    Honestly its really refreshing to watch Jack interview these directors because i cant stand watching these interviewers with their terrible "would you rather" type "fun" questions because Im not learning any insight about how the movie was made or what thought was going into it. I think theres so much value watching an up and coming film maker asking curious and actual questions to a huge/renowned filmmaker. Basically ive been a fan of you Jack for a really long time and thank you for giving us these super valuable and interesting interviews!!

      Rian Johnson does not deserve to make another movie in his life. He downgraded Star Wars to a campy level never seen in the prequels.

      J.C. L. Lmfao I mean okay?? He's still a film maker he still has really good insight as to how the film was made. Even if you didn't like the movie, most directors and actors have shitty movies they're apart of. Making a star Wars movie you didn't like isn't grounds for banishment from his career..

    • @Jucelegario
      @Jucelegario 6 лет назад +1

      Kerra7, No, he does not. When you write something for a character, it has to be something that character would do, if you do it differently, then its another character and it does not matter if you use the same actor. Rian Johnson IS a bad writer, the moment he gave the Brick teens such complicated dialogs, tells you he does not know what he is doing. People praise Brick because is over pretentious without realizing teenagers do not talk like that. His movies look good but thats not him, is the CINEMATOGRAPHER.

    I love how you ask interesting, new and somewhat deep questions and how the people you interview seem to appreciate it. They always seem relaxed, like they're having a conversation with an equal. It's so fresh and cool to watch, Jack. If you ever get tired of making films (ha, like that could happen), just know that you can just do this and you will have a big and grateful audience. Thanks for what you do!
    Btw, Rian's esses are so sharped and high-pitched I had to take my headphones off. lol

      I don't think Rian Johnson has ever touched a woman by the way he sits crushing his testicles. Looks like a weak guy, which is easy for big ego bosses like Kathleen Kennedy to manage, which translates in a bad movie if he does everything she asks for. Which was ultimately what happened, regardless of him saying he wrote the movie he wanted.

    I especially loved how real and not cheesy the whole thing was, there wasn’t fake laughing or painful smiling, it was just two creators talking. So thank you.

    This was a really calming video in a way. Like that bit in the beginning where both of you kinda say about how writing is the worst part was like really therapeutic to hear for some reason, as an aspiring 'writer of things i want to make' (is what i'm calling that apparently), i had this like internal fear that there was something wrong with me since i dont enjoy the act of writing the way i used to when i was a kid, (which got me started in this mess) but still have the drive to want to make things and i was like having this mental conflict where i was thinking maybe i'm just not cut out for this. But to hearing someone who's work I've enjoyed and admired for years and someone who is, in my eyes, reached the pinnacle of success (like he made a bleedin star wars movie) like this really made me feel a sort of relief in an odd way. did a little sigh, like i was letting out a breath i didn't know i was holdin. asmr for the soul. emotions and such. also big mood on the presenting a notebook thing, i felt like a real idiot turning in my first script writing assignment on two blocks of sticky notes and a two pound notebook that was falling part.. ... this is a real good video man. Rian is a vr chill dude.

    Rian Johnson actually seems like a really nice person. Its a shame TLJ didn't reach up to it's expectations. I enjoyed it by all means but I just wish Luke's character made a bit more sense, Snoke wasn't wasted and there was a reason Rey was so strong (not because we have to give the woman special treatment because if you don't your a sexist). But Im sick of the hate Johnson is getting. The guy tried his best, making a movie is no easy job. People hated TFA for being too like ANH but are now complaining about TLJ for being to different? Make up your minds people! Plus Episode 9 is yet to come out so ut's to early to judge. I think the movie could have been a lot better but if you believe Johnson wanted to upset Star Wars fans, your an idiot. As Hamill said, its only a movie. I want to thank Johnson for trying to give us a good movie and tell him to ignore the 9 year olds sending him death threats.

      Sean Corcoran He publicly admitted he would try to get a female director to helm one of the movies from that "new trilogy" of his that wlll likely never see the light of day. Already _after_ the fan backlash which should have proven to him beyond any doubt that focusing on social justice long before the movie you're making actually starts resembling anything good is the wrong way to go about this. Apparently, he didn't learn his lesson and still has the compulsive need to feel good about himself, in spite of the piece of shit that he has just pushed out.

    Jack is such an amazingly charming interviewer! Kudos!
    It felt so cathartic as someone who's dealing with severe writers' block for the first time to hear a successful writer-director say that writing is always horrible for everyone. Misery loves company, I guess.

    Very clever questions, particularly about the creative process. I imagine Chris Nolan, Gareth Edwards, and Rian Johnson spend their post-press day downtime checking out Jack and Dean sketches (hopefully!).

    I'm far from being a passionate Star Wars fan. But fuck me this is still fascinating, especially talking about writing and the transition (or lack thereof) from small films to big scale studio films like this. Thoughtful interview by Jack and top notch responses and general discussion from Johnson

    I'd really like to see a full review/discussion of the film on this channel. I enjoy hearing your opinions on films but honestly, I can't understand how anyone could give a positive review of this one. Having just got back from a midnight screening I can easily say that as a fan of star wars this film takes all the gravitas and emotion in the franchise and ruins it in an attempt to add ill timed jokes and punchlines that aren't appropriate to the tone and seem to be purposely written to to make the audience feel disconnected from the story. Not one character, plot line or even action sequence is treated with an ounce of respect for the franchise, bar one or two lightsaber battles. In my opinion (and I am just a stranger on the internet) this is easy the worst star wars movie yet, but I'm genuinely interested to hear another take on it

    I always get nervous whenever you mention you're a filmmaker as well bec I fear the director just straight up rolling their eyes at you or something but you just bring out the best and most eloquent versions of themselves in these interviews. The passion they have for their work comes out because they sense your genuine appreciation for film and their individual processes behind it that everyone have a great time. Keep up the good work, Jack

      The throne room probably! I don't think he meant new characters in this specific movie but in the new trilogy, so Rey, Kylo and Snoke are three new characters that were all together in one of everybody's favourite scene... that would be my guess.
