One trick I've used for decals, have it firmly taped on top like you did, then peel the backing paper off from the top down, very slowly revealing the adhesive, pushing the decals in place as you work the backing paper off and down. It's nice to see all the detail work you put on your restorations, the details really matter. The wood block for the plug wires is a nice touch, at some point they moved to a set of 3, and it's mounted on the ventilator tube, the 30s era and later Ds at least.

That was the first set of Jorde decals that I installed. I was pretty nervous. Your method makes a lot of sense. not having a lot of adhesive exposed. I have more issues on styled tractors where the decal fits in the sheet metal recess. I need three hands for those sometimes!

I'm almost 80 years old and I grew up next to farm did a lot of work on farms as a kid and I never saw or worked on any of these old John Deere's like this beauty. The oldest I saw was an old Harte-Par the farmer used once a year to haul gravel from the creek to the lane going back to the back of the farm. I got to tell you it must be an absolute joy to work on that beauty! Watching it and listening to a run. Wow!!

Great video but if I could make a suggestion? Maybe have the music in the background and then I'd love to hear you talk about everything about the tractors that you work on.

Hi Jon, thanks for the comment. We're trying a new editing program and just realized we lost all of the voice over on the pictures. We'll get it fixed and repost it.

Is that valve train hardware all new re-cast parts? Do you have a supplier reference?

The rocker arms are original. They were bead blasted and the wear surfaces reground. The sides of the rockers were machined to remove wear and spacers made to maintain clearance. Rocker shaft is new machined out of stressproof shaft. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
