago. I saw him as one of the pathetic uninteresting dorks who always led with their wallet instead of having any personality, which tends to bamboozle only the very young and the equally venal, but to any women with a healthy dose of self esteem, the Elon Musks of the world have always been repellent.
The last time Musk blamed activists for their problems, a journalist contacted a bunch of the firms that pulled advertising and asked what the problem was and they said it was all the bizarre behavior of Musk. I'm sure it the same now.
I would bet (and I almost never bet) that the Antidefamation League has done its homework and Musk has not. It amazes me that somebody gave Musk the loan to buy Twitter. I hope they call those loans in soon.
I believe he borrowed most of it from his Space X company, from what I've read. So he hasn't just wrecked one of his companies, but two.

@@AncientActivist You're right, much of it came from the Saudi prince, Oracle Corporation, Qatar Holdings, and a couple of other foreign private equity firms, but he also borrowed a billion from Space X and sold off his Tesla shares. He went all in and mismanaged it into the ground. Twitter, I mean, X, is like the Fyre Festival of social media platforms. I wonder how they're all going to get their money back.
Oh of course they have. This isn't even the first time he has threatened to do this, there was already a watchdog group that presented a report on the abuse that is allowed under the Kusk regime. He responded by suing them and claiming that they monitored Twitter illegally, that they got their information about the hate speech illegally.
In other words, he is claiming that they have the information but they shouldn't have been allowed to get it.
I am certain that the ADL has a specific data on which they are basing this claim.

They don't understand that this is what he did. They literally think he is a rocket scientist. They think he designed the SpaceX spaceships, they think he designed the Tesla cars. They never heard the stories from employees who talked about all the ways he tried to interfere in their jobs to get them to do stupid things, and how they had to find ways to distract him and decoy him so that they could do a good job.

It’s so funny that just a few years ago…the world thought Elon was a genius, myself included. Now I think he was just lucky and his luck is running out. He always says and does the dumbest erratic things. Over paid for twitter by a crazy amount, made a series of changes ruining his purchase in quick succession, and didn’t learn from HBO max changing to max. X
I never thought he was a genius. He does what a lot of people with money and a gift for hype do, aquire something with value, hype it up while others do the real work and take credit for the success because they're the public face of it. But I did think he was intelligent and capable. Both of which have been disproved by his own actions.
