This story was upsetting. Also, I thought the OP character also had an alarming lack of urgency when hearing that Lana left the baby outside. I know she was sick but I thought she should have been screaming at Lana to go get the baby right now!
Keep in mind that OP passed out for hours before she came to and was released from the hospital. Blame Lama for thinking about herself only and not listening to others.
@@mildredquinones924I mean before she passed out. They were having this five minute back and forth knowing the baby was outside alone in a rain storm. At the very least, why didn’t she call her brother?
I have trust issues when it comes to my kids. No matter how much fun I want to have, I would never leave my kids without anything needed. Lana is heartless and careless and should never have a baby
As a fellow mama, I am the same way with my kids. I lost my 1st son to SIDs and he was only 6 weeks old, and sadly no one believed me when I kept asking for help. I was labeled as the 'new overprotective mother' since I was a new mother. It had to be right after my son passed away that I was right. My 1st son's doctor had gone into early retirement after finding out that my son passed away and that she just brushed me off. When my daughter was born, I gave her formula, and she started showing the same signs as my 1st son. Luckily this time, my daughter's doctor took my concerns seriously, as it turns out, like my 1st son, she was also allergic to formula and needed a special brand that you can get through the pharmacy. (Before I get judged - I couldn't produce milk, but the doctors and my OBs said it was for the best because I take medicine and it could harm the baby if I breastfed my other two children) If I even feel something is off with my kids, my concerns are taken seriously.
This story was disgusting,,the idiot should of called the police when she knew the baby was left,,,sounds not caring at all, the mother should have the baby taken away ,,and put in jail…
@@Sparky102970 WHY would you call CPS or the cops the first time someone leaves their child with you, saying they had an emergency?? They didn't know until (much) later exactly what the woman was doing.
So... Why did OP waste time arguing with Lana when there was a baby in life threatening danger?????? Why did OP not contact Lana's husband or a neighbour?!
In rethinking about this story, maybe could see why the op didn't let police know as she had passed out in the hospital. In real life though, at minimum maybe the op could have let Nathan know about the woman asking to drop the baby off, so maybe if Nathan knew then it wouldn’t have gone on so long of the baby being there? Common sense- never leave a baby or child at someone’s doorstep -don’t assume someone is home -don’t assume you have a babysitter so you can go have an affair -don’t ever put a relationship, even cheating, ahead of your child ever, for any reason -if someone is trying to tell you something, don’t assume they will just go along with what you want meaning when the woman assumed the ops fever was no big deal -be responsible for your child(ren) above all else While caregivers are human and can make a mistake….this wasn’t a careless mistake, this was a pure selfish act, assuming, uncaring and irresponsible. Someone so selfish like that shouldn’t be a caregiver.
How many times does someone have to say no my gosh And drop the baby off without handing her directly to another adult? Wow Why the heck isn’t the op calling police on this ‘mother’? Wow So far they are both irresponsible in different ways. It is so disappointing how this baby is just dumped on a porch. In real life, they should all be arrested.
I was saying call cps or cops or I don't your bother. Near the end she talked to sister in law like she knew what kind person she is. I was like are kidding me why did you trust her. Knowing full well what's going on.
Okay, in OP’s defense, she did say she was at the hospital and passed out right as she was about to contact her brother…I feel like holding her to the same standards as Lana isn’t fair because she did repeatedly say no and did have intention of contacting the rest of the family had health concerns not interfered.
@thecornettmultiverse I would agree if she didn't have options but she had her bother. Also another thing near the end she knew what kind person sil was is one thing if you didn't
Well, both women are stupid! Of course nothing can top Lana's incredible irresponsible selfishness, leaving a one month young baby alone in a rainstorm on someone's porch (in the shade??? It was cold!!!). But instead to go on arguing with that crazy "mother" Cathy should've immediately called her brother, CPS, police... to secure the baby; instead of wasting her energie to try to make clear that she was sick, and putting two lives in danger (Bebe's and her own with that high fever). A simple, stern "Lana, come back THIS INSTANT and get Bebe or I'll call the cops on you", and just DO it! What's worse: Cathy later stated that she waited 1 hour for Lana to bring Bebe to her, despite telling her she couldn't watch her? Enough time to call her brother to tell him what Lana planned. Doesn't make sense at all! And Nathan knew about Lana's affair even before she gave birth? But still let her take care of his own child?!? Even Cathy knew? No, sorry, they KNEW Lana couldn't be trusted, and an innocent baby had to pay the price for some adults making idiotic decisions... I can only hope something like that doesn't happen irl!
Ok sorry but OP should have called police and Nathan instead of arguimg with Lana. Idgaf. Yes ultimately it WAS Lanas fault, however OP could have saved Bebe if she had STOPPED talking to Lana and CALLED THE COPS! If someone, family or not, called me to tell me they left their child, much less a ONE MONTH OLD! I would have IMMEDIATELY hung up and called the Odin damned POLICE! Then i would have called them back and told them they have EXACTLY 15 minutes to get their ass BACK to my house or i would charge them for tresspassing on top of the abandonment, neglect, endangerment, and abuse she will be facing!
Who in their right mind would leave their child with someone who is sick and has a Fever
This was a very dark story, with a suggested very heartbreaking ending. As tough as it was to hear, I am glad the writers went out of the box.

Yup, she should have been calling the police and her brother as soon as she found out the baby was by herself.
