I grew up in the Jordan / Shaq / Iverson era. I appreciate that players these days are more skilled, especially big men, and that the game has to evolve. However, various decisions of the League and Silver's mis-directed focus on marketing, rather than the quality of the core product--something he's revealed in this interview--has really turned this lifelong NBA fan away. Here are a few complaints: 1) What garbage is the in-season tournament? It dilutes the value of the championship, 2) Why can't we just watch the team we love on one platform? For a local area team, games should be on a channel or stream that everyone in the area has access to--that's how a fan base is built, 3) If NBA really is a steward of the game, as Silver repeatedly asserts, then respect the rules that have defined the game for decades--it's a contact sport, it's a sport where players can't run or carry the ball, it's a sport that allows for a variety of offense and defense tactics. The NBA will become a textbook case of how the prioritization of revenue and social media engagement leads to its downfall. With all those streaming deals and social media revenue, what do you think the players are going to demand? The result is a generation of spoiled players not willing to play the game the right way. It's a shame.
Adam Silver like Ted Leonsis of the Wizards have been more focused on the global expansion of basketball than the product on the floor. In a day in age where technology is so readily available and there’s access to NBA content globally already, it makes zero sense to make this the top priority. The NBA is a joke, hard to watch, and not worth attending in person. He has zero to do with the media deal other than his signature just like every other sports commissioner. Silver should step down this year.
what if they held allstar games at the highschools of some of the best players? Renovate the courts is great PR for the League and its would be a super cool small in person atmosphere

Length of games on tv isn’t an issue. Just another excuse for players to play less. Better off just shortening the number of games in a season honestly. This guy just thinks of ways to do damage to the nba.
