2024 Summer Leadership Academy

More than 80 teens from the Captain Vernon A. Richard High School for Fire and Life Safety and FDNY Explorers have been participating in the Summer Youth Leadership Academy at the EMS Academy on Fort Totten. This year's program is the largest in the Academy’s history and is designed to prepare students for the upcoming school year.
The Academy focuses on academic and physical training to teach resilience, discipline and leadership. Students took part in a bear crawl exercise where they had to work as a team to motivate one another and cross the finish line together.
