I was in a roll over with my ,supervisor Jimmy, coworkersJosh,Chance and myself Cecilia,we were heading to Montana from Wyoming to do a job . The front passenger Josh kinda shouted Jimmy and I asked if he wanted me to drive and he said he was fine and that he wasn't tired. A mile or so outside of Hardin Montana ,Josh said it again and we started spinning out of control and started to roll. I have had 2 surgeries my entire cervical from C2 down to my I think it's down to my T5 is fused ,I lost a big portion of my teeth fractured my left eyesocket and snapped my right ankle in half.

I have permanent disability partial injuries. Had my L4 L5 S1 lumbar spine surgery and my right hip too. Work compensation since 2019 and still open case. And I still experience severe chronic pain and also 3 disc replacement.

I'm sorry you are still having pain. Your case would likely have significant settlement value. It would be important for you to have good health insurance in place before closing such a case as you may have significant injury related expense into the future. Jim

I fell on an icy dock, and it caused me to have a torn meniscus. Surgery is planned in 2 weeks. Subsequently I have traumatic PTSD . The adjuster has denied my PTSD. I have been out of work for over 3 months with no pay. Does CT WC recognize PTSD?

Right dominant shoulder off of work for 2.5 years now with 3 different surgeries all in same shoulder which one was bicep tendon relocation. Limited movement and not claim has added major depression and anxiety. Also now having flow over to my left shoulder as well as limited movement getting out of bed I herniated a disc. Looking to get the left shoulder and disc added on

Fairly common scenario. Tying in the other body parts increases the value of the case, but may be a fight. Seems like a good case.

Hi, I live in Tennessee. I fell off the back of my work truck, striking my head causing a fractured skull, severe concussion and a brain hemorrhage along with a deep black left eye.. It's been a month since the accident. My neurologist says initially I should be able to go back to work Aug 1st.. I've had alot of side effects and life changes..
What do you think a good starting point in my settlement would be.. They don't want to do surgery

@Jerry Best advice: lawyer up early on. Worker's Comp is designed for the employer not the employee. I had a a very violent PTSD claim in 2016 (WA State). It took five years to resolve. They did everything they could to deny my claim and sent me to endless dr.'s (their "hired guns"). I got a lawyer early on and it paid off. The appointments subsided and the harassment of me to telephone in also stopped. In the end WA L&I has a lifetime pension award (Most people including myself was unaware it even existed). Once I was able to get my case in front of a judge it was a slam-dunk! I got backpay of $91K (after paying attorney fees) and a monthly check tax-free of $5777. You have to take charge of your claim and do not talk to any "friends" where you work, supervisors, or HR. They will work against you and they will also surveil you. Lawyer up early and let them do the heavy lifting.

With the fusion, you PPD rating, and the settlement value of your case would go up. Thanks for watching. If you're in Connecticut and need help, reach out any time.

That would be a question for your doctor. Hopefully the nerve ablation was successful and you will be pain free going forwards.

Some states do allow for income from both jobs to be included in your comp rate. Check with your lawyer.

Hello sir. I got injured September 2019 I haven't worked since
My injuries. I have already done lots of injections for the herniated disc for a year. And after that I get disectomy and it didn't work on December 2021 I get a fusion L5-S1 surgery and now the pain is back and for this 3 years. A Dr. Have been recommended surgery on my shoulder but that surgery workers compensation never approved. And the Dr. For the shoulder put me also on 100 % desability and in the same paper he wrote. That I can't return to work till my shoulder is ok. But workers comp. Seems like they don't care about it. Do you think I have a chance to get a good settlement?
I used to make 18 bucks per hour
50 to 55 hrs a week I was working for that company for more than 8 years

I had a partial rotator cuff tear in my master arm 3 cervical disc L3 to 5 the insurance company was refusing to get me an mri of my lumbar spine so I got the mri through my insurance I have 5 blown discs in my in my lumbar spine which my lawyer presented to the judge and now the judge wants my testimony .. and I want to know why he wants it and is this a positive or negative?

    • @Ctworkinjurylawyer
      @Ctworkinjurylawyer  2 года назад

It sounds like your jurisdiction does things a lot differently than we do in Connecticut. I would follow your lawyer's advice. If the Judge wants testimony, then that is certainly going to be required to move your case forward.

It really would depend what State you are in and whether or not your case is "accepted" or not.

If you are at a medical endpoint it would be a reasonable time to consider settlement.
