I came upon this video about a year ago and I probably watch it 2-3x a month. I've been doing this exact deep 1/2 "system" for a year. I'm near 50 overweight, slow unathletic, inflexible, short legs..... and this is the equalizer! I sweep everyone every time end up on top and attack. I added in a few dog fight/coyote guard techniques and the two work real well together. Thank you so much for this video!
That’s awesome to hear. Thank you for this comment, and I appreciate that it has helped like that over time. This has been a huge staple of my game too, especially with age and injuries.
This is exactly what I need right now! Fat, old, slow blue belt here trying to stay relevant against my fast young training partners. Thankyou for another informative and helpful video!
Guys thank you!! I haven't drilled this yet but I'm pretty sure I will hit these sweeps live first try when I train tomorrow morning. Great great video. (small, old, purple belt here)
Think about how specific a niche this is to be disappointed: they're into a sport the general public isn't interested in, a specific position in that sport out of the hundreds of different topics to search for, from a specific person who they're probably already familiar with if they've gotten this far to search YT videos of it. Only to thumbs down.
I most of the time managed to get into half guard, but never know what to do after. This is something i probably able to do when i am in that position again. Just need to watch it for another 100 times so it drills in my brain 😆👍 hope i manage it. Until next week..lets see how it goes!
I am White belt so it is very difficult to go inside deep from half guard but after watching your video, I can understand how to move first before deep half guard, thank you so much :)
Really good advice! One thing I picked up from Chewie’s videos was that as you go for that underhook to tuck your arm to your opponent’s chest and drive the elbow in first (as opposed to going knife hand in first). Prevents them from grabbing and trapping the arm.
@@KnightJiuJitsu no problem I been watching your videos for a two years of just drilling foundations and tips as a unofficial white belt really got me through to the point I had guys question me if I had experience already. 😅
Legends thanks. I get stuck in knee shield with some of the bigger guys and struggle to sweep but i think if i drill these enough, i should be sweet. Cheers.
This video here is quintessential. Amazing. Im curious about wich will be ur grip setups to pull for the Z and start the game. Im left so my base is most of the times mirror'ing them. Any advice or video on that? Thanx in advance.
@@KnightJiuJitsu that's why you should always bring your tatami everywhere you go, somebody starts shit you just throw your tatami on the floor, judo throw the guy on the tatami and pull deep half guard on him

I like the idea of the frame pushing to one instead of just pushing away.
Thanks, all that sweeps help me to up grade my Jiu Jitsu.
Amazing mini seminar, thank you Professor Eli
I’m in awe how master knights hair doesn’t budge during the technique. White belt mind blown

Deep half guard is my favourite guard, nice sweek looks simple and you can go to over under pass after sweep, which I have benn working on as well
All my same feelings too 👍
Love it! Thanks professor
Very helpful, thank you.
Beautiful techniques! Awesome
Very badass! Thank you
I love your videos it really helped me get started and prepare when I took my first class beginning this year.

I appreciate that!
Nice
Cant wait to drill this! ... on a dirt floor.. in 9 months.. when the world as we know it is gone.... lol, sorry getting sorta depressed☹
I understand totally. We are all feeling that right now.

Neat
2 arms 2 legs - how many moves can possibly be there? I feel like it never ends.
Why does home boy have a blue section on his black belt? I’m just curious to what it means.
I’m a black belt under Royce Gracie. He uses the blue sleeve for his black belts instead of red.
First!
Very bad for the street
I agree. This would be pretty stupid to do in a street fight.
