Fun fact: "Lanakila" means "victory" in Hawaiian. Referencing that it's a Victory Road.
Those guys at Nintendo are always thinking are they?
Mt Victory
I love that USUM gave this theme a reason to go this hard
In SM, the mountain was empty because the League was still new.
@@wikiuser92 They could’ve at least paid some ace trainers to hang out and try and halt my progress, let’s be honest
@@TheTownNarcoleptic I think it being empty made sense. Trainers come there of their own will.
@@wikiuser92 USUM justified Mt. Lanakila having Trainers despite the League being new tho. A lot of Trainers came rushing in the second it opened up because they all caught news of Kukui opening up the League for all Island Challenge Champions to come in and compete. In SM, I guess the logic is you came before anyone else could.
Which I guess makes sense, since after you finish your business at Vast Poni Canyon in SM, you go straight to the League, while in USUM, you have to do Mina’s trial and Hapu’s Grand Trial afterwards, so that would explain why there are way more Trainers in USUM than SM. Doesn’t explain why there are extra rooms and puzzles in Mt. Lanakila in USUM tho, but that just chalks up to the devs getting more time to make it an actual dungeon this time around.
@@komarunaegi7460 Yup. That's my theory, too. Both versions make sense.
This theme feels much better in USUM
Dissappointingly easy victory road aside, This is one of my favorite peices in this game, if not my favorite. The intro with the bells is soooo cool, and the the winds poking out of the heavy strings and percussion is really nice
Thank goodness Mt. Lanakila was made into a more proper Victory Road in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, so there's more time to listen to this amazing theme

I'll never forget that moment when my Incineroar came out of his PokeBall and reassured me that we could triumph over the Alola League.

I am getting heavy Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Vibes with this theme.
The starting gives you goosebumps...
Hopefully one day in the future this game gets a remake I enjoyed it a lot and specially this theme.
it will be necessary to wait for the remakes of the 5g and those of the 6g but yes one day that of the 7g will arrive it will be necessary to wait for the remakes of the 5g and those of the 6g but yes one day that of the 7g will arrive!
@@kouya6420 they’ll also probably make a 2nd johto remake since they did that with let’s go pikachu and eevee for kanto
@@cryptocurrency232let's hope they gonna fix some of the shit otherwise there is basically no reason to play that over HGSS besides availability IG
I’d be shivering on my way to league
From the music or the cold

The mystery dungeon vibes really are strong though.

Victory Road was literally nothing in these games. Like I suppose I can understand since the game did throw you through a lot already, but...you were literally right by a Pokemon Center. I feel like they could have once again made Victory Road that "one last challenge" before the e4....
it's more like a determined march towards the pokemon league.
It's about as much as it was in Gold and Silver, but Vast Poni Canyon filled that void quite well and with everything that happened after it.
I feel like it works. Every other League has been around for a while, and victory road is packed with trainers aspiring to be champion. However, in SM, the League just got set up, with you, Gladion and Hau being the first ones there to ascend to the peak. This theme isn’t supposed to represent Victory Road, the final gauntlet(that’s why Mount Lanakila isn’t named Victory Road), it represents your character marching up for the last trek to become Alola’s first champion.
@@nimbusttp_archive Actually, it *is.* "Lanakila" is Hawaiian for "victory". Victory Mountain. This *is* Alola's Victory Road.
Thank God it changed a lot in USUM
sounds kinda PMD-esque

The beginning sounded like the botw map update tower wait thing ngl lol
The best victory road theme in my opinion.
