This is great! What a testimony! I remember in the 90's watching Rippey hucking a couple frontside 540 indys and of course a Rippy flip at a big kicker the crew was hiking at Mt. Hood one beautiful sunny day! It was epic! I'll never forget it! I must say, we all grow up and at 46, GOD is amazing and to hear a testimony and witness from a snowboarder you grew up admiring in all those Standard films way back in the day, is priceless... Praise GOD! May GOD bless everyone who watches this interview with his spirit and truth in Jesus name amen!
@@fnradsnowboarding you're welcome, great interview! Definitely gained a new sub ha ha. May GOD bless you and your endeavors! I LOVE SNOWBOARDING and all those OG rippers that made the sport what it is today, much respect 👊❤️
Rip with grey hair, whodathunkit? I remember sharing Jesus with him when he was throwing back flips at Boreal and getting John Booth and Marshall all in a tizzy. Rip and his red haired gf showed up at Sierra Fitness when I was working for Mike there. Rip was heading up and I couldn't resist sharing Christ with him. He blew me off, saying he didn't need that and...well..., I guess GOD got'em. Glad to see it Jim, glad you're still in the faith. See ya there or see ya in the air. ;)
Back in 98-99 I lived in Truckee and Rippey lived right up the street from us. During the summer we'd see him and his buddy every now and then doing skate laps down the hill in front of the house and towing back up with a dirt bike. Met him once when we were hanging out skating in front of the house, super cool dude for sure.
Its funny hearing Jim talk about seeing a skier doing a backflip and blowing his mind because its his backflip in TB4 that I saw in Surf Paradise back in the day that first blew my mind, and in turn made me go out the next year and buy his Mission 56.
Great episode, dude! I remember watching Jim in videos in the early 90s and being so stoked on his riding. I always wondered where he went. 1910 Rocks!
Talking off mic with Jim about his jobs after snowboarding, particularly working in a gold mine, was such a crazy experience... it's hard to believe he didn't continue in snowboarding!!
@@fnradsnowboarding Right! It's so crazy to hear him talk about quitting snowboarding like it was a drug that he never wanted to do again. Really different interview compared to your normal 90s pro.
